Ek Saal Pura Ho Gaya...Apne SNS Ko...
Its was the show which was an Underdog among the Television Giants but turned out to be The Strongest among all. As it remained at the Top on TRP Charts for 5 consecutive weeks.

Its a show which made 07:00 PM time slot as important as other Prime Time slots and now its considered as Early Prime Time Slot.

Its a show which gave us Mind-blowing actors like Rupal Patel, Giaa Manek, Md. Nazim, Rucha Hasbanis and Many More to whom SNS gave the chance to Shine into the Sky of Tely Land.

And now each of them is a Very Well Known Face and A Familiar Name in most of the Families all over India.

Also Gopi's Saarees (double color saarees) are now in demand, her style of draping the saaree (seedhe pallu ki saaree) again became a Fashion Statement.

Kokila has become a character with whom every one can relate their Mother's or Mother-In-Laws...as she is a character who is Strict but loves her DIL and wants her to be Strong, just like a mother.

Aham...sorry no one wants to relate anyone around with him but he is An Eye Candy, A Treat For Eyes To Watch or to Stare, or To Drool. So till now he is mere a Cardboard Cutout but i'll say An Eye Catching Cutout.

Team Saathiya shoot in Switzerland only telly serial who got such a hyped foreign location.

Other than that Star Parivar awards have created history in the Indian Television by going international and organising the award ceremony out of India in Venetian Macau on 3rd April, 2011. Surprised SNS will soon complete it's first birthday...and the birthday gift to the SNS cast n crew is a shooting schelude in Switzerland. Now lets do a rewind and look back to watch what the viewers had in store apart from the much stretched Kinjal's engagements,pregnancy and at last the marriage drama to Dhaval . Oh! let's not forget the Tom & Jerry series between Kokila, Rashi...and the ever ready kalakari from Urmila.
We also witnessed the marriage of Ahem-Gopi and Jigar-Rashi...but both these marriages has not yet been a success... Gopi has proved to be good vau but Rashi is unsuccessful in tat too.We also saw the entry of Nani and her sandook...which created some sensational changes in Kokila...who is taken the challenge to bring Gohem together by hook or crook...the beginning to this Gohem milan ..was Ahem's birthday celebration..which ended up in a complete disaster.

Most of the other characters ..especially the men..are cardboard cut-ups...minimal dialogues n screen time.How can I end this rambling without mentoining the revamp of Gopi for a week.

Now some good moments we enjoyed ...the holi festival...Gopi under the influence of the bhaang...expressed her love to a preplexed Ahem...who was sppechless throughout the confession. Gohem now are back in the same bedroom but still separate.

As usual their is not much to say about the costume or jewellery...I end in anticipation over the trip in Switzerland and whether there will be a Gohem mahamilan after all.

Gopi Aham's story is just like A Mills and Boons Novel. Where till the you feel that yes Hero and Heroine have to fall in love even when they are poles apart. So just the same way we are hoping n wishing that one day our Aham Dikra will Accept-Admit-Announce his feelings for Gopi.
So here we are to celebrate one year of their Sizzling Chemistry, But in Hatke Andaaz not with words but with VMs...so below are few VMs for u all to enjoy.

Rashi and Jigar got married not for love but due to rashi
and her mother Urmila's kalakari. It was Ahem's proposal that came for Rashi,
but Kokila chose Rashi's cousin Gopi for Ahem. The mother-daughter duo were
offcourse peeved. They decided to somehow get Ahem's cousin Jigar to marry
Rashi. But their hopes took a blow when Jigar's marriage was to take place on
the same day as Ahem and Gopi with Hetal's friends daughter sonal , that is
before UrShi could even start their kalakari on Jigar. But still try they did.
On the wedding day, they created misunderstandings in the mind of sonal and her
mom and Jigar's marriage was off. Urmila took this opportunity and pulled on a
drama on the wedding venue and finally got the Modi's to accept Rashi for
Jigar. Thus started the RaJi journey together with GoHem. Not exactly a smooth
journey. They decided to be friends first and wait to consummate the marriage.

