Hello KMHians

The last time when the Kismat track was played in the scene of Arjun and Arohi, I paid a little more attention to the words and I felt at that moment is Kismat track not the synonym of teri saason of KMH2 title track? I thought of posting the lyrics and then comment whether it really relates to Arjuhi track or I was sober when I had that in mind as ''rock world'' is back in life😉 Now I can even get the kismat track remixed in rock version in my bonker mind🤣
Before writing the lyrics thought of sharing the song I am listening as a chill pill to because even rock mein I can feel it for Arjun and Arohi 2🤣 That song suits the night where both of them for a moment get lost in each other😊

Let me have the Kismat post in the next post as the kismat song and the song I posted are so different😊

Song: Kismat se tum
Background theme of Arjun and Arohi ever since when their love track started
Video:(I posted the original one rather sweet Arjuhi version]

Lyrics:
--FEMALE--
(Kismat se tum humko mile ho
Kaise chhodenge, yeh haath hum na chhodenge) - 2
Phir se banti taqdeeron ko
Armaanon ki zanjeeron ko
Jaanam ab na todenge

--MALE--
Kismat se tum humko mile ho
Kaise chhodenge, yeh haath hum na chhodenge
Phir se banti taqdeeron ko
Armaanon ki zanjeeron ko
Jaanam ab na todenge
Kismat se tum humko mile ho
Kaise chhodenge, yeh haath hum na chhodenge
Kya kahoon kaise lagte hai dil pe zulfon ke saaye
Koi bhoola raahi jaise manzil paa jaaye
Ya koi dil toofaan ka maara
Dard ki laheron mein aawaara

--FEMALE--
Koi pyaara pyaar ke saaye paa jaaye

--MALE--
Kismat se tum humko mile ho
Kaise chhodenge, yeh haath hum na chhodenge
Tukde dil ke hum tum milke
Phir se jodenge, yeh sheesha phir se jodenge

--FEMALE--
Phir se banti taqdeeron ko
Armaanon ki zanjeeron ko
Jaanam ab na todenge
Yun sharmaati yun ghabraati aise simti simtaayi
O mere baalam yunhi nahin main jaate jaate laut aayi hoon
Preet meri pehchaani tune
Meri kadr to jaani tune

--MALE--
Ab dil jaaga hosh mein chaahat ab aayi

--FEMALE--
Kismat se tum humko mile ho
Kaise chhodenge, yeh haath hum na chhodenge

--MALE--
Tukde dil ke hum tum milke
Phir se jodenge, yeh sheesha phir se jodenge

--FEMALE--
Phir se banti taqdeeron ko
Armaanon ki zanjeeron ko--BOTH--
Kismat se tum humko mile ho
Kaise chhodenge, yeh haath hum na chhodenge

Jaanam ab na todenge

I prefer to have a new post as critical appreciation, letting the lyrics and video as a stand alone rather than havin my thoughts there itself.

Kismat song from the movie Pukar is another minblowing song of the late 1990s, with the beautiful team of A R Rehman as music composers and Anuradha Paudhwal as female playback singer and Sonu Nigam as male playback singer. Those were the days where Sonu Nigam always hit the chart and A R Rehman was anytime to listen. Incredibly that after 12 years, the magical beauty in this song remains as evergreen as any old movie classic.
Initially when this song was used with Arjun and Arohi in this script, I did not like it. I felt it was out of picture because that was not the real characters description of Arjun Singhania and Arohi Ahluwalia. I felt that this song is being played only because there is the word ''kismat'' in it and it should not be played that often. That was indeed my first reaction on the song. Yet that song in Arjun and Arohi created same warmth as the video scene of fantastic actors in the movie - Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit. The song was played bits by bits in scene where the team felt to be appropriate and actually when read the meaning of the songs and when I understood the way Arjun and Arohi story have been tracked, indeed this was a wonderful choice of the team to have it in Arjun and Arohi.

