He has already attained an iconic status
VIJAYAWADA: The city, surprisingly, has not been able to keep itself away from the mass frenzy sparked by Indian Idol, a programme that is precisely a talent hunt for good singers, launched by a Hindi channel.
N.C. Karunya of Hyderabad, popular as the look-alike of Abhishekh Bachchan, is a hot favourite and has already attained an iconic status among teens. "Karunya rocks.
He is the indisputable king of Indian Idol-II. He can sing any type of song, quite effortlessly. I'll do anything to promote him to the No. 1 position," says J. Mounika, a crazy fan of the singing sensation.
Big fan following
Karunya's love and passion for music spreads all around him, engulfing his huge list of fans across the world.
From being virtually unnoticed during his initial days of Indian Idol, he is today, bigger than ever on the music scene.
"He came, took his time and made it to the top, taking the world of music by storm," gushes L. Arpita, yet another fan.
Mohammed, a singer himself with a band called Mayur Orchestra, is impressed by the profundity of his voice.
"His classical background, the maturity in his voice and the way he presents himself before the public is remarkable," he says. Affable Karunya enjoys just playing himself and it is, perhaps, this quality that has left Indian Idol-watchers go gaga over this crooner.
Support network
Given the current situation, it is easy to grasp that having a support network can help him achieve his dream of crossing the final hurdle and greet the world from up there, right on the top.
And, lending a helping hand in his endeavour is a world of his admirers who set aside everything to stay glued to the channel airing the programme.
"There can be no two opinions about it.
Karunya is the finest of all. He is simply a great singer," says an excited Komal.
