KESAR WITH PANNBA

He cried his heart out to his mom feeling so defeated after Gulaal left him/them. He was literally breathless like how something in him just died and he has lost something for ever. His world after her departure was almost eerie as if he was in a house that met with someone's death or as if he stood at the dead end of the road towards oblivion.

It was an open and direct talk with his mom. He took her hands softly, reassured her of his intention in seeking answers not from his mother but a woman. Kesar looked straight into his mom's eyes and sought explanation why his love was sinful when the society has given approval to it. Does age and her being a widow earlier, a barrier to love, hasn't any other man been in love with a older woman or with a widow, what he needs to prove his merit to be in love with her.

He accepts of his ignorance about marriage at a young age but reminds her that he had always believed in this marriage even at such a young age.

He reminded he was made a "husband" without his consent, made both of them sit in puja, that Gulaal had kept the Vrat in respect of the fact that he is her husband. If all that was right according to them, what was wrong if he loved her? It was his virtue speaking when he said that he is after all in love with his wife, not any other. When his mother was dumbfounded and speechless before him, he insists for an answer.

No one can give him an answer because he is the one who has been affected by this and he has just believed in this ritual even at an impressionable age till now.

KESAR WITH TALLI

Pannba was right and wrong in reminding about Talli being sandwiched between two people with strong ideology. You may call it the central dogma or doctrine of belief that was the very essence of their survival. For Gulaal, it was Vasant's dreams and for Kesar it was Gulaal. And Talli was unwillingly sacrificed in the clash of the philosophy/viewpoint between Kesar and Gulaal.

As a true son who valued his mother's opinion, this is the first time he has decided to face Talli after the wedding fiasco. Quietly he stands next to her. When she realizes, she wants to leave. He stops her with the same rights of being a friend to her. He was honest in admitting his mistake; he believed he has lost the right to seek forgiveness.
He looked for a friend in her whom he could share his thoughts with and partly helping her too to make her realize. He admitted he can realize her pain of losing the one you love, that she was better off that she lived the happiness of being in love and enjoying the feelings of love but it took him 10 years to just realize that he was in love and did not even get a moment to cherish the exhilaration following that realization. He needed a friend to talk to. He did not have any ego in admitting he is not as strong as her but weak at the thought of losing his love. The way he held his head between his hands said it all what an emotional wreck he has become with these sudden turn of events.

I wouldn't blame Talli entirely but she added to his guilt by declaring he has played with their emotions and that he is BAD.

KESAR WITH GULAAL

Kesar walked into her room without caring for formalities. That is Kesar who has never felt she is someone to be treated a stranger to adhere to such code of conduct and decorum.

He walked in hearing the truth that no one can take Vasant's place in her life. Actually Kesar is very much aware of that and does not have an issue with that. He knows what his Vasant Ba means to her.

He starts out softly with a request to her to come back to her house of which she is the heart and soul. He speaks for himself and on behalf of his family too, not once being selfish that it is him alone who needs her comeback. Why Gulaal felt that his confession was an insult to her, is not clear. Insult to what? Her thoughts, her ideals, her femininity, or what? Yetin all honesty he is willing to explain he did not intend to hurt her. He is so soft spoken in front of her in asking why she is punishing him when all he did was make his thoughts known to her. Stubborn that she is, she doesn't even want to give him a chance and doesn't care a bit for his feelings and in a supposedly polite manner asks him to leave her house. Her problem is with the word "LOVE" as she never allowed him to complete his sentence where he would have once again declared his love for her.

Vasant Ba ki toh sharm kar!!! Now Kesar is confused and gives her a confused look because he is not understanding what or why it is shameful. When she mentioned it yet again as a sinful act as if he she is Goddess Incarnate, it put him off. Thereafter he was confident in asking her if loving her is a sin, whether such thoughts in him to love her is a sin, just because he is Vasant's younger brother.

The most significant dialogue was Kesar questioning who decides to declare it as sin, the one who makes a mistake and announces the punishment or the one who did not commit a mistake but was suffering for no reason. It was partly an eye-opener to her when he asked why couldn't he love her being Vasant's younger brother when in fact she had utilized that same relation (as an escape) to go through Deeyarvatu. Why was it that she is finding the sacred word Love as an act of sin when he utters from his mouth just because he is Vasant's brother. He asked her a million dollar question. Would it be still termed as sinful if he was not Vasant's brother and had still loved her. Obviously HRH Gulaal has no answer to that because obviously she can't say that no one should love her. The reason for Vasant's untimely demise was also due to someone else's ???love for her.

