When you step out of the house, are you drenched in sweat? Scorching temperatures leads to a clammy and mercurial you. Most of us end up being stuck in out air-conditioned rooms watching re-runs of 'Friends'. City celebs give us wacky ways to beat the heat:

l Pick up a chilled watermelon, my baby Zeke and go for a cool swim.-Maria Goretti,
TV anchor.

l Make work fun – call all your friends over and do a group car-wash. Hose each other down and have a party. -Minissha Lamba, actor.

l Take a leaf of fresh aloevera, put in the fridge, blend it and apply it all over your face. You feel like you've hit paradise! -Mini Mathur, TV personality.

l Soak in my tub with ice-cold water! -Ashmit Patel, actor.

l Watch a movie at Fame Adlabs. Don't forget to book seats in the reclining sofas where you get a blanket and cushion. You'll freeze! -Natassha, TV actor.

l Take a massive ice-pack and put it on your face. When I was at a hostel, I would sprinkle chilled water on the bed and floor.-Mona Singh, TV actor.

l Curl your tongue and inhale through your mouth. Sounds bizarre but it's the scientific way of cooling your system. This is the sheetali sitkari pranayama.-Rashmi Uday Singh, food critic.

l A mint exfoliation is your best bet. It's so cooling; apply a lot of cologne and you'll love it.-Rahul Dev, actor.

l I lie on the cold, marble floor with my dogs in an air-conditioned room and sip on some cool drinks.-Mandira Bedi, television personality.

l Keep a small cooler with ice cubes around at all times. When the heat gets unbearable, pop an ice cube into your underwear. -Nikhil Chinapa, deejay.

l When I just came to Mumbai, I didn't have money to even repair my old fan. So I would soak my bedsheet in water, squeeze out the water and sleep on it. -Iqbal Khan, TV actor.

l Get a private villa with a pool, dump a lot of ice in it and skinny dip with your lover. It's sure to turn the heat off and then on.-Marc Robinson, compere.

l Remove all clothing and stand in the sun everyday between 10 am to 4 pm. After day two, either you will not be around at all for the summer or you shall get used to it.-Cyrus Sahukar, veejay.

l There's nothing like a cold nimbu paani. If you still can't handle the heat, just add some coconut or cashewnut feni to it and the heat won't matter.-Ehsaan Noorani, music composer.

l I can drink around six glasses of iced tea at a go. As a little kid, I would only be on a diet of golas during summer. Of course, my parents hated it! -Himesh Reshammiya, music director.

l Walk around wearing a cap with a portable fan.-Luke Kenny, director.

l Surround yourself with cool chicks. The only problem is that you can't make out the cool ones from the hot ones.-Prahlad Kakkar, ad-man.

l Work! I'd get into my air-conditioned room, sit down with my guitar and make music.-Rabbi Shergill, musician.

l Think cool - it works best. I always carry an iced flask of lemonade with me. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!-Zafar Karachiwala, theatre actor.

l Swim in a pool of lassi!-Sharad Kapoor, actor
