Part - 75

The days were passing by, quick, and it passed the weeks to years. The color of the leaves changed from light green to its dark shade and then to yellowish to red and it spread out its wings with the force of the wind and then loosing the balance it fallen on to the ground. The kids enjoyed playing in that racked red and orange leaves hill and soon somewhere around the U.S. people were waiting for the snow flakes to shower from the heaven.

It was bright and sunny outside the galss covered 60 storied office building in S.F. and the gathered group was rejoicing with the success of their project. Finally they were able to fix all the major issues and the program got launched fine and running smoothly without any issues. The team manager arranged the big party for the group and he praised the project lead in front of everyone, which was very unusual. Yes he has to, because it was his day and night hard work, he was prompt with all the actions. He was awake and alert at any minute to monitor its progress, its problems, and solve the issue. Finally the CEO presented the amaze award to the team lead , Dev Bhatt for his hard work. Dev was smiling at his best, he was seeing the happiness of his colleagues, he rejoiced with them. Time passed by and the group dispersed. Dev walked through that narrow pathways connecting few many cubicles replying thanks to the congrats words of his friends and got back into his cubicle. He placed the cirtificate over the table and looked at the photo frame that was holding the smile of the most beautiful girl in his life, his Radhika.

Dev just knocked at the door and showed his face

"Hei, Mr. Dev, come on in"

Dev walked in and sat on the chair in front of Mr. John

John with a smile: so what's up? Ready for the good news

Dev with a smile of expectation looked at Mr. john's face.

Mr. John: great then, go ahead and have fun.

Dev: thank you Mr. John saying that he extended his hand out for a shake hand and Mr. john wished him all the best.

Dev came out from the cabin , he almost ran out to his cubicle, packing all the stuff back in his bag , he conveyed his leave sanction, his trip to India, to his colleagues and exchanged their "have fun", safe trip" comment.

On his way towards the car he called Balaji, who was on tour, to inform about his trip.

He hang up and drove quickly to the apartment. He called Mr. Thomas, the travel agent . He waited while packing his stuff into a small suitcase. He could hear his pounding heartbeat while throwing his shirts and Tees into that open bag. He waited for the bell to ring. He looked into the mirror, seeing the thick facial hair, he smiled self, 'look at you Dev' suddenly he took the trimmer and then shaver and did a clean shave and looked at the mirror and loved his new clean look. Few times he rubbed on his chin skin to feel the smoothness. Took a quick shower and then dressed up in white formal shirt and blue jeans, which is her favorite.

He combed his hair well. He checked on his passport and then checked his mail and found the ticket info, he called back again and talked to Mr. Thomas and then quickly took a print out and after verifying everything one more time he put that inside his backpack.

He called for a taxi. He was about to walk out grabbing his things , but then with a second thought, he paused. He came near the phone and dialed the Delhi number, but then suddenly got conscious of the time there , so hang up quickly and waited for the taxi. He saw the Taxi parking down and soon locking the door , he ran down towards it.

"hello" Suchi's voice reached his ears

Dev with a smile and from within his heart called out: "mom"

He could recognize Suchi's disbelief tone: dev!!!

Dev: Ha mom, I am coming, will be there by tomorrow evening

Suchi with her wet voice: sach beta?

Dev felt the heavines too: yes Mom

Suchi: but

Dev: no more mom, will after reaching there ok, and ha don't tell to Radhika, I want to give her surprise.

Suchi: but...,....'

Without giving time for her to respond , Dev : see you soon mom, love you, bye.

At the same time, Suchi was kept on trying his cell number again and again, nothing was clear to her, what did he say just now, is he coming? Really coming, my son is coming to Delhi. The tears are rolling down, but then why he said not to tell Radhika, and how can that be possible? She should be knowing, and I am sure Radhika will be the happiest to know about the india trip and he can't keep that as a secret from her , how can he? and Radhika is intelligent enough to understand it and then why he said like that? He can't leave her alone there and come. Suchi tried to reach the home phone number and then later found Rema's phone number , but nothing was going on. She was unable to move from near the phone rack, what if he calls back? Did I hear right? Did he say it? She folded her hands together and closed her eyes, the tears rolled down and she prayed,. Kanha , whatever it is, take care.