Never mind, she is just speechless for a moment, she will cook up something that would shut him up.

Precap: Sensible father compared to her hyperactive mother. I doubt if her mom has an extended display of ADHD, not entirely or actually but partly.

Ya, that whole insult thing was just strange. Is she insulted that he loves her or because he told everyone about it? In that case, the fact that he didn't want to break the deyarvattu kinda told the whole village (except for his oblivious family!!) that he is in love with Gulaal...So is she insulted by that too!? Jeez!
It's so ironic how Gulaal wanted to drag everyone down to the panchayat instead of resolving the matter in private and now the maharani says woh panchayat ke decision se sehmat nahin hai!? What if the panchayat had sided with her and kesar had said the same dialogue!? Would she have let him get away with it! HAH! She'd probably have held him down and slapped him till he agreed with HER decision!
And the ADHD...Quite possible! 😆

Lovely analysis once again!

Today's epi totally belonged to Kesar through and through and Neil was fantastic in all his scenes with the three women in his life...

I absolutely loved his scene with Paanbaa...especially the way he took her hands softly and said he wants her opinion as a woman, not as a mother...and the way he calmly laid out the logic of the situation...why indeed is it a sin?? He put forth every possible question ppl/society could raise but clearly it does not make sense to call this a sin...which is why Paanbaa didn't have an answer either...but I did agree with her point about how the relationship b/w Kesar and Gulaal has become such a puzzle for everyone around them...they obviously don't have the answers to anything either. And Paanbaa's point about Talli was valid too...she did become an unwitting victim in this turmoil b/w K and G.

Secondly, the scene with Talli...Kesar was fantastic...everything he talked about...how he admitted his mistake once again...and talked of his own misfortune that it took him so long to understand his love...and had barely started to have that feeling sink in when his love left him...his entire monologue was very good but Talli's reaction made no sense and was extremely random...the one scene that really stuck out like a sore thumb in the epi and seemed very fragmented...I don't get the purpose of it :S

Thirdly and finally...the most important woman in his life...Her Royal Highness Gulaal...lol...the way he approached her today was just what was needed...the calm logic was back...I totally agree with you on this point being the most important question:
The most significant dialogue was Kesar questioning who decides to declare it as sin, the one who makes a mistake and announces the punishment or the one who did not commit a mistake but was suffering for no reason. It was partly an eye-opener to her when he asked why couldn't he love her being Vasant's younger brother when in fact she had utilized that same relation (as an escape) to go through Deeyarvatu.
Indeed...WHO decides what to declare a sin?? When it suited Gulaal, she used the deeyarvattu for her own means...and now she is the one announcing the punishment for Kesar...who never committed any mistake and was an innocent victim to begin with...How can it be right to do this deeyarvattu to begin with and then conveniently forget it's very meaning? To label it as SIN when it suits YOU, Gulaal...but otherwise it's all good? Kesar held up a mirror for her today.

Now I don't know if she'll answer him or just brush him aside as usual...but I saw quite an agitated Gulaal today...her repeating that no one can take Vasant's place shows that that is her biggest problem...that she perceives THAT to be a sin...Kesar needs to clarify to her that he is not taking Vasant's place...he is making his own.

Her father said it best when he told her mother...we all know how ziddi Gulaal is...she won't budge...and at the same time, we all know Kesar...he WILL come to take her back home...and that is exactly what happened😆

Excellent post Mey Simi 👏

You say it all. I really like how Gulaal as a show balances between expected and unexpected in such a precise manner.

Expected: Kesar's breakdown, and eventual attempt to get Gulaal back.

Unexpected: Kesar actually being logical in his very befuddled state, to the extent that he sets out to clarify his front with all the three women you name. It's a different matter that all three find their ways of rendering his effort mostly futile, but by himself, Kesar truly wants answers, wants to understand why and what is so wrong, and genuinely fix it too - whatever the means and ends. He obviously can't understand his fault, and he seeks it at every corner, without making himself a sorry figure (even when he breaks in his mother's lap) and in many ways his emergence from this rude twist of faith is very promising, and pleasantly unexpected so soon!

