Yeah, foreigners should learn how an interfering parent forces his own son to marry a girl of parents' choice and when that doesn't happen, he asks him to leave the home because of class difference. Indian parenting is all about teaching children how to disrespect the underprivileged and take over family business shunning your own dreams. Parampara and all that jazz.

My parents are more like the ones in Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na and I think they are not much different from other thoughtful parents everywhere.

If the person is just interested in watching a typical bollywood film then

DDLJ & HAHK (Off the top of my Mind)

If the person is interested in a good Indian film then

36 Chowringhee Lane & Mr. and Mrs. Iyer (also some good Bengali and Malayalam films- it's anyway subtitles)

OMG soo trueee! to this day i am surprised when they call their parents B***** and yell at them and tell them to shutup. i'd be long dead if i said something like that 😆
