D-Day!!!

5th April, 2011

What a year it has been.....eventful in every sense of the word.....our lives have just not remained the same, any longer! 😍

RBO/ShaNak/The Khandelwals have become such an integral part of our lives.......our day seems incomplete without having 'exchanged pleasantries' 😆 with them! Such is the depth of the bond we have come to share......

Sunil, Madhavi, Akshay, Khusboo, Natasha, Dadi, Dharam, Harilal, and the Gaurav Gera cameos at one end of the spectrum.......with.......Suraj, Ada, Bai, Mangal, Hetal, Sarpanch, Choksi, Mulji, and Champak at the other end....👏

The RBO family......

The most valuable members of the RBO family.......Shantanu and Khanak Khandelwal aka ShaNak!! 👏

As this one-year milestone has been attained, would like to take this opputunity to express our love, adulation, and gratitude to all the actors who have portrayed the afore-mentioned characters to near-perfection......for which they have us IF-Odhanians booked for life!

A round of applause, well-deserved for Yash Patnaik and Swapna Waghmare Joshi for recognising these talents and bringing them to the fore........for utilizing RBO as the vehicle to showcase their talent!! A special mention also for the behind the scenes geniuses.....the Goradiyas (dialogue), Shankar Ehsaan Loy (Title Track), Prakash Gaikwad (BG score).........and just about everybody else who has worked tirelessly to make RBO the product that it is!! 👏👏👏

Now that the Thanksgiving is done and over with, would like to revert to our awesome twosome.....hamare do anmol ratan.....ShaNak/KT-Yashu!! 😳

Without a shadow of doubt, these two constitute RBO's lifeline!! The unadulterated joy and bliss that ShaNak have brought into our lives can simply not be summed up in a post.....it is an experience that we live everyday.....an experience that we shall all cherish for our lifetimes!!

RBO has had its definite share of ups and downs, but if there have been two actors who have been at it consistently......who have delivered effortlessly over the past one year, even during times, when the going was tough.......it is Karan Tacker and Yashashri Masurkar!! ⭐️👏⭐️👏

KT and Yashu......Take a bow!! 👏

You have never dissapointed us.....you've given RBO your blood, sweat, and tears!!

So, as we gather here to celebrate RBO's first birthday, thought of commemorating the same and applauding KT-Yashu's contribution in typical ShaNak ishtyle.....hatke!! 😆

The magic of Rang Badalti Odhani for me is when ShaNak meet YashaRan halfway......

Am firmly of the opinion that Shaan and Khanak are not just two uniquely scripted 'once-in-a-lifetime' characters......but equally true is the fact that KT and Yashu breathe life into them, respectively.

So, just as on the one hand, the characters of Shaan and Khanak have given KT and Yashu the platform to showcase their histrionics.......equally true is the fact, that had it not been for KT and Yashu, the ShaNak magic would have never been a reality!!

Hence, have thought of a random questionnaire which is a feeble attempt at portraying the essence of this deadly ShaNak/YashaRan/ RBO concoction!! 😃

So here goes.....

1. When did RBO come to mean to you as much as it does today?

9. Shaan and Khanak are a bundle of contradictions! Despite the obvious differences, there are several traits that they share in common. Name any two such traits (one similar and the other different) that make them the eternal "sugar and spice" combination.

when shaan and khanak got into the picture, TOGeTHER :) in the sense, they became a part of each others lives...when they first met

or actually, when Khanak n shaan starting helping each other, understanding each other

I think their off screen, on screen chemistry and they are just like awesome when put together, with their TOTALLY OPPOSITE personality and each of their physique :) i think all that makes them unique compared to other shows :)

4. What is the one trait that Shaan has, that KT is probably inspired by? Likewise, what is the one trait that Khanak posseses that appeals to Yashu immensely?

