GULAAL ON VASANT
He was totally bowled over by her capability to find water and her selflessness to come to the rival village.
Though I haven't watched the show when it actually started, I have seen all the episodes to date after Neil's entry in the show just to understand the show and the Kesar-Gulaal dynamics better.
Being a girl, she hesitated to go against her dad's wishes, so she hesitated. She was selfless and she had the heart to help villagers
My opinion: What I felt was Gulaal did not agree first to accompany Vasant, but when Vasant saved Revji Ba's life, she went ahead and came to Talsagra. She owed Vasant a favor for saving her dad's life. For a girl, her father's well being mattered. Hence she gathered all the courage to accompany Vasant. She asked her mother not to tell her dad about this because she cared for her dad's health who was just recuperating.
GULAAL ON PARENTS IN LAW
They both have been influenced by her water-diviner qualities too. Both have always given in to her needs because they believed in her good qualities of taking care of family.
Argument in favor of Gulaal: She was the perfect daughter-in-law.
My opinion: No one dares say anything against her wish, because once when Motaba did try, she decided to leave the house instead. Fearing that they would hurt Vasant if they did anything that would hurt Gulaal, the family gives in to her decisions.
GULAAL ON KESAR
Kesar has always been in awe of her ever since she and Vasant dug out the water from the arid land. As a child what mattered to him most was that his friends were leaving Talsagra. For a young mind, that was a huge issue. Gulaal was someone due to whom his friends stayed back. When Vasant died, his parents were unavailable, Gulaal was there to support him and the love she gave him has survived him to this date.
Argument in favor of Gulaal
She wanted no harm for Kesar who was Vasant's dream. Selfless.
My opinion:
With Kesar too, she has always bullied him saying she would leave to make him do things. The child was by then so emotionally attached and dependant on her and his way of keeping his Vasant Ba's thoughts alive was Gulaal. So he too is still bound to her.
GULAAL ON DUSHYANT
Dushyant fell for her external beauty and her brains too.
Argument in favor of Gulaal: Admire her single minded "Shraddha" or devotion for Vasant and only Vasant.
My opinion
By keeping quiet about his doings, she has not even given him a chance to repent in a dignified manner. I have heard him say to Sudha'..Yeh toh sazaa dene ke liye bhi taiyaar nahi hai. Even if he wanted a chance to admit to his guilt which he did try many times, she has dissuaded him from it. When Motaba came back home, he was almost confessing but citing his health, she didn't allow. Later too, he is feeling bound to continue this way because he feels having killed Vasant its his duty to work day in and day out to try doing the same things which Vasant would have done had he been alive.
GULAAL ON TALLI
Talli is influenced because according to Talli, she was adopted by her and given a place to stay.
Argument in favor of Gulaal
Good deed. Selfless.
My opinion
Even when Talli knows that Gulaal is Kesar's official wife (the scene during that Rudrabhishek was an awakening), Talli still behaves as though she owns Kesar just because she blindly believes Gulaal and she knows that the family or Kesar for that matter will never say no to Gulaal. Talli lives only on the hope that Gulaal gives her.
GULAAL ON VILLAGERS
The villagers wanted her to stay on in the village for fear of losing water had she left to her village following Vasant's death.
Ultimately Gulaal's behavior has only one reason. VASANT.
Whatever was her reaction to Talli wearing Chunar, or whatever, even today she is willing to give that holy thread away to Talli. Her MIL told her that she had to do it for Kesar's long life as she is bound by the ritual through Deeyarvatu. Half-hearted dedication is not going to help.
Personally, I am religious but not too ritualistic. Isn't it her duty if her MIL told her that she completes all the rituals associated with the Puja if she really cared for his well being??