Slowly offcourse Jigar started developing feelings for his
wife. But Rashi hadnt given him a second thought. All she ever thought was
money and leisure. But her travel wasn't smooth at Modi Mansion as Kokila was
always at her tail. Rashi was so involved in getting rid of Gopi and live in MM
as a queen that she never remembered that she was now married and there are
some duties as a wife that she had to fullfill. But Jigar never rushed her and
always treated his wife i with patience and love. But Rashi didn't even care.
There were many moments when Jigar made a start at her but always Rashi backed and escaped

As days passed, Rashi slowly started caring for Jigar, but
even she wasn't aware of this development. She didn't like anyone throwing
insults at her husband including her mother. But it doesn't mean that she cant
do the same. She had always hated Jigar being treated second to Ahem. She wanted
Jigar to be the successful and wealthy like Ahem. But Jigar on the other hand
was happy to follow his brothers shadow.

The story remains the same even after one year. Now though
jigar is ready to take the big step in their marriage Rashi is found to be
withdrawing, which sometimes irritates Jigar. Rashi always pretend to be sweet
to him to get her things done, but ignores after that. How they finally fall
for each other is definitely a treat to watch as it will definitely show a soft
side on Rashi's otherwise insatiable nature. Hope that the coming Switzerland
trip will bring the two together and they discover their faLlings for each
other.

My friends!

Though I feel that none of the characters in SNS is developed enough to merit an analysis, I will try to analyse what little character Aham has. My first impression of Aham Modi was "Wow! what an eye candy!" and I am sure most of us with a pair of X-chromosomes agree with me. So now you know that I have a soft corner for Aham (credit goes to Nazim and not the CVs). He was introduced as a brooding, hot-shot, no-nonsense businessman running the big Modi empire. Like most of us in the forum, I too was tempted to think him as Mr. Darcy of StarPlus. Do we have a Darcy here or a caricature here?

In this one year, Aham is shown to be an angry and arrogant young man. He insults everybody in the family other than his mother and uncle. He has no care for his sister and in spite of suffering a unwanted marriage, he is forcing her into one just becasue his mother says so. He never acts as the elder brother to Jigar and guide him into the business. His is disappointed in his wife and abuses her routinely. The only positive things about him are his worship of his mother and his success in business. So why does he act so?

Aham is the first child in a business family, though he was born to the younger son. His father had no interest in business and his uncle controlled the business. His mother is ambitious and is upset that she is married to a man with no aspirations in life. So she has brought up her son to fulfil her dreams to control the Modi empire. She has trained him to insulate himself from anything other than his goal. The end result is an educated, elitist, ambitious and arrogant Aham. To me Aham is a half-dimensional character, who is an excellent businessman but has no clue about other aspects of life. He has been taught only to respect money and power. He thinks that his power gives him right to insult and offend those unlike him.

In spite of his education and experience, Aham has never tried to or rather never been allowed to grow as a human. It is very unfortunate none of his family members saw him as anything other than a money-maker. As long as he made money, they didnt care for his behaviour. He is rudely shaken up from his comfort zone when his mother rejects his choice for a life partner and brings an anti-thesis to his choices and dreams. He is emotionally blackmailed into a marriage. My take on his love for Anita is his rebellion against his controlling mother. The actual serial starts at this point.

Unfortunately, I feel that no thought has been gone to developing Aham's character during the changes he faces in his marriage. His character is a dream oppurtunity for a good creator to work on. Instead of developing it, the CVs have made it worse. He is confused as to how to deal with his marriage. Instead of coming to terms with his wife or stand-up to his mother and seperate from his wife, Aham just acts as an escapist and abuser. His initial stand is that he got married as his mother asked and his wife is his mother's headache. He has every right and all the reason to find Gopi uninteresting. But he cannot marry her and then not take responsibility for his marriage.

A few weeks into their marriage, aham knows of Gopi's illiteracy and how does he react? He hits her! And then on, his character goes on a downward spiral. He hates Gopi's timidity but takes advantage of it whenever he gets a chance. He is rude to her at every chance just because he can get away with it. He uses Gopi to save his sister's wedding but never thinks for a second about her marriage. Here, for once, I thought, he got a spine when he stood his ground to send her out. Then he goes from worse to worst. He does an about face and brings Gopi back because he does not have the guts to tell the truth to his Nani. He has no problem to act for his Nani and at the first chance, he again wants Gopi out. Even her drunken confession of her love for him does not make him reassess his opinion of Gopi. I know that many of my friends here think that Aham is attracted to Gopi but his ego is preventing from accepting it. This is a very generous estimite of his character. To me Aham's character is right now downright despicable and I really dont know how the CVs are going to salvage Aham.

