TERE MERE SAPNE

There has not been much information about this serial, though in my opinion, it is because the Channel itself has put it at such an odd slot, that no one has watched it.

On the other hand, I first saw this serial, when the family was living in the village. It was the portrayal of a family, Sambu the father, his wife Ramdei, and her two sons Kesu and Sarju, and their daughter. Kesu was married to Laachi, but did not have children, and that irked the mother. Sarju was married to Radha, and was a playful chap, with his friends around him. There was one friend, I think is name was Kalwa, who went to Mumbai.

At that time the local money lender was after Sambu, and some fight was taking place and his one leg was broken. To get money for treatment, Radha was making attempts and the money lender was trying to take advantage of her.
Her husband, Sarju went in search of his friend, Kalwa, and on the way he hitch hiked and was ill treated, and yet in town he found Kalwa in the jail.

Kalwa was working for Kamya a business woman, as an errand boy. She implicated him in a drug smuggling case, and he landed in jail. When Sarju came seeking for help, Kamya took a liking for Sarju as he was handsome, and made him sign a bond to work for her. He was unaware of the terms, and as a villager, trusted every body. Kamya's husband, Karan had died, and she lived with her mother in law a God fearing woman. Sarju wants to pray with her at puja time, but she does not like it. However, as time passes by, she notices his nature and welcomes him.

Kamya trains Sarju to be a model, and his fame spreads and becomes rich. He used to send money home, and Ramdei starts to show off her wealth to her neighbours. Radha leaves the village in search for Sarju, and the family comes to know it late.

In the town, Radha goes to hell, to find her husband, and many a time she has been taken advantage of by bad people. But some dabba walas help her to trace Sarju. Kamya's mother in law employs her as the servant, but she has to keep the secret about her relationship with Sarju, as Kamya is very possessive oft him.

Once Kamya tries to murder Radha, but she survives. The mother in law, traces her, and gives her an alibi, by training her to be a modern girl, Sonya. This drama goes on and on, and finally one day the truth comes out.

In the village, Ramdei, gets Kesu married to Kalki, a pretty village girl. they do not know she has a boy friend Kundan, whose baby she is carrying. Kalki keeps up the bluff, and plans to elope with Kundan. Every time, Laachi comes in the way. Ramdei, always abuses Laachi, and makes her life hell, and this drama goes on, when Sarju is in Mumbai.

When Kamya tries to entice Sarju to marry her, he does not agree. There are lots of twists in which Radha defends her marriage, but ultimately, Kamya implicates him in a sexual harassment and rape case and the brutal policeman takes bribes from her and puts him in jail. Radha is driven out and lives in the basti where she is saved by a man who was a lawyer, and Kamya had also trumped up a case against him, and he agrees to defend Sarju.

Kamya loses the case, and is made to pay one crore to Sarju as defamation charges. With this money he plans to visit home.

At home, Kalki delivers a boy, and Ramdei is proud and calls friends for the naming ceremony, but Kalki runs away and Laachi saves the day. They tell Kalki had to leave as her parents died. But the sister in law, the wife of the brother of Sambu, Hiramal, does not believe. She is a shrew. Ramdei does not want to accept Kalki's son, but Laachi insists that she will look after him, as the child had not done any fault to deserve death.

In this way Sarju and Radha enter the village in a car, and all are happy. Sarju wants to buy a land with his money, but they do not know how he will pay. The aunt, has a son, who is a vagabond, and wants to create trouble. In this game, they plan to sow seeds of distrust between Radha and Laachi. The daughter in law of Hiramal, puts a dead lizard in the boiling milk, when Radha was away to bring water for her, and Radha feeds the baby with it and he falls sick. Laachi cries foul when she discovers the lizard in the milk.

Hiramal's family is frightened. As the story unfolds, the writers want to show how the villagers think, but they sometimes show them as ignorant people. Radha had acted as Sonya and was instrumental in saving Sarju, and she showed her intelligence. But once she has come back to the village, the writer has made her to be a uneducated ignorant girl. This is a flaw in the story writing and as long as no one raises the subject the story will go on, the channel will make its money, the advertisers will advertise, and the viewers will mute their TV, and put it on again, when the story starts.
