I dont get why some people are comparing Gulaal with Phulwa while the contexts are entirely different a 30+ man marrying a 10- kid is really absurd. Even if she grows up she will only have a fatherly feeling towards him and he may later regret for the deed.

At the same time the case of Gulaal is something different. An age gap of 5-6 is very common among couples and it is accepted widely. A generation gap does'nt exist between them unlike the above.

As the age gap grows from 12,15+ it would be natural for a human to feel a parental affection rather than as a lover towards the other.

An age gap of 5,6,8 falls almost under the same group esp if both are adults and is natural and common to fall in love in this case.

Gulaal is a young woman not a middle aged and Kesar is a young man and so they makes a natural couple, their age gap is not a case of even discussion when compared to Phulwa.

When comes to maturity, Vasanth with Kesar's present age was more matured than Kesar. Gulaal is more matured than her age (we know why is it so) and even more matured than Sudha who is elder to her and it is natural for woman to be more matured than man even of the same age and (the best example is Krishna-Pratigya(I think)) and the Gulaal serial is far acceptable than the novel regarding the age gap and the relation shared by the leads.

Kesr bring immatur has lot do with his mental/emotonal stat since very young age and knowingly or unknowingly Gulal maiya is responsible for it. Poor Kesu, no body absolutly no body ever tried to understand his situation. He tried to open up with Gulal but Ms.Know It All chickened out.

Kesuda grew up believing in his relationship with Gulal as husband-wife, otherwise he coula have fallen in love with someone else when he was away from home. Gulal miya will ask him to marry that brainless Talli😡

mmm... you know I started watching after the 10yr leap but the odd clips that I did catch of gulaal and kesar shows that a bond was there, seems to me kesar would have fallen in love with gulaal anyway, whatever the name for there bond/attachment was, it grow in to love for kesar as he watched her when no one else looked ie combing her hair, running in the forest, praying. but as I write this Im also thinking that if vasant had not died would he still have fallen for gulaal, I suspect yes, he would. Age is a word when compared with emotions, the old saying, you cant help who you fall in love with. even when vasant was alive kesar still demanded gulaals attention, its only now kesar has began emtionally asking for his rights.

the point im making is that kesar would not have had the time or enthusiasm to search another love as gulaal has always been in his blood