Oye Jzee...*Edit: Never mind...just saw your post in the other thread😆...yeah I know of spln...I've met her in another forum...R.com😆

I was also pleasantly surprised with how Kesar dealt with the issues today...like you said, he is constantly searching for answers...although none of these three women could give him those answers...but he is always EARNESTLY asking and he puts forth his viewpoint so simply...that is why none of these women have an answer...least of all Gulaal...lol

I want to see Kesar have a talk with Motabha now...and I wonder what Daaibaa's viewpoint on this situation would be as well.

Lol - yeh that was a mix up! Gogz (spln) and I are very distantly related, but much more like great friends with little taste to share in common 😆

But that aside, yeh man - Kesar was a pleasant shocker today. Thumbs up to the CVs to not drag his misery and beat around the bush but actually have him pull himself together. Come to think of it, with a character like his, it seems quite likely that he would question himself till he had his questions right, and then having been the baby of the house forever and ever, seek his answers in candid unaffected ways. Gul wont be giving him answers anytime soon, I presume, but I don't know if I hold her to blame. Talli can't - she doesn't even understand half the gravity beyond her own loss. PaanBaa should have been the one, pity she didn't rise to the occasion that came to her on a platter (as Shely aka lovtv said in a post of hers)...

Still, all in all, a good episode. The story moves, the characters don't stagnate, and tons of cues promising more movement of plot in coming days - while not giving away any glaring hints (read: unlike AnYa confession *gag*) of what to expect. I mean technically, we know the end of every love story on Indian TV is the coming together of leads. What sets one show apart from the other is the journey. So there.

Nice to see logical Kesar back, and he did come to take her back home - Gulaal's dad was right on two things 😳 and that indeed everyone misses her and the house is not the same without her
I agree with everything here
Esp what Kesar said with his mum and then to Gulaal, and it needed that jolt and thinking in Gulaal and so on... those question he has raised what will she think and say and i rather liked that we are gonna get a father/daughter moment, at this time - i do believe its something that Gulaal needs, comfort and some advice and talking to, coz i dont think Poonambha is the best person for it lol
Would it really be sin if he wasnt Vasant's little bro... is it just that he is Vasant's bro and even that she has SEEN him as a child as well, (we all know it was going to be hard for any woman to see another man or look at another man if they were broken in love and widowed) i am sure she will bring that up soon, anything to put a defence up i guess, which i dont think is wrong in what she is saying but even Kesar is not wrong - he is not wrong at all, because as he said, he is married to her and its been official declared or why cant he love her and so on... from that pov he is not wrong but i have said there is alot of issue around the situation that he needs to understand as well, and Gulaal to understand Kesar as well, both need to understand each other...

LOL...little taste to share in common? I presume she has no interest in Gulaal then, correct?😆

As for Kesar...my feeling is that among all these ppl, if anyone can given him an answer, it's Motabha...I feel he'll approach the situation better than these women...and let's not forget...he too went through a deeyarvattu...I mean the only MALE member of the family to have gone through it😆...but let's see what the creatives show.

I'm liking the pace at which the story is moving...they don't spend like days on end moping and crying and stagnating the story pointlessly...*touchwood*...Kesar had his breakdown but then he gathered himself again and came to get her...he's definitely not giving up without a fight...and since the battle involves her thought process, her soch...it's going to be a long drawn one...how long can she really fend him off with her vague excuses? She herself doesn't know fully why she's running away...she can't make a general sweeping declaration of "paap" and get away with everything...and that's what Kesar is asking her as well.

I do wonder though...what would be the best way to get to Gulaal?? Let her be by herself for a bit and give her time to think or make sure that she is back in Kesar's house so that they both get to have more interaction? Obviously she can't magically accept him overnight as her husband but they need to reach some sort of middle ground to start with...some sort of compromise...which I can't figure out as of now...cuz Gulaal has all her shutters closed down tight and is unwilling to listen to anything...she can't be forced into changing her way of viewing Kesar all of a sudden either.