Talking about the song itself as a sweet treat on Arjun and Arohi, I will start talking with the way the song started. This song started with humming. Humming plays an important role in Kitani Mohabbat Hai, like one of my older post, I wrote about it, that the humming in the title track in KMH1 symbolises melting down and intensity in the love that is going to show. Here the humming that was really played im the first scene where Arjun and Arohi which was Arjun left Arohi on the road to go to the police station and both of them did not want to leave each other. That humming symbolise the ''blessing'' of ''fate'' that played an important ingredient in KMH2.That humming was actually a signal to the viewers what if later on these lovers have to separate? Is the warmth that this humming show now will be the same?
The song continues a little more on their first night they spent in a hut on their way to saharli and some more of the kismat song was played there, If i am not wrong, the start of the song itself and that moment was a song like the voice in the sky or the voice of ''wisdom'' to those who were ignorant, and Arohi was ignorant here. Arohi was shown to be madly in love to Arjun and Arjun was hesitant to accept this love as he knew this relationship started on a wrong ground.
I seldon ask myself that ''is there anything right or wrong in love?''
The hesitant love of Arjun proved costly because ''fate'' did not let him say the truth first and the girl guessed and understood the truth after being heard from other sources. Was that then here the ''imtihaan of love'' ya ''fate who was testing to whic extreme these persons will go on their realisation and the truth?''
The lyrics sang by the male playback singer perfectly described arjun, especially for me that part on the song that was indeed the first stanza of the song and actually described too the start of Arjun's strong feeling to Arohi:
Kismat se tum humko mile ho
Kaise chhodenge, yeh haath hum na chhodenge
Phir se banti taqdeeron ko
Armaanon ki zanjeeron ko
Jaanam ab na todenge
Kismat se tum humko mile ho
Kaise chhodenge, yeh haath hum na chhodenge
Kya kahoon kaise lagte hai dil pe zulfon ke saaye
Koi bhoola raahi jaise manzil paa jaaye
Ya koi dil toofaan ka maara
Dard ki laheron mein aawaara
Those I highlighted as bold for me reflect the passionate lover in Arjun's character who also love came as a light from his empty life.

After the ''hours of truth'' we witness a very painful and intense situation that were painful and embarassed as well between the lovers. A twist happened. The hesitant love of Arjun reflected in Arohi. Arjun was shown like the guy who can go to any extreme in this love while now ''kismat'' started laying circumstances to the path of Arohi that ''once you were the one who accepted this feeling to be love now started being hesitant''

Should we stick with the thought that ''in the journey of love, even if both of them swapped their lives or acceptance, a stable relationship that can taste all new steps in life need both of them being able to be at ease towards each other and also to accept their love to each other without that hesitation.
The guilt of Arohi had a decadence of same power that Arjun had in the jungle track when he was betraying her now reflected to Arohi who was ready to forgo all this beautiful feeling by accepting life that was being promised by her family and on that ''sacrifice'' was the punishment of Arjun of ''hurting her'' but that ''hurt to Arjun''also had the pain of ''Arohi'' in it. Just like this bit of this song, sang by the female palyaback singer:
Phir se banti taqdeeron ko
Armaanon ki zanjeeron ko
Jaanam ab na todenge
Yun sharmaati yun ghabraati aise simti simtaayi
O mere baalam yunhi nahin main jaate jaate laut aayi hoon
Preet meri pehchaani tune
Meri kadr to jaani tune

