Am i the only one who feels its unfair that Saurya-Varsha dont get to name their first baby?

Yup me 2 feel d same its so sad tht varsha-shaurya didnt kept d name of baby...
It is d customs tht bua keeps d name but atleast they shuld ask them whether they like it or nt...

it's an old custom in India - one i don't support or agree with! it's completely unfair and it should be the parents that get to decide the name.

in my case, we asked all close relatives in general to suggest names for the baby a few months before the delivery and then my husband and i considered all names and finally selected the name we would give to our baby. the name turned out to be one that we got from the Internet. we socialized the name to my parents and in-laws and asked everyone if they liked it. thankfully, everybody like the name we had selected so it worked out fine.

a few older ladies (distant relatives) commented that - "arrey, only the bua has the right to select the baby's name" but we ignored such comments and thankfully, my nanad is not conservative. she herself had selected names for her own kids and hadn't asked their bua so she was happy with the choice we made for our kid..

Parents started thinking d name when they get 2 know tht they r gonna becum parents soon...
Parents just started dreaming of their baby's name...
Lekin agar unke beech koi bua aagai toh phir bas ...
phir hogaya mood off...