I think KT would have learnt to accept someone very different from himself, like how Shaan accepts khanak, who is totally not like him, and i think the respect he seems to give women in real life is like kinda seen shaan and i think the lively, energetic trait of khanak might have inspired Yashashree.. :) another trait could be that both khanak and yashashree seem really shy, evident in interviews :) heehee

5. What are KT and Yashu's greatest strength as actors? What is the chief highlight of the ShaNak magic for you?

KT: his looks and acting...put together = awesome! :)

Yashu: awesome acting, like no joke.. and I think the way she portrays herself in interviews and stuff like that'shows her keenness in her career, so does KT.. but ya'also her looks are perfect for her role, so pretty J love her eyes'and body type :D
i think yashu has a personality to die for.. :) n kt a body any guy would die for ;)

Chief highlight: their chemistry..duh, but I think cos they seem to be in good terms with each other, so I guess that helps them a lot'keep up your good relation with each other J

6. As an ardent well-wisher, what in your opinion is:-

a) A facet of the ShaNak equaton that still remains to be explored?

b) Scope for improvement area for KT and Yashu as actors?

a) uhhh' their friendship?

All their romantic/ funny scenes, I still keep viewing some oldd episodes, never get bored..heehee, like I would want my marriage life to be like their, all lovey dovey! Heehee'

Happiness? But never ending hahahaha.. I dunno, I think I want some surprises' don't wanna expect anything' J

My journey began with the ShaNak shower scene in the Pune hotel room. Can any show beat "that"? Its the best advertising they didnt even pay for, in my case Doc D!

They look and act like a normal real life couple. The fact that he is so incredibly handsome helps the cause a :"lot". She looks lovely as well

Flirting without a doubt! Hands tucked in the pockets, hands folded across the chest.

Ans: a) Will go with Shaan first....in the sequence, where he pins Khanak against the wall for the first time demanding his 'rights' as a husband....Khanak obliges.....a shell-shocked Shaan throws her out of the room.....the remorse that he feels thereafter.....her helplessness tugging at his heart-strings.....this was a man who had made inroads, despite his obvious shortcomings!! 👏

b) As regards Khanak.....during the conversation ShaNak have just before the KKH sequence......Shaan keeps going on about how everybody including Natasha misunderstands him for no fault of his.....Khanak retorts "Aur Suraj....woh kiski galti thi??"😲.......here was a woman with spunk......with character.....just the kinda woman Shaan needed!!👏

2. When did the ShaNak journey begin for you?

Ans: Their first meeting.....the 'mithai kumar' one! 😆 The sparks few fast and furious even then.....fate knew they were purrrrrrfect for each other, back then itself!

3. What is the one attribute of ShaNak that distinguishes them from the clutter of other 'me-too' television couples?

Ans: The freshness and innocence of ShaNak......priceless......everything that they do comes absolutely straight from the heart..........be it the ShaNak world-famous banter 😆, or their romantic rendezvous together😍.......effortless!

4. What is the one trait that Shaan has, that KT is probably inspired by? Likewise, what is the one trait that Khanak posseses that appeals to Yashu immensely?

Ans: Shaan's 'heart of gold'.........truly heart warming in today's times; must definitely appeal to KT 'cos he comes across as a genuinely affable person too! Khanak's 'never say die' attitude......very appealing......could be relevant to Yashu as she has managed to silence even her harshest critics!

5. a) What are KT and Yashu's greatest strength as actors? b) What is the chief highlight of the ShaNak magic for you?

Ans: a) What strikes me most about KT is his understanding of the craft and superlative ability to improvise, and take the scene to a completely different level, altogether!!! ⭐️

Something like you are asked to review the abstract of an article, but you go all out and do that something extra, like review the full text of the article......and even provide the reviewer's notes!! Thats KT, the actor for me!! 👏

Yashu's greatest strength as an actor is her consistency. Be it her natural spontaneous acting style....her ability to consistently bring out the best in every actor.....to help her co-actor grow as much as she has....a rare trait indeed!!

