What he said is true enough. Like it or not, Ash IS the only recognisable Indian face in the West. Nobody gives a rat's ass about SRK or Aamir or Salman or AB Sr. Case in point: Mallika Sherawat, Sonam Kapoor, Minisha Lambha and Saif were at Cannes this year and didn't so much as even get mentioned anywhere in the international press. Deepika Padukone was there last year, so were Hrithik and the Kites team and they all went unnoticed. Preity and Karan Johar were there a couple of years ago... none of them had any impact...

It's unfortunate, really, because personally I think there are loads of better actresses and people associated with the film industry who are better suited to represent India.