Should he love Gopi just becuase everybody else thinks she is good? No. But I want him to treat her as a human and not his punching bag. And, how long will he play victim? When is he going to realise that every right comes with a responsibility? Of course, I will be very happy, if he understands that you dont just fall in love but you just love. As I said in the beginning, I like Aham and do have hopes for him. I hope that all that great looks are not wasted on a poor character. To answer the question is Aham a Darcy, I would say no. Darcy is decisive, responsible, loyal, protective, selfless, romantic, proud and arrogant. Aham is only the last two and definitely not first few. And, he needs to regularly include humble pie with his green tea.

I have to add here that in spite of all this analysis, I believe strongly that the focus of SNS is the saas-bahu relationship, kitchen politics and kalakaari. So as much as I hope they build Aham's character, I also realise that it might never happen unless the TRPs favor it.

Gopi- the main female protagonist of serial sns , her name truly goes well with her personality says all things which she is actual in her life –devotion.. Devotion towards every relation, work and her almighty and not to expect anything in return.. This is our sweet adorable nave innocent Gopi Vahu from SNS..

This girl story is mostly likely Cyrendella story that become orphan in her childhood and left into custody of her maternal uncle. But as expected things does not turn out rosy in her life, her childhood was barred from all wonderland days, in fact she was not able to get her basic right of education thus left illiterate all through her life living life of maid in her mama's house from her younger years, till she got married for her mami she got the free maid in form of her sister in law daughter and reserve bank deposit from left over pension of Gopi's father. Still being positive towards her life Gopi has only one dream that to get loving and caring husband, as she grew up when right time came for her marriage she was again put in kind of jail where instead of love she was used more as a puppet to be demo as good vahu, Avoid from her husband's love as she is not his first love plus he did not look her appropriate enough to be his wife because of her low status and basically because of illiteracy. Time and again she was insulted by her husband for various reason and when she saw a hope in her relationship she got another shock that her husband want her to be out from his house, as a dutiful wife she took step ahead in same direction for her husband's happiness, but again called back in her In laws house again for a show up in front of her husband's nani. Her happiness in all those things which make her husband happy so without questioning back she turn up back as a gud daughter in law and adorable wife. But it said that how much u try truth cannot be hide for long. Same happens in case of gopi her strained relation appear in front of Ahem's(Gopi's husband) nani and there she declared her as not righteous vahu to hold future right of her sandook. This put her MIL mind at right place and makes her understand that's its high time when Gopi get her deserving right. Gopi though not educated but very intelligent and skillful which she proved number of times. She stills a target of her mami though her MIL tries to act her guardian. Since the girl did not what's her right as a human being thanks to her evil aunt and her wicked ideas which spoiled her childhood and created problem in her married life. Seeing her positive attitude towards life make us positive too that gal will get all her rights one day and especially love of her husband

Jigar Chirag Modi, a loving and devoted grandson, son, husband, brother, and devar.

Jigar is very loving towards his Devki Ba, whom he calls by her first name sometimes just to tease her and get a laugh out of her, because she had once told him that he reminds her of his Dadaji. Perhaps that is the most endearing quality of this second son of Modi Parivar. He is most adoring and lovable when he is interacting with his Ba

Jigar loves and respects both his parents. He looks up to his father Chairag. He is a product of his genes and upbringing. He gets his laid back attitude from his mother Hetal. Just like his mother, he has yet to learn that turning a blind eye to something does not mean it does not exist. That a smile and that java de or rehne do attitude does not fix the problem, but it reinforces a negative attitude.

Jigar is married to Rashi Modi, whom he loves despite the circumstances of their marriage. They are both opposite of each other. Rashi is selfish and greedy, while Jigar is very giving and does not care for material things. His father is rich, but he does not expect to recieve anything for free. He does not resent the fact that his older brother is given things without asking, and continues to respect and look up to his older brother.
The most irritating quality of Jigar is he refuses to acknowledge, even to himself, that Rashi is not what she potrays herself to be to him and to rest of the family.

