Navya review: Young, fresh and sweet!
Navya had some tough shoes to fill, but this new member of the STAR Parivaar has already made a mark in the prime time slot with the audiences.
The brand new show has been successful in keeping the audience glued to the television sets, all thanks to the show's presentation and the new "it" couple, Navya and Anant.
Navya is a sweet, shy girl, well rooted in her family values. She belongs to an upper middle class family and lives with her parents. She has a married elder sister and a younger brother who is always playing pranks on her. Navya's grandmother feels education will ruin her marriage prospects. Like most fathers, Navya's father worries about his daughter's well being, especially after a Valentine's day incident in her college, which created immense tension in her home. Her strict father was so angry with her that he didn't allow her to go to college. Navya is close to her mother Meeta, played by the well known actress, Kshitee Jog and shares a deep bond with her. Kshitee is a refreshing face in the mother's role and watching the cute bonding scenes between mother and daughter is very heart-warming.
The show's male protagonist Anant, belongs to a traditional rich family which upholds all traditional family values. Every member in Anant's family, especially his father and grandfather believe in upholding the family pride and traditions.
Currently, Navya and Anant seem to be developing feelings for each other but are unable to express them as they belong to strict family backgrounds. The presentation of the show highlights their dilemma perfectly. The simple characters, especially the protagonists work well for the show. STAR Plus has found a perfect couple in Navya (Soumya Seth) and Anant (Shaheer Sheikh) and the audiences seem to be thoroughly enjoying the fresh faces, their innocence, chemistry and their developing romance. The show portrays the struggle of today's youth between balancing tradition with modernity.
Navya aka Soumya Seth perfects the emotions of a shy, innocent girl, while Shaheer Sheikh steals the show with his cute looks and effortless acting style.
Apart from Navya and Anant, the supporting cast, especially Navy's friends Ritz and Appy, are well cast and provide comic relief to the show. The camaraderie Navya shares with her two best friends is something to watch out for.
This show will definitely open way for new thoughts amongst the young audience. Navya is a delight for the viewers as they watch the love between Navya and Anant unravel.
Rating:****
Verdict: A must watch. Good entertainment from the young members of STAR Parivaar.
Catch Navya every Monday to Friday at 10 pm only on STAR Plus.
