welll said mystica..

trp ratings could be based on sample data...but that is quite important for directors. T and D should know that PURAB is the hero as lot of it is based on that..

smisha,if you only go by tpr to decide Purab is the hero, then probably we can also say Kkusum is the most ppopular heroine of Sony!!!!!!!!😔

U may not believe it but yes kkekta's serials still rule. she knows how to hook ppl. BUT she is getting totally disgusting nowadays. i feel sorry for 'men' given the way she is potraying them. if u believe ekta men are the worst species on earth.

What about the people who tape episodes of JJKN and watch them later with their families and friends who have not seen them before?

What about people who live abroad and rent tapes from Video Stores or the ones who get signals illegally from Satellite Dish Networks? Do these illegally transmitted signals get included in the ratings if people are not official subscribers of Sony?

Sony and T&D Singh are more concerned with total collections. TRPs are important, but in the end its the bottom line (net profit) that matters.

ppl who tape episodes dont matter cuz everyone knows we will forward the commercials. ppl who live abroad may matter to the overseas wing of the channels. but they cant make the kind of money they make in india thru a few nris.
coming to question if sony is making money thru jjkn. i think they definitely are. if u notice the commercials on kkusum are less than jjkn. trps definitely dont give a complete picture. many ppl agree. but what is happenning is SET's rival star plus is showing these trps and attracting advertisers. this way SET is losing out due to less trps.
fortunately for JJKN there is no other new hit show on sony. indian idol is there..but will it really last. not many ppl i know have really liked the show. so SET is desperately trying to find a truly hit show.

one more thing to add..trps dont give complete picture but do give a general idea abt the popularity of the show.

I would say the number of commercials in a show actually reflects it's true popularity and also the kind of ads featured give a general picture of the category of ppl that watch the show. The advertisers spend an astronomical amount of money to get a slot in the most viewed show and that's why a lot of research goes into finding out the best exposure platform for a particular add. That is why we see more adds in some shows than others.

Try checking out the hit movies on telly.Commercials make a movie like Lagaan a 5 hr affair.