Jigar is very much devoted and loving to his younger sister Kinjal, whom he has stood by through good times and bad. He supported and stood by his sister through the tough times during her marriage and continues to stand by her and support her after her marriage.

Jigar looks up to his older brother as a role modelAhem, on many ocassions they are seen jogging together. Ahem may not be nice to Jigar, but Jigar is always nice to Ahem and helps him with whenever he needs it.

The second most endearing quality of Jigar is the way he stands by Gopi. It was Jigar who had defended Gopi's action during the thief incident while Koki was scolding her. He encouraged Gopi not to loose hope, and it was Jigar who had attempted to talk to Ahem to not let Gopi leave the house.

While most of Jigar's qualities are endearing, but at the time they are also very irritating, especially when he uses the same laid back, happy go lucky attitude when dealing with his wife Rashi, who doesn't deserve such a nice and sweet person like Jigar for husband.

Raashi is a pampered
girl, raised lovingly by her parents, Jeetu Bahi and Urmila Shah.

Her mother has never allowed her to raise a finger. Since childhood, she had been raised to treat her cousin Gopi as her own personal maid. Because of this, Raashi has never learned to be sensible or responsible.

Raashi is childish, seeking instant gratification in any situation. She is demanding in the things that she wants. If her demands are not fulfilled she can become downright malicious and throw tantrums. She is loyal, but
only towards her mother. She feels no loyalty or any attachment towards anyone
else. This is a result of her mother's upbringing. Her mother made her entirely
reliant and dependant on her or Gopi for everything, hence her mother always takes the primary role in her life. While Gopi always remains the person Raashi turns to when she is either distressed or angry.

Raashi has expensive tastes. She likes to live the high life. She has always wanted a comfortable life, similar to her peehar, where people wait on her hand and foot. She wants to be pampered with jewels and riches and fine clothes. Her biggest frustration is that her husband doesn't earn enough to fulfill all these big dreams. She, though is lucky, but is hardly appreciative enough of her wonderful husband, Jigar Modi, and even more wonderful mother in law, Hetal Modi.

Raashi can be very determined when she sets her mind to things. This usually means some trick that she means to play on Gopi. But in the instance of when Raashi was given the keys to the house, along with the responsibility, she put her entire heart and soul into all her tasks, trying to prove herself in everyone's eyes. There is a smidgen of good inside of Raashi. She is hurt easily when she truly tries and fails. She can be caring and she can be sweet.

But she is Raashi, she does it on her terms.

Dhawal came into Saathiya like a bang. The Star News had already whetted the desires of many to meet this new guy coming on the show. Everyone was agog to see how he would look and the role he would play in the show. The common verdict was that he would be a strong contender for Gopi's affections and there would be a rivalry between Ahem & Dhawal. Nothing of the sort happened.
The opening scene of his arrival was Kinjal throwing out Umang's bouquet and Dhawal being welcomed with flowers thrown at him. Look wise he was not impressive but he had a warm smile. His dialogue "Best and Best "was hilarious. No one can forget his eyes opening wide seeing the MB for the first time. Who can forget the scene where, when, he decided to get married to pregnant Kinjal, taking and giving a laddu extra for the baby? The drunken Dhawal during Holi incident had us in stitches. He stood his ground with Elesh. Many were upset with Elesh going away from the show and mad with Dhawal for taking his place. As the show progressed viewers realized his endearing qualities. What qualities of this funny guy do we remember with fondness as Saathiya celebrates its first birthday?

• Loving, Grateful nephew to his Aunt Urmila for looking after him.

