Two to a tango: Bakhtiyaar Irani and Tanaaz Lal |
It looks like love is in the air in the television industry. Recently actress Tasneem Sheikh and beau Sameer Nerukar walked down the aisle. Now, Tanaaz Lal and Bakhtiyaar Irani will soon follow suit. Irani proposed marriage to his girlfriend Tanaaz on the sets of Jodi Kamaal Ki.
Confirming the news he says: "From the time we started dating, I had thought of popping the question in a unique way."
And that's what he did. He took the director of the show into confidence and even got the script writers to weave in the part just so that he could pose the big question in the way he wanted. What more? The unit boys even arranged for a bouquet of flowers.
"Earlier we had received invitations to appear on couple-based shows. But somehow things didn't materialise. But this time I didn't let go of the opportunity. I went down on my knees and asked her: 'Will you marry me?' Not surprisingly she said 'Yes'. And that was the happiest moment of my life," he reminisces.
Needless to say, Irani's act took his lady love by surprise. "Never in my wildest dreams did I think that he'd propose to me on a set! But knowing Bhaktiyaar, he is capable of doing anything," Tanaaz laughs.
She continues: "I was zapped and also very scared. I didn't know how our parents would react to it. But we have discussed it with our families and they seem fine with the idea. But both of us were serious about each other the day we started dating. We hope to get married towards the end of the year."
Speaking of the wedding, she says: "It will be a typical Parsi wedding. But both our families insist on making it a small affair because they believe that when there are too many guests, one tends to get too busy attending them. Now I hope that everything goes as planned."
