Chapter Twenty
Item Girl
Naku you have to help me, okay I have two weeks rehearse and you have to turn me into Sheila.... pleaded Roops, as she played the video off her laptop sitting on the bed. Nakusha had been in absolute shock when she'd seen the vulgar dance, and to top her shock Roops had dressed so similar to the actress on the laptop screen that Naku was having a hard time guessing if she was the real Sheila or not.
It was afternoon by now, the weekend had begun so Roops had eventually told Naku of her plans to woo Baji and make him hers if he wouldn't take the first step than she will, or at least she will try to seduce him by becoming like the very actress he had preferred because of her dance for a particular song. Naku didn't know where to begin as she could help Roops easily but it wasn't something she was comfortable with, and didn't approve of either, she tried to explain to Roop that this way wouldn't have an everlasting effect on Baji, and she should consider some other type of plain and simple song.
But Roop had refused saying it was Sheila's dance that made Baji head over heels, so I'm going make Baji go head over heels for me to she said in confidence while singing ...Dil karta hai haule haule se..main tho khud ko gale laga lu....what's my name...what's my name...my name is Sheila, Sheila ki jawani...I'm too sexy for you...mein tere haath na aani...no no no no no...Sheeeillaaa..... sang Roops at the top of her head, and trying to do the most famous patented Sheila move ridiculously.
As Baji walked into Roops room without knocking as per habit, he couldn't believe the sight before him, was that Roops or was that Sheila, well which ever one it was... she was looking absolutely sexy and too gorgeous for her own good.... hang on a mintue he thought as reality had hit him, why on earth was Roops dressed like that, she was so vulgar, if he'd placed a finger on her, it was sure to sizzle with the heatwave that was being stirred far and wide from her body.
And than before he knew it, he'd grabbed Roops in anger and forced her to land on the floor, while making her keep her balance from his force to stop her from falling, and than grabbed the whole duvet with his fist in fustration and flared his nostrils, not caring about her laptop go flying to the side almost off the bed which Naku had caught instantaneously, while Sheila still played in the background, and covered her with the duvet aggressively in haste.
Yeh tum kya kar rahe ho Baji, argued Roops trying to remove the huge amount of material off her shoulders.
When Baji argued back what the hell do you think you're doing, dressing like this in such an appalled manner.
When Naku had felt the need to intervene and explain that Roops was taking part in a competition in College where the best dancer would win first prize gaining direct entry into the a state dance competition, and Roop had put her name down for it, and wanted to learn the Sheila dance as her performance.
Baji had heard enough...no way you're not going to do the Sheila dance..no way... do you hear me... he ordered pointing a finger directly in her face, when she retorted and said ...why ever not, what's wrong with it, you said you loved that dance, than why are you stopping me from doing it, she asked irritatingly, and at the same time announced that she will do it with or without his agreement.
This did it for Baji he had got real mad and didn't know how to make this ziddi girl to see sense, and in defeat thought it was a good idea to pull out his gun and point it towards her head and threaten her instead ....aye shaani, agar tu meri baat nahin maanegi na, tho main yeh poori ki poori 6 goliya tere bheje mein udaa dega... samhji kya... he finished thinking he had gotten through to her.
Roops couldn't believe it, Baji had pulled a gun on her... that was it, there was no way he was going to pull a gun on her, she may be in love with him but that mean he could order her around, ....how mean, she shouted wanting to cry like a baby, but instead decided to pull his hair in fustration like a fight children had in school, Baji had been caught by surprise, and at first didn't know how to react to her attack and than realised that he couldn't back down, not from a fight.... so his way of getting her off of him was to start by strangling her while he still tried to hold onto his gun with one hand, this had got on her nerves even more, so she decided to bite him on the arm making him scream in pain loudly, as they both fell back on the bed. Saali, tune mere ko kaata...he said trying to look if she left mark on his skin, ....haan to tumne mujh par bandhook nikali...she argued as she managed to grab him by his hair again while he was busy feeling sorry for himself, but this time Baji had managed to grab a pillow off her bed and started hitting her with it around her head, making her scream like a girl, and at the same time messing up all her well groomed hair, as Baji began saying ...ladki hoke mere se panga legi tu... he shouted thinking he was winning while still beating her with the pillow, but Roop had managed to strangle his neck while she was underneath him anyway but was eventually left with only his shirt collar in her fists, and Baji was about to hit the pillow in her head again which was held above his own head for height for a stronger impact on Roop, but was caught off guard by Dutta, who stood there staring at him without any expression.