Finally the element of ''hesitancy'' was part of ''fate string to the full realisation in this love story.''
Like I realised, replied myself to the above question, in love there is not judgement, there is nothing right or wrong. It might seem bitter at start only to realise that is it has to happen for the ''beats of sweetness'' to continue.
Arjun Singhania realised that part of the song: ''Ab dil jaaga hosh mein chaahat ab aayi'' and Arohi was asked by DJ to refuse this part of the song and made her felt torn ''Kismat se tum humko mile ho,Kaise chhodenge, yeh haath hum na chhodenge''
Yet the next part of the song following this was ''Tukde dil ke hum tum milke
Phir se jodenge, yeh sheesha phir se jodenge''
that was sung by Sonu Nigam and perfectly shown when Arjun fell to any extreme with a mishap made him married Arohi with another betrayal and with a complete different feelings both were feeling at that moment. Was that fate who wanted them to ''taste the path of darkness'' first for them to be able to ''enjoy the bright future to them'' by creating circumstances that showed in love one can either rise or fall but if the power of love was always true,in any decadence, it does not last long and it will definitely gets the light of path together. It was an appreciated journey though where love does not mean to be fully rosy but it keeps the warmth where both of them feelings are reciprocal. Fate showed pawns as catalysts to make the lovers understood they are actually in the bed of roses that was not being promised that before roses there will be thorns as part of the test to victory. Victory in love and success in relationship. Catalysts continued to pop at each stage needed and like any ''journey'' the catalysts will be there only at the particular moment to help to bring them to feel the fragrance of their own feelings.
The result of patience in test actually tastes sweet as now the lovers reached to an ease that were needed in their relationship where they can ''emote'' to each other positively or sarcastically even with a teaspoon full of love that make them understand ''cupid arrows never betray'' and as the part was shown that it was the girl who had to understand it first again, the track is being played again and that too the part of the end of the song. Lately this part is being used for Arohi and was really sung by the female playback singer:
Phir se banti taqdeeron ko
Armaanon ki zanjeeron ko
Jaanam ab na todenge
Arohi got it right now that she will not want to leave Arjun. Whatever it may come, she will not let this string to ''break.'' She understood that how much ways she tried as she was the one who wanted to end this relationship, understood this feeling is so beautiful to be ruined by her own hand.
At last in the song, what a beauty, the song end where both playback singers sang together the following bit:
''Kismat se tum humko mile ho
Kaise chhodenge, yeh haath hum na chhodenge''
The realisation and understanding track have already set the theme in February and personally expecting it to be the March track and on that realisation, their journey ends with feeling comfortable of their relationship who they know if they could go through of such a storm together with ''fate'' by their side, on their upcoming future post their realisation, they will always be together. A journey ends here with this realisation and . . . without adding more... I will prefer to see if I will be right on what I am thinking about KMH2.

And i am back.. lovely post nishu.. luved the rock! n thnx for posting the song n lyrics. lays the foundation nicely for the discussion itself!

Coming to your third post, unlike you I always felt the song was apt! Maybe it was that I hadn't warmed up to the song's original adaptation or that when I heard the song for the first time in KMH... the song n scene were so hand-in-glove, i wondered whether they had chosen the song first and then written the scene for it!

I have to mention the scene here to explain myself better:
Rewinding to the characters involved - we had a criminal Arjun who had inexplicably and unwillingly fallen in love with a chirpy and bubbly Arohi who hailed from a Police background. Against his nature and character, Arjun had kidnapped Arohi as part of his obligated support to his adopted father. Being a trained hard-core criminal, Arjun was confident of his plan and its success; but what he was completely unprepared was Arohi! Her completely impulsive actions and a unfortunately biased but principled approach to life took Arjun by surprise! For Arohi was a brash extrovert, a complete brat, overly-protected by her family, she didn't and wouldn't understand Arjun's POV, yet!

Coming to the scene where the song was initially used, I am going to approach it from boh directions in the form of Arjun and Arohi's train of thought building up to that moment!

