To be famous is first and foremost about how you connect with your audience. SRK, Ajay, konkona, the most famous indian actor Rajni are all examples of successful actors who are "dark" yet successful. Katrina cannot act, yet she's famous not because of her skin color in my opinion but because she connects with the audience. She has something about her that is humble and true and she tries hard and people relate to that and they reward her by watching her movies. She's down to earth, whether or not it's cultivated, it comes off real and other actresses who can actually act lack those qualities. Audiences are not fools, they are human beings and they can see through lots of these actors. It's all about personalty and charisma. some people just have that "IT" while some don't.

Priyanka Chopra
"Priyanka Chopra feels looks rule the film industry. In an interview to Harper's Bazaar for its second anniversary issue, Priyanka discusses how the industry is still dominated by the fair- skinned and lighteyed."

It says here that" she discusses how the industry is still dominated by the fiar-skinned and light eyed!" They didn't quote her...but it seems like she discusses it in the interview! I guess the only way we can find out is by reading the full interview of this magazine. If she actually talks about fair skinned girls are more popular ect. By discussing it here we the members did nothing wrong...because the article does mention that she talks about it! We didn't make it up!

@beboholic..

I never said there was anything wrong with the discussion. I did read some arguments and they were worth reading. However, I don't get why people are talking about her whining, when there is no quote by her. Thats all I meant.. I have nothing against this discussion, since fair skin v. dark skin is very much a part of Bollywood.

Her answer is diplomatic but the fact that she is getting asked about it.. lately.. is weird.. this issue is coming up again and again in her interviews.. if she would have talked about it from the beginning of her career.. or when her career was at peak.. then i would have found her to be more credible... but now it does come across as attention seeking.. even though she is being as diplomatic as possible.

Okay I dont know what others have said...Dont have the patience to go through 17 pages of it..😆 But If Priyanka truly believes it and is against it then why does she slap on so much makeup to make herself look lighter. Why doesn't she stand up against it and show her real true skin color that god has given her. In every photo shoot or award function or any other event she slaps on so much foundation which makes her skin tone look so light. Now I understand in movies you cant control it becasue things look different in front of camera. But she can control how she looks in events and awards functions. This article would actually mean more if she actually did something about it.😊
