It's been part of my life for 13 + years now. Every week, I've been meeting them. I've been observing their mannerisms, dialogues, stories, the little unspoken words, expressions. But having seen most of the episodes only once till 2009, most of it was blurred. Also i didn't discuss the episodes with anyone, so it was all soon forgotten.

But from the time the re-runs started on Sony sometime in 2009 end, I got to see them more closely. I saw the episodes repeatedly. I started watching the scenes again and again, some on TV, some on the internet and got into detailed analysis of each episode on IF.
For the last one year, I've noticed that in every situation in my life, I find something to relate to CID. If I have an argument with someone, I remember ACP scolding Abhijeet in Mysterious Gift. When I injured my leg, I remembered Daya in 'Motorcycle Thief'. It's not about making a fool of myself in front of others...it has taught me several useful things in life too. My power of observation has increased. I tend to notice and observe things around me. When I visit a mall or an ATM or any public place, I look around for the CCTV cameras.
Today I visited a mall, where everyone is frisked before entering. The lady who checked me just ran a metal detector over me and let me go. I asked her 'don't you want to check my purse'? She said 'it's ok ma'am'.. I almost scolded her for that, opened my purse, showed it to her and told her not to take her job lightly. The lady gave me a sheepish smile. My friend was with me and she asked me as to why can't I mind my own business. I told her that it is because of such negligence that blasts are happening everywhere. I later pondered over the incident and realised that it was the Chemical Bomb episode that inspired me to scold that lady.
I am sure many of you might have come across such incidents in real life. You might have behaved in a certain manner because of what you had seen on CID. This thread is for all of us to share what incident/scene/episode/dialogue in CID insipred you or any particular incident in CID which happened in your real life.

Hmmm.... yeah, even I seem to have been more particular with security purposes..... each and every thing makes me go suspiciuos.... my friend call me a CID oficer itself, since I remain really alert, a small thing happens, like something's lost, and I'm like "Yeh gaya toh gaya
kaha", putting my hands on my hips, and my friend will be like "Yeh lo, aa gaya CID ka bhoot ismein....."😆
When I was at the airport for security check while flying back to Dubai, one of the staff members almost had forgotten to check me.... I reminded her about it, and told her to be more careful and not to miss anyone like that.... she seemed really impressed and asked me why I bothered so being only a 13 year old girl..... I just told her that a slight carelessness can lead to major disasters.... she gave a smile, and I just walked away.... my parents seemed proud, and so did I..... and my dad was like, "Hmmm.... CID ke effects to ispe jamkar asar hua hai", with me giving a proud smile....
Many such incidents occur in our lives like these.... and these incidents have made me more alert, every CID episode reminds me of an incident that might have happened ever, like when eating pastreis, I remember Abhi sir's dialogue "Baad mein joging karke calories baraabar kar deta hoon", or when confused, I start scratching the edge of my mouth, or another incident, where I was locked up in the school washroom, and I broke the door and came out!!!!😆 My teachers were shocked, and one of my friend almost screamed out " Arre yeh toh apne Daya jaisi hi hai", with me getting 😳😳😳!!!!! Or, to lighten the situation when the atmosphere is serious, or to start taking unnecessary fingerprints of my own and checking them or to get extra information on biology.....So many incident, but I never realised......

Nice Thread Visrom👍🏼....well, i dont have any particular incident to share with all u guys.but i want to say soemthng,...It was Convocation Day...And checking lady was not giving attentions exactly as Visrom u said...she just ran a metal dectetor over me..i asked her to check my purse...but she denied to do so... at that time i feel so bad...Because of that kind of peoples blasts and different kinds of bad things happen....Because of CID, on that time i feel if anythng happen there then what can we do...CCV camers can help us......The finger prints etc etc....
I just want to say that, because of CID many peoples come to knw about CCV camers, fingerprints etc....Peoples who are not educated....Now they can caught the criminal...they can deal with other peoples....Now they knw about so many things just because of CID....CID gives us a power to deal with many situations....CID taughts us so many things...from which we was not aware before that.
ACP Sir, Abhijeet and Daya roles taughts us so many lessons...
well, one thing, many times when i deal with different kinds of peoples...Specially irritating peoples, i just want to give them Slap like Daya😆.....

Great topic! 😊 Indeed there are so many things in CID that have inspired us in real life. It was a major factor in me getting interested the crime/thriller genre not only in TV, but in movies, novels and games as well. I developed an interest in puzzle/riddle-based problems in general and also learnt significant details about crime awareness. Not only did I observe that many of the details shown in older episodes are noticeably realistic, but how being only a little more aware of the surroundings can potentially reduce the chances of a disaster by about 90% - and how many people don't bother about it.