What the hell were they doing thought Dutta, as he saw Baji on top of Roops with his legs either side of her over the bed and holding a pillow above his head ready for attack, and Roops lying beneath him with her hair which had definately seen better days and trying to strangle Baji but only had grasp on his shirt collar.... and now they were both staring at Dutta who had been apparently been brought by Naku, as she was standing beside him, they hadn't even realised when she'd left. The poor girl didn't have a clue on how to stop the cat and mouse from fighting, so instead decided to bring Dutta, what an idea thought Baji, just great.
Before Roops could say anything, Baji thought it would be wiser to get in there first, and showed Dutta the bite mark she left on his arm, ...yeh dekho Bhau issne mere saath kya kiya....issne mujhe kaatha Bhau... he said running up to Dutta and giving only one part of the story, when Roops decided she wouldn't stay back, ....Bhau Baji tried to strangle me and he even pulled my hair Bhau, look, she said in defense trying to bring attention to her ruined hair as evidence. She's lying Bhau, said Baji over talking Roops not letting her finish, when Roops and Baji had once again went at each other like cats and dogs shamelessly, but this time Dutta had pulled Baji back, and Naku had tried to control Roops, as they were standing it was a lot easier to get a hold on them.
Dutta had had enough by now and shouted ...bas ! Kya hai yeh sab, ab tum dono bache nahin rahe... he said with his hands behind his back ...yeh kya tamasha laga rakha hai... Baji... tum bolo, he said asking Baji the real version of the story, when Roops tried to intervene Dutta had put his hand up and stopped her from talking and signalled her to let Baji speak first, who was teasing her by making faces at her showing off his victory behind Dutta's back like a child.
Baji knew that once he explained that Dutta's little choti had wanted to do a dance, well more like a item girl.... thought Baji, Dutta would immediately be on his side, and he was right when he heard the full story Dutta had annoucned that Roops was not going to take part in the competition, and also told her that she better be out of those clothes before Aye Sahib saw her, he warned without looking at her, as a sign of his disapproval and left with Baji behind him.
As Baji was following Dutta on his way out, he noticed Roops face which had dropped and it seemed like she was almost about to cry, and he knew that Bhau wouldn't let him stay back after all the trouble he'd just caused, so he gave Naku a look and tried to tell her to pacify her, and also said he'll be back, without Dutta knowing.
Roop had cried her eyes out, how could Baji do that, she cried to Nakusha, who tried to make her see sense but without any success.
Naku had told her that to win Baji, she didn't need to adopt Sheila's avatar, she needed to explain to Baji how she felt being herself, and than after seeing Baji's anger on Roops, Naku had figured that Baji probably didn't want the eyes of strangers wandering over her, but he just didn't know how to express himself, that's all.
When a determined Naku told Roops not to worry, she told her that if she really wanted to dance in that competition than she will, but not to Sheila, to a song of her own choice, that she liked, and one where she wouldn't have to be exposed in such a disgusted manner, where she would look like an angel and so beautiful that Baji would have to be forced to confess his love for her, promised Naku. But Roops couldn't see how, as Bhau had already said no, and his no meant 'no', she feared, but again Naku told her she will handle it, and told her to wear something more appropriate, and get ready for training, as they didn't have much time on their hands, it was less than two weeks away.
Nakusha had managed to convince Dutta somehow, and promised him that Roops would not do anything that would defame her or the family, and instead told him to allow Roops to learn and explore a new talent and encourage her in taking part in this competition, and to support her along with the rest of the family. He told her there was also wedding preparations going on too, how would she cope with all the pressure, but Naku had assured Dutta and Baji, that she will help Roops in the best way possible.