And when its her forte.....feiry or comic.....she is an actor par excellence!! ⭐️

To take the reviewer's analogy further, Yashu will diligently review the abstract of the article and excel, help her comrades too, but, when she is asked to review an article to her liking, she ends up with a "Hall of Fame"!! 👏

b) KT and Yashu both have superlative range. 👏 From comedy to romance to intense......the essence of the ShaNak magic, really! And add to that, KTs dashing good looks and Yashu's glorious smile and eyes......ShaNak....a made for each other couple in every sense of the word! 😳😃

6. As an ardent well-wisher, what in your opinion is:-

a) A facet of the ShaNak equaton that still remains to be explored?

Ans: Would really like to see ShaNak explore the emotional quotient of their relationship further.....

b) Scope for improvement area(s) for KT and Yashu as actors?

Ans: They could both work at broadening their horizons......

7. Which is the one ShaNak moment in RBO that will stay with you forever?

Ans: The hospital reunion ShaNak scene.......for a couple whose verbal sparring means so much to them 😆 , they conveyed it all through their silences........taking the moment to a different level altogether! 👏

8. Where do you wish to see the ShaNak journey heading?

Ans: To the next level, but naturally.....and I dont just mean babies here! More importantly would love to see Shaan ready to shoulder the responsibilty of fatherhood first (read: financial independence) and Khanak getting herself at least a basic education (read: literary independence)!

Ans: On the one hand, Shaan's budhthalness 😆 is complemented by Khanak's spunk, while on the other hand Shaan's mischievousness is complented by Khanak's coyness!! Truly a meeting of equals.....👏

Ans: RBO, for me has been an exhilarating experience, the obvious downs not withstanding! It has changed my entire TV-viewing experience......from a nearly non existent TV life 😆 to an avid TV viewer.....all thanks to RBO and the ShaNak magic!! 👏

Keep up the good work guys! Wish you all the very best......keep working the way you have.....we'll always be there to support you......

I think KT might be inspired with Shaan's down to earth nature and accepting the other people as they are.

YM might be inspired by Khanak's strength and being herself.

Both are very natural and spontaneous. They understand each other so well as actors.👏

Their versatality, comic timing.👏

They always try to improvise themselves everytime.👏

KT can emote very well with eyes. His voice modulation is an asset for him.👏

YM is a natural actress. Very much consistent. Carries emotional scenes very well. 👏

When they are together on the screen - That itself is the magic.
They made SHANAK story so believable for me.

Their relation. More emotional attachment between them. I want them to explore different aspects of married life like a normal,young couple.

I don't like when KT imitates Salman Khan or SRK.

YM - Voice modulation and dialogue delivery.

There are so many. But I love love KKH scene. Everything is beautiful and spotless in that scene. It is like a magic. Like a fresh breeze in a hot summer night.

The jadi booti scene, Pathasala scenes, hospital reunion scene - hard to pick.

8. Where do you wish to see the ShaNak journey heading?

Want more love between them, want them to know each other inside and out, explore their relation .

Shaan and Khanak both are very good at heart. They love each other so much. They can do anything for their families etc are the similarities.

Differences : He is impulsive, she is not. He doesn't think before doing anything . She is balanced and he is not. He is a typical city born guy and she is a simple village girl.

Both are quiet opposite in nature. Actually that is the strong point in their relation. Even though they are completely opposite they don't try to influence each other. They complement each other perfectly. This is the beauty of their relation.

Yes, they are like sugar and spice. Both Shaan and Khanak are sweet and at times become spicy also.

Changed my opinion about TV serials. Never before attached emotionally to a tv serial like RBO. Thanks to SHANAK magic and the creators of RBO.

I would like to see responsible Shaan and more maturity in their relation.
Would like to see nice and interesting tracks with good dialogues and good editing.

I wish the team of RBO all the good luck in the world and hope the journey of SHANAK continues forever.

No idea when and how RBO came to mean alot, ShaNak came to mean alot.I just know that one day it was there. Kind of like fate😃

The very first scene.When Shaan tries to see Khanak's face, when she puts her hands in hers to transfer the mithai.I knew then that they had a delicious journey ahead. This was reinforced in the scene where he pushes her against the cupboard. Their interaction, his intensity, I just knew this couple was destined for each!