Part of this is due to the stereotypes about these prevalent in the masses. For example some people are afraid of some criminal hiding under a bed or behind a sofa and ambushing them, but rarely do they think that it's difficult to launch a swift and successful attack from such a position. The criminal is more likely to stand in a shady alcove in the side of a lift or door, where people stepping out rarely look at. Similarly the chances of mugging or abduction are much higher in "fringe" areas, where immediate help is not available, like a poorly maintained parking lot or isolated staircase. We see cases like this happening in the old CID episodes with a fairly correct depiction, and it's certainly motivated me to be more aware of the surroundings and do a quick glance for any potential trouble. Criminal psychology is very interesting to study as well. I'm also wary of abandoned suitcases or vehicles in odd places, and like to take notice of how strong the security arrangements in any place I visit are.

And of course who can forget the dynamic characters in our show. The Case of The Accused Officer showed me the power of faith and trust. Whenever I find myself in a position to, to quote Albus Dumbledore, choose between what is easy and what is right, I remind myself of ACP sir shooting down his own wayward son. Blind Witness, Impossible Murder and a host of similar episodes taught me about the truth in "where there's a will, there's a way" - the power of perseverance and using your resources to their fullest extent, and standing by your strong opinion and intuition even if you're the only one doing it. Not to mention how Dr. Salunkhe and the old forensic discussions inspired me to take up medical science as a career. A lot of these sound like lofty ideals but even if I've managed to develop 25% of them, I owe a lot of credit to CID. It's become a close part of what I am. 😊

Great topic visrom....
I recently did something so strange... It was just like a reflex action... The i wondered why i did so....
Recently i was going with my family.... To the airport.... At morning 2 am to pick my sis who was coming from US... There was no one at home... N while we were locking the doors... I saw 2 ppl on a bike.... Who went from front of my house.... I actually saw the face of the person sitting on the bike... One had covered his face with a scarf.... When we left... I saw the same twp ppl stading at the bustop...As if they were waiting for some1... And i actually looked at the bike number and the face of the other person whose face wasnt covered.... When we crossed that lane... I realized what i did... It was so strange ... I was actually having a doubt on those two ppl... That they were not right kind of ppl.... So in case something... Happens.... I'll have some1 to doubt... And i actually byhearted that bike number

A good thread Visrom. CID has influenced me in my life in many small ways. I was always a great fan of who-done-it stories of all shapes sizes and in all the languages I know. Watching the many re-runs I recently had a startling discovery the shock and thrill of which took a month to get over. When I saw this thread I identified with this more than 1000% (if one can ever say this about %).
I took small but strong decisions when I faced my seniors in a work situation a year back. The entire team was against it. But i knew if I didn't stand up for truth I would never face myself in my life again. It was very tough and very lonely. I lost my job because of it. I was alone for days on end. Till then people who always said they admired me or were my friends stayed away and only two people kept their support. At this time I saw the rerun of The Case of The Killer Lake and I knew from where I had got that courage. Daya sir stood up to ACP sir and Abhi sir had given him support. I realised that I could recognise my true friends because of this one small aspect shown in this serial.
Did I say small? No it is things like these which give us unknown strength to stand up for the correct things with pride and respect in ourself.
Since that day, I have stood by my instincts. I can only say thank you Daya-Abhi sir .And a larger thank you to the entire team that is giving us CID.
The incidents are many like this in my life.
Another major one- I became a handwriting analyst three years back. Learning foreign language right now. Somewhere CID has made a mark and how can I deny this?! I love every minute of the new exciting things and people these hobbies are bringing me in touch with.
Three cheers for CID

Nice thread Visromdi! well, i don't have much incidents related to CID, as i only started watching it regularly from mid-2010, but i have a few.

it was a funny incident actually. it was december 2009, i was watching CID in my uncle's house, as i didn't have cable connection/ Tata Sky then. i just watched some scenes, & in 1 scene Daya was breaking a door( i didn't know his name, then!😛).

2 days later, i was in a coaching class. i went to bathroom. 1 of my friends, played a prank & locked me up! i urged him to let me get out, but NO!!!!!

suddenly i remembered the scene i saw 2 days ago, of a man breaking a door. gathering up courage, i took a sprint(the bathroom was quite large) & kicked right on the side hinges.

only 1 kick was enough! as the door was of plastic, it's hinges broke completely , & the door fell --------- right on my friend's shoulder. the 1st thing he asked me was, " tui kobe theke Daya hoye geli re?? (since when you have become Daya??)"

there are some other incidents, though small ones. for example, most of the times i can realize if someone is following me. i don't know whether it is an effect of watching CID. also i have become more courageous & calculative after watching CID.

also a very special dialogue has affected me a lot. " Duty pehle, sentiments badme."

i have applied it in many troublesome situations in my life, though sometimes i have not.

another last thing. The AC- series. i was deeply moved by seeing CID carrying on, solving others' problems even when they themselves were in trouble.
