Ranbir won't let Nargis lose her voice

Surprising? Not really. Smitten by Nargis Fakhri's performance, Ranbir Kapoor stands up for his co-star and insisted that her voice shouldn't be dubbed in Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar.

Ranbir has been telling his close friends that Nargis has given an award-worthy performance in Rockstar, and he thinks that she can go on to win the National award for her role.

It's a known fact that actors don't win National awards for dubbed performances. Hence, plans of dubbing the actress' far-from-fluent Hindi diction have now been reluctantly abandoned.

Our source told us, "Imtiaz had decided to dub Nargis' voice in the film, as he had dubbed Giselli Monteiro in Love Aaj Kal. But, when Ranbir saw her performance he put his foot down. He argued that she would lose all her chances of winning any awards if her voice was dubbed. So now efforts are being made to pass off Nargis' Hindi diction as that of a desi girl."