Arohi, all the way to the police station was shown to be pondering over her mother's words. She had already formed her conclusion: in the past 7 days, destiny had shown her the path! Whatever else her future held, Arjun was definitely part of it. She realized her heart had amended it's definition of 'home'! After all, home is where her heart was! She hadn't yet decided what would be her next step and they had arrived at the police station!
When the moment to part presented itself, they found themselves in that urge to say everything but also found their mind void of all words. Would an eye-lock suffice for that much yearned exchange of thoughts? Or will it take a smile? In the rush to avoid saying anything that would give away their true feelings, she ended up asking "Tum kabhi mere baare mein sochoge?" Her need for him to understand her wordlessly, the hesitance to ask, the impulse to both stay with him and walk away is all fused into this question. He answers with a no and catalyzes her impulse to leave by asking "aur kitna bore karogi tum?"
After he drives away, she lets down her guard and ponders over what had just happened? The moment he screeched to a halt in front of her, and their eyes met, she knew this moment had been predestined. He had left to come back; exactly as destiny had it planned! It was as though they had decided ages ago to meet, and had forgotten about it and in that one gaze, it all came crashing back!
Phir se banti taqdeeron ko
Armaanon ke zanjeeron ko
Jaanam ab na todenge
Yun sharmaati yun ghabraati aise simti simtaayi
O mere baalam yunhi nahin main jaate jaate laut aayi hoon
Preet meri pehchaani tune
Meri kadr to jaani tune
But now that he was back, she suddenly felt wrong-footed. Her face was shining with tears that she didn't want to reveal and there was an all-knowing glint in his eyes that she didn't like! He walks up to her and lends his hand and she accepts it grudgingly for he caught her off-guard! She had hoped for him to understand, wished for him to come back, and now he was here, she was pleasantly surprised.
Ab dil jaaga, hosh me chahat ab aayi!
He confirms to her, indeed understanding has been diffused into his desires, their emotions! His coming back clearly emphasizes his decision to acknowledge her presence and importance in his life.

Arjun's mission was accomplished! Now that his plan had played out, he found himself in a breath of fresh air to think about all that had happened, before he went back into his "jurm ki duniya". In company of his two best friends, he pondered over his growing attachment to Arohi. He felt torn between being Arjun Singhania, the DON and Arjun, they guy who had simply fallen in love! Encouraged by his friends, who took on the role of his alter-ego here, he decided to give himself a chance to be Arjun! He goes back, to find Arohi sitting outside the police station - just as he had thought she would be, crying over him! His heart had predicted it and his mind now accepted it here was his confirmation - this was more than infatuation!
Arohi, was his light in the darkness; she who had come into his world of loneliness to show there was more to life! That there was more than living it out for others; that he had the option to assert himself! She showed him what it meant to love and be loved in return. She was herself full of life and had a rainbow of colors in her nature and quietly now she was changing or rather filling the color in his soul.
Kismat se tum humko mile ho
Kaise chhodenge, yeh haath hum na chhodenge
Kya kahoon kaise lagte hai dil pe zulfon ke saaye
Koi bhoola raahi jaise manzil paa jaaye
Ya koi dil toofaan ka maara
Dard ki laheron mein aawaara
And, now that he had seen light, going back to the dark didn't seem important enough. He found it easier to make allowances such as taking off for Sarhali with her to fulfill her dreams, thereby fulfilling his own desires to be with her. He extended his hand to her, and she willingly, though grudgingly, took it.
Pyar ka saahil paa jaaye!
The last line for him is sung by her. She is completing his thought and also giving him his answers. He was until that moment a lone boat in stormy waters and she was his anchor who had come to guide him ashore!
Nisha, you have already discussed other instances where the song was played. I wonder what you would say if I draw the above interpretations for a situation where this song was absent. I saw a semblance of the first paragraph's male version being reflected in the scenes leading up to the wedding and Arohi's part in her entrance to the Singhania household.

Going back to the scene where we saw Arjun getting drunk and having his conversation with God: He was once more alone. And it hurt more than ever because he had come so close to his deepest desires being fulfilled only to be ruthlessly taken away. It hadn't hurt as much to be alone before he met Arohi. But now when he knew what it was like to be loved back, it hurt to be alone again. It was not her betrayal (misunderstanding ofcourse) but her obstinate mistrust in him that deepened his pain.
Woh phir ek bhoola rahi ban ke unhi raaston par bhatak raha tha, jahan kabhi usse pyar ka manzil saaf nazar aata tha. Ab na woh saathi rahe the, woh manzil bhi dhundla padh gaya tha, aur woh raaste bhi soone the.
And then when she showed at his doorstep complete with band-baja, she had come to assume the role of his wife, his bitter-half for now and better-half in the long run. Whatever her motives, she had come! And with her came the words again: Pyar ka saahil paa jaye! and the supreme gloat that shined on Arjun's face in that scene said it all!!
Ek jung ka ailaan, Ek toofan ki aahat,
iske beechon-beech aa pahunchi,
Arjun ke pyaar ka saahil,
Arohi Arjun Singhania.
