Anushka had a meh personality when she entered the industry. Over the period she has changed her style and attitude. She is honest not rude and actually makes sense in her interviews in comparison to others' gobbledygook and political correctness.
I hope that she moves away from the comfort zone of YRF and tries something different. Her Punjabi overdose is dreary now.
Anushka is definitely better than other newcomers but I doubt her versatility. In mainstream bollywood, an actor needs charisma and she lacked that. Despite the superhit status of the film, she was completely ignored in her debut and that too in an SRK-YRF film. She was just okay-ish in Badmaash Company. It took a Band Baaja Baaraat for everyone to finally even talk about Anushka. Well! as they say, better late than never. Suddenly she is hobnobbing with the best in the industry and is confident of her abilities. She played the character to the T. I can't think of anyone from the current lot (barring Kareena) who could have nailed Shruti Kakkar the way she did. I do think that she deserved appreciation in the form of an award for that character.