3. What is the one attribute of ShaNak that distinguishes them from the clutter of other 'me-too' television couples?

The fact that they are so real.This couple is flawed and proudly so!But their love redeems everything about them.Also the way KT-YM have portrayed ShaNak it is just SO realistic that you feel that it is indeed a real story unfolding in front of your eyes.

4. What is the one trait that Shaan has, that KT is probably inspired by? Likewise, what is the one trait that Khanak posseses that appeals to Yashu immensely?

Hmmm.Shall presume away for this!

I guess KT might be inspired by the inherent goodness of Shaan and the fact that his love transcends all worldly boundaries and prejudices we set up

YM ,ight be inspired by the sheer courage and strength of Khanak and again her inherent goodness of character.

a)Love their versatility!

Love KT in his intense scenes most.He has the ability to bring to focus the pain that his character is feeling.

Love YM's natural emoting.She even does scenes that have great OTT potential very naturally.She uses her eyes to great advantage.

As a plus both have great comic timing and do romance well.KT with his flirting and passionate romance, YM with her innocence of the gaaon ki gori interspersed with cuteness.

b) What is the chief highlight of the ShaNak magic for you?

B) for me the highlight of ShaNak magic is the fact that the relationship is so very believable! Whether its romance, nok-jhok, drama, they just draw you in!

6. As an ardent well-wisher, what in your opinion is:-

a) A facet of the ShaNak equaton that still remains to be explored?

Their emotional bonding.They need to talk more! Felt lack of this most during the aborted divorce track, the MMS track etc.

b) Scope for improvement area(s) for KT and Yashu as actors?

KT needs to be more consistent in his acting

YM needs to be clearer with dialogue delivery.

7. Which is the one ShaNak moment in RBO that will stay with you forever?

Whaaattt??Is this a trick question??How can I have ONE ShaNak moment??=(

Okay a few that absolutely top it:

KKH sequence-the whole thing from their conversation to the song sequence.It was a magical night for ShaNak but it was more magical for me!

The jadi booti scene-LOVE the shift from playful to intense.My heart sighed when he put that odhani on her head.They both looked cute and unsure and just tuned into one another.

Hospital reunion scene.Their care and love for each other and the depth of how much they missed each other was just so evident!

Okay I shall stop.Not fair though!

8. Where do you wish to see the ShaNak journey heading?

Deeper and deeper in love!😃

They are in love but I want them to understand each other, know each other inside out, become the only thing in each other's world.In short I want them to have the most romantic story in the world!

Actually have always felt that beneath the obvious surface differences ShaNak are more alike than different.

Their goodness of character, their love for their families, their love for each other, their playful natures are just a few things that are similar.

Differences: She is more responsible than him.He lets his heart rule his actions more than she does.

RBO has changed my thinking towards Indian soaps.Never thought they could actually have one scratch one's head and use some of that gray matter! At most times anyway😆

I hope Shaan becomes more responsible, starts going to the office, understands Khanak more while still retaining his budthalness and all the other qualities that make him Shaan

Want Khanak to explore the city, have new experiences, STUDY! But still want her to retain the innocence and freshness of our KFD!

Also hope that amazing story and dialogue writing returns and the editing department finally decides to do its job!

In short want RBO to climb greater heights and be recognized for what it is-unique!

1. When did RBO come to mean to you as much as it does today?

From the very first promo actually. There was something about this girl demanding justice for her husband's death. very powerful promo it was. i was hooked right there and then.

2. When did the ShaNak journey begin for you?

Again from the promo. I was interested and curious to find out how these two people would end up coming together. after that, from the 'champak & chooriyaan' scene.

3. What is the one attribute of ShaNak that distinguishes them from the clutter of other 'me-too' television couples?

Just one very simple thing: good acting on YM's and KT's part. if the actors are successful in almost convincing the viewer that a 'tv' couple is or even looks real; that's no small feat.

4. What is the one trait that Shaan has, that KT is probably inspired by? Likewise, what is the one trait that Khanak posseses that appeals to Yashu immensely?

lol! i am not sure how to answer this as i don't really know yasharan of'course. KT is probably inspired by shaan's "i am the best" attitude 😆 and YM is inspired by Khanak's "hum tu bhai jaise hein waisay rahein gey" bindass attitude 😆 also YM seems very humble like khanak.

