The point has not been taken. My nephews cried when India lost to South Africa in the world cup despite a mammoth total. Children do not know the difference between a loss and a win. It was totally heartbreaking.
ALL the children of India need to win. Not the specific few, be it TN or Bangi.
Children are the future. Adults the past. We have the maturity to accept loss or heartbreak, children just don't. On the tv, on IPL, the same nephews told me that the only reactions magnified are that of pretty women, not the real fans of cricket. Or IPL.
Why do the broadcasters focus only on Pretty Zinta when Gilchrist smashes the runs?
How does her reaction matter? What does she know about cricket? Just giving speeches and motivating good players with looks does not matter. It is the knowledge of the game. Similarly Shilpa Shetty, or that deccan chargers owner.
Show the reactions of children instead. The happiness or sadness instead. They are our future cricketers. And our reason for hope.
