CD & Neerja

Usually men observe vrats and do puja AND MANY INTERESTING ONES BUT THEN IT WILL TAKE LOT OF TIME AND SPACE TO GIVE ALL THAT.for the benefit of family to keep away vighns and for the gereral benefit of all and women supposed to do for husband 😆 and his long life etc there are some which are done by both but according to hindu tradition it is believed that even if the woman does not do puja she shares half the benefit (punya) of the husband's prayers and alternately the husband also responsible for half the paap done by his wife.

Thank you Chalhov for this thread. Because of CB we have enhanced our knowledge about the various festivals and rituals, thanks to so many esteemed and knowledgeable members.
The Vat Savitri episodes of CB1 are some of my favorites. I wonder if that magic can be created again in CB2 😕

lovely! chalov- we, in the south commemorate this vrat and Savitri's story on the first day of our Panguni month that usually falls in the middle of March (Tamil calendar- luni-solar) We keep fast and eat a special dish made with black-eyed peas and rice flour, salt and sweet called Karadai. The nombu is called after the dish- karadaiyan nombu. We also feed it to the cows.