• Very caring and giving nature (Urmila taking all his money on pretext of marriage expenses)

• Fun loving and a complete contrast to stiff upper lipped Modis(Remember the patang flying incident and during the cricket match
• A good Pati to his arrogant proud Patni
• Thinks his wife is the best and best
• Forgiving (when Kinjal insulted him in front of her friends by calling him her driver)
• Took his wife out for drives and movies unlike the Modi sons
• Didn't fight with Kinjal or his Fai for using his credit card and overspending
• Stood up like a man in front of Kokila and said he would work hard to give all comforts to Kinjal (AC Incident)

Dhawal is considered by many to be the male version of Gopi.Well, there is couple of similarities between them
Both are not educated though Dhawal has more education than Gopi
Both are very nave and trusting
Love their partners madly
Cannot be firm and say No to demanding spouses
Very loving and caring towards others
Unselfish and put others needs before their own
Puppets of Urmila
Both their partners hate them and consider them as inferior
Both have cute smiles
Both are short

Dhawal is a unique guy. He has a great heart because he decided to marry a girl who was pregnant with someone else's baby. When he overheard about Kinjal's fake pregnancy he wanted to call the wedding off. After the wedding too he showed his love for his wife and looked after her needs. He took her out to movies, bought her gifts and tried to share his life with her. He had the guts to say no to Kokila when she came in to fit the AC's because he felt bad accepting gifts from the in-laws. He wanted to be a man and provide all comforts for his wife with his own paisa. Any man would not have tolerated Kinjal's rude behaviour. He has a lot of patience to put up with his wife's bad behaviour. He's waiting for the day when his wife would accept him. CV"s had given us the impression that his character is going to turn negative but so far that hasn't taken place so far.

A word of advice for you Dhawal "Don't treat your wife with kid gloves and be careful when giving your credit card to the over spenders". Give your best shot always.

Kinjal Modi is the daughter of Kokila Modi and Parag Modi and the sister of Aham Modi. In the show she is shown as selfish, short tempered, narrow minded, extravagant and unable to understand others feelings or emotions. She is shown as always being self centered. Why is kinjal like this? Does nt she love her family? Does nt she have any good qualities?
Kinjal is probably the first girl child in the Modi Parivar after three generation. When a family which desperately wants a girl child, gets its wish fulfilled, it tends to over react. Baa has mentioned that she always wanted a girl in the family, so when kokila gave birth, they had distributed sweets to everyone. Kokila for her part had always wanted everything to best and first for her children. Being the only daughter of the Modi family, Kinjal was petted and pampered into being what she is today.in addition to her parents, she also had her kaka and kaki and brother Jigar to dot on her. Children like her always tend to be selfish and narrow minded. Their world revolves around themselves and their wishes.
The dating background of Kinjal and Umang is not clear. We don't get an idea of how they met and fell in love. Kinjal was probably impressed by Anita's attitude and would have thought that if Aham marries her, then she will be free to marry Umang. Though she fells herself to be in love with umang, it is more an obsession to do what she wants and get it at all costs. It is here that her hatred for gopi starts. Probably her first failure, the marriage of Anita and Aham and the fear of losing aham turned her against gopi. After that whatever she did to bring difference between aham and gopi is purely for selfish reason. She had done all this without thinking about the consequences for her family and particularly for her mother.
Kinjal is a full fledged spoiled brat. Her desire to get whatever she wanted had led her to ruin her life. The match between her and elesh would have been good and her life comfortable if she had the ability to understand between reality and fantasy. Her so called love for umang blinded her to his faults and his plan. She did everything in her power to get the man she loved. Unfortunately she did not choose the right person. If she had shown that much of love towards elesh or someone like him it would have been worthier. When she realized her failure, she did what a normal girl could do – run away. All she thought about is her life and her preference. Even now she believes that umang still loves her and it is her family which had separated them. If umang comes back in her life, she would surely ditch Dhawal and run away with him.

Kinjal might have all these negative qualities. Still deep down she loves her family, her mother and her brother. It is because she is so self centered; she is able to see the true nature of rashi and urmila. If it is not for kinjal's probing those two would have been unmanageable. Only a thief knows another one's technique, since she is mean like rashi and urmi she understands them better than kokila. Because of this there is always a check and fear of discovery in the minds of rashi and urmi. As for her love for her family – during both the danidya event and the cricket match, we can see the worry and tension in her. When aham and gopi win the dance competition, it is kinjal who shouts happily and claps with her heart. When they win the cricket match it kinjal who first jumps with joy. Even though she did not like dhawal she comes back since she had no way, and also becos she knows her mother will suffer. Unlike rashi, kinjal makes her stand clear to dhawal. She does not play with his emotions.
When kinjal realizes her mistakes, she will surely help gopi and start to love dhawal, but her self centered nature cannot be changed, because it is born with her.

