Part 30

Recap; Maaneet are still enjoying their honeymoon.

The hotel ballroom was full of couple's dancing. Maaneet were slowly moving to the music. Maan intensely kept looking at Geet who was dressed in a white sari. "Geet I could get use to this, you're making Maan Singh Khurana lazy in your love".

"Maan behave yourself, kuch sharam kejiye".

"Sharam kis se apni biwi se?"

"Maan aap aise yaha behave kare get oh main aap se baat nahi karoo gi".

Geet rested her head on his chest and both got lost in each other's arms. Maan took her back to their table. "Geet main zara fresh hoke atta hoon hmmm?"

Geet sat their awkwardly waiting for Maan to come back suddenly a goodlooking man came and sat on her table.

"Hi my name is John". Geet looked on nervously "Ji?".

"If I'm not mistaken you are Geet from Culcutta". Geet knew he was referring to her as a tawaif. She quickly answered. "Nahin I'm Mrs Maan Singh Khurana". John looked on suspiciously. "Dekho don't act smart with me I know you're the prostitute Geet."

"Dekhiye mere pati mere saat hain aur agar unne pata chal gaya ke aap mujse baat kar rahe hain toh aap ki khair nahin". John looked at her with a smirk.

"Scuse me aap koun?" Maan eagle eyed John. "I'm John".

"And?" asked Maan with his trademark attitude. "And I was asking your..."

"My wife!" Maan finished his sentence off impatiently. "Yeh that she seems like someone I know from Culcutta, a tawaif called Geet".

"No she is Maan Singh Khurana and could you please see youself away".

"She your wife you must be joking! Tycoons like you just use these call girls. I must say she is something else isn't she?". Maan grabbed his collar and punched him one. John got up and wiped his bloodied mouth "Truth hurts a respectable person like you marry a girl like her? That is not possible".

Maan looked at Geet who was sobbing yet again. Maan grabbed John and beat him till the hotel staff grabbed him and told him to stop. Maan grabbed his jacket and pulled Geet and went to their room.

"Mera ateet mera peecha nahin chore ga" cried Geet on her bed.

"Geet just shut up!"

"Maan kiya zaroorat ti usse maarne ki, wo bol raha tah aur bolne dete".

"Haan bolne deta, Maan Singh Khurana ki koi izzat nahin, aaj taj, aaj tak Maan Singh Khurana ko koi oonchi baat bhi nahin kar saka aur tumari waja se aik lafange larke ne muje itna kuch suna diya" Maan spoke angrily. He went to change and stopped talking to Geet. Geet kept repeating his words that she was the reason of his humiliation. Her past affected him so much. Geet changed and Maan had already closed his eyes and turned around on one side of the bed.

Geet shut the light and lay in bed. Maan was awake and was upset he said such hurtful things to Geet. Geet lay their thinking. Suddenly she started sobbing and Maan realised and turned her around "Geet?". Geet fell in his arms and hugged him "Maan muje yaha nahin rehna, muje wappis le chalo". Both fell asleep as soon as they made up. But this was a teacup to the storm that was ahead of them coming soon.
