Chapter 6:
"Oops? Are you for real? Is that honestly all you can say right now? After all you've screwed up in the past 7 years, the first word that comes to your mind is OOPS?!" Maan scoffed as he stood up angrily and went towards the window.
She walked up behind him, carefully placing a hand on his shoulder, "So you really didn't cheat on me with Naintara? She was just lying to me?" Geet questioned him softly, hesitantly, as realization gradually dawned upon her.
"Do you need me to reexplain the situation or did you actually understand it the first time?" questioned Maan as he slowly turned around. Throwing a disgusted look at her, he pushed her aside, and headed towards the door.
He paused, and yelled out that he would be back soon, and they would go to pick up their kids from school. His kids would find out that they had a father, and they would know who it was, no matter what she thought. And with that, he left the house, slamming the door shut behind him.
Geet placed her hand over her chest, willing herself to calm down, breathe a bit more normally. The anxiety in her had shot up to extreme levels. Maan's anger. Him wanting to tell the kids. What would be possibly do? Would he take them away from her? Would she get a chance to apologize? Make things right between them again?
Holy shit. She had made a mistake. A huge one at that.
Taking a deep breath, she sat herself down on the sofa, her mind a muddle of thoughts, as she realized she really had no idea of what was going to happen next in her life.

Maan stepped outside, and into the snow, pulling the jacket he had grabbed on his way out tighter around him.
The win was piercing his face, as his eyes began to tear up, not only from the cold, but also because of the emotions that were welling up inside of him. He had to figure out what would happen next, what he would do. Of course, he wanted his kids with him, he wanted them to know about their father.
Diya and Dhruv. Those two little angels, perfect angels. He felt a tug in his heart as their smiling faces popped up in his mind. He had promised the two kids that he would play with them in the snow today, after they got home from school. And Maan knew it would be just as fun, if not more, as it had been the night before.
A frown appeared on his face.
He had missed out on six years of his kids' lives. Their birth, their first time walking, their first loose tooth, first day at school, and so much more. And why? All because his wife was too weak to confront him with her suspicions, and instead jumped to her own conclusions.
His brows furrowed in anger.
Geet.
What would he do with her now? Although he would much rather take the kids home, back to India, he knew that he couldn't separate them from their mother. But he really wanted them home, without Geet though.
Maan ran his fingers through his hair, controlling his urge to scream out in frustration. And within seconds, he whipped out his phone and dialled a number. He needed to talk to someone, he needed some serious advice on how to deal with this mess.

Two agonizing hours later, Maan knocked on the door of Geet's house, his mind made up.
Inside, Geet was pacing around, waiting for Maan to come back so they could pick up the kids from school. Their kids, she thought to herself, a smile appeared on her face.
She was all dressed, had her jacket on, gloves, a scarf, a hat, the whole ordeal. And she was ready to go to the school with Maan.
And she had made her decision.
She wanted her husband back. And she would do anything to win him back. Because she loved him, she still loved him after all these years, she had never stopped loving that man, even after she thought he was having an affair. The love of her life. Maan Singh Khurana. And she would get him back.
But would he want her again? Would he be willing to forgive her after her major errors in judgment?
Just thinking about the past made her want to hit herself, how could she have jumped to such conclusions? Why did she come to trust Naintara Rathore? But I saw those pictures... a small voice told her. But Dev had already told her the story behind those pictures.
Right then, she heard the knocking, and bracing herself, she went to open the door for Maan with a smile. And unfortunately, all she found on the other side of the door was a stony faced man, who merely grunted as he saw her.
But she had promised herself, she wouldn't be fazed. She would just have to be patient, and she had to find a way to explain her point of view to Maan, make him understand her fears, her feelings.
And so she smiled brightly in response, "Ready to go?"
Maan obviously ignored her, as he turned around and made his way to the car, leaving Geet alone. She rolled her eyes and after locking the door, followed Maan to the car.
The entire car ride was silent, with Maan utterly lost in his own thoughts, and Geet simply biding her time. She would wait until after he had met the kids and talked to them, because he would definitely be in a better mood after that. Diya and Dhruv would help them set aside their problems, bring a smile to his face, and distract both of them from the tensions temporarily.

"Uncle! You're still here!" Diya screamed, as she ran towards Maan, throwing her arms around his legs.
And Maan's heart lifted as his anger washed away. He bent down to swoop Diya into his arms, picking up Dhruv as well who had also run towards him and was standing there with a small smile.
Geet led the way back to the car, while Diya and Dhruv chatted with Maan about their day at school, competing over who would tell him what. And Maan was immersed in them, not even remotely noticing the sad smile that had appeared on Geet's face, and not at all paying attention to her slouched back, and the sadness that seemed to have engulfed her.
Once they were settled in, Geet drove them all back home, thinking about how well and how quickly Maan had bonded with his kids. And Maan was once again lost in his own world, but this time, with a smile etched on his face. Meanwhile, the kids were whispering to each other in the background, refusing to tell their parents what they were talking about.
"Mom can you put our backpacks inside? We want to play in the snow with Maan Uncle!" Dhruv and Diya screamed, as they quickly unfastened their seat belts and got out of the car.
Geet smiled seeing her kids already jumping in the snow, but quickly began to refuse, only to be met with pouts and the puppy faces of her kids. As she began to give in, Maan cut her off "No guys, not now anyways. Your mom and I have some really exciting news to tell you both and right after that, we'll come outside again! Ok?" he exclaimed, already reaching out to hold the kids' hands and they followed him, making him promise they would play in the snow.
And Geet?
Well of course, she was left to get the backpacks and trail behind her kids and their father.