Chirag and Parag Modi

Baa's two loving sons, Chirag the elder married to Hetal have one son Jigar. Parag Modi the younger son he is married to Kokila.

Chirag is CEO of Modi enterprises, he has very little interaction with the his family but does love his family alot he is not interested into the running of Modi Mansion. When he is shown he seems to be smiling n nodding his head a lot he does speak much he stands around talking to others looking very serious.

Chirag and Hetal he loves his wife, they seem to have a good relationship.
Chirag and Parag these brothers love each other on the outside but don't know if there is any resentment inside.
Chirag and kokila Chirag when needs to put kokila in her place he does in front of others which she loathes
Chirag and Aham He dotes on Aham so he buys him lavish gifts cars which are not needed.
Chirag and Jigar they are father and son both adore each other and have a good relationship.

Chirag and Rashi he adores his daughter in law and does not see her kalakaris or the way she speaks to his wife or son.

Chirag and Gopi he loves Gopi chai, he barely has any interaction with her

Chirag and Kinjal he loves kinjal as his own daughter but was disappointed with her trickery during the umang pregnancy

Parag Modi the poet the writer husband to the great Kokila Modi when seen he stands around grinning we have heard a bit of his poetry n his wife just mocks him, he loves his family but am sure scared of his wife but when the kinjal fiasco he did show love and support to his wife.

Parag and Kokila As I said parag is scared of kokila because each time he opens his mouth, he ends up shutting it up quickly as well, I am sure he does not know why is wife is always angry with him he does try but is met with harsh words. A marriage that has probably been always like that but at least they produced two children.

Parag and Aham Whenever he tries to have interaction with his son his wife shoos him away. He does not have a relationship with his son at all. Which is very disappointing .

Parag and kinjal Again he is her father but doesn't know about his daughter bad side he just sees her as his precious daughter.

Parag and Hetal I think they have spoken once or twice

Parag and jigar hmmm never seen any interaction (or am I missing it all)

Parag and Rashi nope never cant recall

Parag and Gopi He loves his Gopi, he is extra sweet to her I suppose both are in the same boat except Gopi does have a good relationship with kokila. He adores her singing, her tea. He hates when kokila shouts at her

Chirag needs to have more interaction, instead of kokila seeing about his daughter in laws phone bill he needs to see it, I would also like him to see how Rashi disrespects Hetal especially when she is in the wrong, he should ruffle a few feathers n not just kokilas no more puoch puoch for wife son or dil he should also see the way Rashi uses and abuses Hetal and jigar , its funny how he says things to kokila but never his own wife.

Parag the man is has no brains he stands their smiling like a chesire cat, why not talk to your son your wife discuss with her try and make a little effort. His wife complains that he did not support her then why not support her now never to late, If Chirag was taking his wife to Switzerland why not say let me take my wife somewhere after they come back or say he would like to take his family just him kokila Aham n gopi, he has no status in that house just a person who disappears and comes back once in a while.

My biggest wish for this show is that both families go on separate vacations one after the other it would be a treat to see.

Kokila is married to Parag Modi who is the younger brother in the Modi family. He is an artsy dreamer who likes to write peoms and stories. As the younger brother and one who has dedicated his life to the arts, he does not make any money or hold power in the family. Kokila on the other hand is an ambitious woman who doesn't like the number two position in the family. She recents not holding the money and power in the family. As a result she brought up her son to be more like her ambitious and obsessed with getting ahead in business. Kokila is a very strong willed woman who doesn't put up with any fools. Even though her status in the family is of the younger dil she still rules the Modi household. She loves the ones she holds dear very deeply and dislikes fools just as strongly. She is quick to anger and slow to change. Currently her mission in life is to prove that she made the right choice by picking Gopi for Aham.

Hetal Chirag Modi..Wife of Chirag Modi..Mother of Jigar Modi!