The bastiwale are saying that this man is deliberately picking up these girls until they tell the whereabouts of that particular girl the policewala is after Bhau... said Baji, did they say anything about this man who's forcefully taking the girls, asked Dutta. Nahin Bhau, lekin uss waqt Ravi aaya tha jab bastiwale baat kar rahe te mujhse, aur aisa laga ke woh log Ravi se pehle mil chuke hai Bhau... added Baji.
Baji had eventually found out about Ravi being Supriya's bodyguard, but decided to not say anything as he weren't getting paid which made Baji feel a little satisfied, but Baji and Ravi often broke out into fights and arguments occasionally, which Dutta was becoming sick of.
Hmmm.... Baji after today I want you to keep an eye on Ravi and what he does, and find out all the information you can about him and bring it to me, and make sure he isn't aware of anything.
What will we do about the bastiwale Bhau... asked Baji, ...put a discreet watch on that basti with a few of our people and tell them to stay there undercover as the bastiwale... so we find out exactly what is going on over there, we can't kick that family out just because their daughter is under threat, they must want to protect their daughter the same as the others, so we can't simply leave them unprotected, we need to find the root of this problem, Dutta explained to Baji.
As Baji left he told Dutta that he remembered some important job to do, and will be back shortly. Dutta knew he was on his way to apologise to Roops, that's how it had always been since they were young, he would upset Roops, she would cry, and than he would pacify her, they never got tired of this game, thought Dutta as he nodded his head as these two lovers who didn't even know they were in love with each other, or so he thought.
Dekh Roops I didn't want to upset you, but you have to understand that this idea of your song is not a good choice...dekh kitne gaane hai... he said trying to randomly pick a song from the back of his mind and than saw Naku watching him like he was some kind of joke, and decided to ask her to suggest a Salman Khan song..... kyun Naku tu bata, tujhe to bohut gaane aate honge na... he teased sarcastically, ...woh bhi Salman ke..
nahin mere ko nahin aate... she said quickly in defense, it was your idea so you think of a song she threw back at him.
Haan... he said woh maine pyar kiya wala gaana hai... he said thinking of the first song that came in his head at the mention of Salman as he got up to perform to the song insteadwithout realising, ...dilwale mehnat se darte nahin hai, darte hai woh...jo pyar karte nahin hai... singing the words in a deeper voice than he had, and at the same time tried to copy Salman's style of dancing in that song trying to make Roops smile, ......maine, ho maine pyar kiya, pyar kiya, pyar kiya hai.... he danced with exagerated moves but 'Prem's' style which seemed to suit him, and he motioned his hands towards Naku to join in with him in an attempt to make Roops laugh, and to his surprise Naku accepted and even began singing in perfect rhythm with Baji and before she knew it she was dancing lightly like Bhagya Shri ......main teri dil tera...yeh jaan teri.... teri mohabbat hai pehchaan meri.... as they both carried on singing Roops didn't realise when she had started enjoying the show before her, and now both Naku and Baji were singing the maine payr kiya hai chorus together with Baji on the floor and Naku dancing around him in a very spoof type manner, and than when they finally came to a stop they all began laughing toghether at what they'd just done.
Naku couldn't believe she just did that, it weren't really dancing but some form of it, and it had felt good to let herself loose after such a long time, and even Baji weren't so bad she thought, as Naku and Roops hugged each other after their performance.
Baji couldn't let Naku's voice go unnoticed and asked her that how she had managed to keep such a beautiful voice hidden for such a long time ...tu tho Lata Mageshkar ki tara gaati hai re Naku.. he said, but Roops had covered for Naku and told Baji that Naku loved bathroom singing and was shy about her talent that's all, and told him to quickly leave as she has to rehearse.
Well next chapter Baji will express his love, after seeing Roops performance😉, things will speed up after this, the story will go back on track with the wedding and the villains, all coming together lol😆, I do hope you uys do lyk dis one to lool😕