5. a) What are KT and Yashu's greatest strength as actors? b) What is the chief highlight of the ShaNak magic for you?
a)They are both quite spontaneous.
KT's intense acting and very appropriate usage of his eyes.
YM's unbelievably realistic/natural and understated acting while potraying all emotions.

b) Highlight of shanak magic: for me, the actors who potray them (sorry for sounding like a broken record but it's true!)

6. As an ardent well-wisher, what in your opinion is:-
a) A facet of the ShaNak equaton that still remains to be explored?
b) Scope for improvement area(s) for KT and Yashu as actors?
a) their emotional bonding! they need to converse more and discuss the normal issues of marriage and life along with all the romance.

b) KT: his frequent SRK's impersonations, tendency to go OTT at times and inconsistency in acting.
YM: her diction and her tendency to rush through her dialogues sometimes.

7. Which is the one ShaNak moment in RBO that will stay with you forever?
All their moments in Dhulwadi (the first time) are very special to me, both before and after suraj's accident. i don't know, i feel a rare affection for those scenes.

8. Where do you wish to see the ShaNak journey heading?
I wish to see it heading in a more practical direction. I want to see shaan rejoin the business and khanak join some academic or vocational institution.

1) the difference in their physiques! 😆 i am serious!
2) that they are in fact like sugar and spice! and both are sweet and spicy in parts. like how they take turns in parenting each other and cater to the other's childlish demands. while one is being mature, the other gets away with being the child. for example, shaan's fake pregnancy and khanak's bhaangafied state.

Their chemistry and the fact Shantanu does not blindly follow his mother's wishes. Khanak is not one to cry about her losses, she fights back for what is rightly hers.

4. What is the one trait that Shaan has, that KT is probably inspired by? Likewise, what is the one trait that Khanak posseses that appeals to Yashu immensely?

Shantanu's confidence must inspire KT.

Khanak's simplicity and cleverness inspire Yashashri to be herself.

5. a) What are KT and Yashu's greatest strength as actors? b) What is the chief highlight of the ShaNak magic for you?

a) Both are good at conveying their characters on screen.

b) their spontaniety how they do not do what other on screen couples have done in the past, they improvise whether it be trolley ride or switching roles.

6. As an ardent well-wisher, what in your opinion is:-

a) A facet of the ShaNak equaton that still remains to be explored?

How they face a major issue to the full extent and parenthood.

b) Scope for improvement area(s) for KT and Yashu as actors?

They can both experiment with different roles. KT can be an undercover cop or lawyer, Yashashri as an activist or doctor

7. Which is the one ShaNak moment in RBO that will stay with you forever?

When he went to get her after Natasha let him go. The way he blocked the rikshaw then picked her up was well executed.

8. Where do you wish to see the ShaNak journey heading?

They need to face some harsh realities, grow as individuals and a couple. Then some time later as parents. I would also like Shantanu supporting Khanak in her own dreams and getting educated.

Both want their way and the other to follow their point of view.

Shantanu is stubborn while Khanak is clever at getting her wishes to come true. When he is high strung she is grounded.

I want the show to keep doing well and giving us marvelous tracks , scenes and dialogues as always.

kt & shaan = mischevious and yashu & khanak= bubbly

i really dont find any..i think they r perfect 4 the character shanak.

4 me evry shanak moment...and if i hv 2 choose 1 before SR that kiss scene, their convo was very emotional.

what i wish that no sadneess in shanak life...anything else would be worth watching...

both are charming
khanak is more serious 2wards the life where shaan is less

10. Encapsulate the journey of the past one year, that you have had as a viewer, with RBO and ShaNak . Also put forth the hopes and aspirations that you have for the next one year and many more such milestones to be achieved.........in other words, share the vision that you have for RBO.......
i started watching this show 4 its unique concept and still it maintains and hope that this uniqueness will continue...and wish luck 4 the RBO team that it could achieve many many more achievment.