She is different in the Fact that She is very Sweet..in Nature...Very Reserved Very Calm and Cool Person...She has many Weaknesses because of Which Many People Fool her...Her Weakness is that She falls for Some one easily...If a person..talks to her sweetly she falls for that..unknowingly that The Person Is trying to fool Her..He Strength Is her Understanding...Her better Understanding Will help her not to Become a fool...by her Daughter in law..Her character can be made much better...They can make her a little like Kokila...But not exactly like her..She can be Sweet...But At the same time..But Strict..

Urmila...Urmila Matondkar???? or the wife of Lakshman????? Nope, none of the above. Our Urmila is much different then the Urmilas we know. Urimla the negative or the obstacle creator in SNS has found a very special place in our hearts and minds. A place where it gives us heartaches and headaches . But what is a story without a villain, someone got to do it right? Well, Urmila fulfills that character beautifully. When we hate a negative character so much, well that is accomplishment for the actor. Urmila's character is very simple. She is a middle class female, with the hopes of becoming rich, by hook or by crook. She has abused her niece Gopi, a orphan through out her life. She has ruined Gopi's life only to give a better life for her daughter and herself. Do you call it a mother's love or greed? Can't say. She has went as far as trying to kill someone by blasting a pressure cooker to stealing in her own daughter's in-laws house. Sick, I know. But that is the character of Urmila. Her greed went as far as to getting her nephew married to a rich girl that he was unsure of marrying. But what comes around goes around and she got a taste of her own medicine. However, that still doesn't stop our dear Urmila, she continues to think up her "kalakari" to ruin Gopi and the Modi family. For Urmila, nothing matters more then herself. She is a materialistic person that doesn't care who, how and where she gets the things she wants. She herself took a free pedicure when she knew that her daughter lost a opportunity to come to the spa. Instead of not taking the offer, she consoles herself saying "mafad ya chandan, gus mere nandan" . So the value of relationships only matter to her when she is getting something out of it, whether that be her daughter, nephew, husband or niece. But I will say maybe one thing in her defense, which by no means is a excuse for all the crimes she has committed. Urmila's neighborhood. Many times Urmila has complained about how other ladies in her chawl rub their expensive appliances, sarees or other status quo things in her face. Making her feel inferior and poor. A common issue among Indian middle class females. Some have the self empowerment to fight such feelings of negativity to gain the riches and be happy with what they have. Others like Urmila fall into the greed trap and will do anything to become rich. Urmila's influence on her daughter as caused her to become trapped in the chakravyuha of greed. Until they don't face a major change in events that will open their closed eyes, they will continue their "kalakari". The two are doomed, as the rule of life is "what goes around comes around"...

Jithubhai is the breadwinner of the Shah household...husband to Urmila & father to Rashi. Jithubhai is also the guardian to Gopi, an orphan. Jithubhai is a generous,kind n loving man...but all these finer qualities makes him too docile. He is always treated with disrespect by his wife Urmila. Jithubhai spends most of his time in the shop...either to earn more money and make his wife happy or to escape his wife Urmila's scarasm.

Even though Jithubhai wanted to do a lot of things for Gopi, also his niece...he was never able to do it because of his wife and his docile nature... tat wouldn't allow him to confront Urmila. As a father...he tried to do his best for his daughter...but he failed again and never earned the love and respect of his daughter either.The proverb ..."spare the rod and spoil the child"...fits well with Jithubhai...his simplicity made his daughter a spoilt brat.

But Jithubhai enjoys to read and keep himself updated with today's world.Jithubahi is treated with respect at his daughter's sasural. purple flower

Great work friends. It was really a wonderful one year journey. Btw i must really confess, i didnt write Rashi, whenever i started writing abt, all that came on the screen was 'Rashi is beautiful'😆. So my..uh..darling wrote it for me. Atleast she did great justice to it.

What an amazing tribute you put together to celebrate Saathiya"s first birthday! Mind boggling and it's difficult for me come up with words to complement you. Hats off to you. You've done an amazing job in bringing a colorful bouquet of flowers to celebrate the occasion. The different colourful flowery contributions by different writers made this bouquet a very special one.Oh ! I love this bouquet of roses, daffodils, daisies,Venus Fly trap, dandelions, gerberasetc Each writer excelled and complemented one another to bring this perfect tribute.
