This is going to sound harsh, but I need to say it. Today's episode was the worst episode I've ever seen of Laagi Tujhse Lagan. Yes, you heard me right. Before you all throw chappals at me, let me explain. I've been trying so hard to stay in Tasha mode and love every second of their interaction - they're in the jungle for the second time, they're together after two months of separation. We are all dying for Tasha romance and we're given Tasha romance. Sweet moments.
I'm not going to complain about the sweet Tasha moments, because I love them. The lake scene and the touching Naku's face scene are all beautiful moments of tenderness and longing - love.
But excuse me for saying this: What the hell is wrong with the CVs, the director, and whoever else is responsible for shooting the episode?
1) Not only were there editing glitches, there was a moment when Mahi Vij glanced away as if she was looking at something else (a camera or something) while performing. If this was a mistake - which it obviously was - then why wasn't it edited away?
2) What is happening to Tasha's conversation? Naku's dialogues about how women are stronger in enduring pain than men? What is this, Jyoti, or some Kekta show? It was like her dialogue was meant for the audience, like she was talking to us. I mean, come on. Tasha's conversations have always been meaningful and private, then why this sudden women-are-strong-blah-blah speech when she should've been talking to D about something more important? LTL has never focused on how women are stronger than men in whatever. Naku is one of a kind and she was made for D, to be his protector. That's all. Don't start this female-dominating crap. Please. This is why I've abandoned all other serials. D doesn't need to hear this. All he needs to hear is that Naku's going to be there with him.
3) Too much, way too much focus on Naku. Both camera and dialogue-wise. There were also an unecessary load of dialogues that seemed pointless when Tasha are all about few words, but full of meaning. They would talk, interact, but there wouldn't be all this "women are raised to view their husbands as..." and "I'm bowing down to you..." - this reeks of typical Indian serials where women are in focus as the all-sacrifcing, strong beings. LTL is not another typical serial. These dialogues were so out of character, so out of this show's character, that I almost puked. I'm in a rage here, seriously.
What is going on? What? Even for an episode that was meant to drag, I had expected more LTL from the writers (if they're still the same writers) and less stereotype serial, and I had expected the dialogues to be meaningful, in character, and that the focus would be on Dutta and Naku as partners. As a whole. And that the camera focus would be a bit more on Dutta since he's going through the process of accepting his sister's freaky real face. But no. None of this even came close to happening.
I have no clue what is happening to LTL or why the director and CVs and channel are being so careless and sneaking in these awkward changes. But I'm sure we'll be finding out soon enough. Or rather, you guys will be finding out, because I'm officially done with LTL. I can't stand anymore of this constant lack of focus on the male lead, the glitches and out-of-character dialogues, and regardless of how much I love Tasha and have waited for this very moment for a year - the disappointment of the execution has made me weep with frustration and it's just not worth it.
I've tried to pinpoint every positive thing about today's episode. Unfortunately the couple of sweet moments and even Mishal saving every one of his dialogues from sounding like a cheesy B-movie isn't enough to keep me going. I'd rather remember what LTL was, how much life the other director and CVs used to put into writing/directing every scene than watch each episode as it's treated with the amount of care that is given a bubblegum wrapper on the sidewalk. The fact that Mishal's character and performance is treated with even less care... well, that just does it for me. It's wonder that he's still around, what with the director/CVs or whoever not acknowledging his talent.
Sorry for spreading such negativity right now when I know a lot of you are on cloud nine due to the Tasha moments. But I simply can't ignore LTL as a whole for the sake of one or two moments. This needed to be said and so I said it.
Happy watching. Byes.

read the title and i agree!! (lol ur post was too long to read)
It's not progressing at all.. they are just repeating the same old scenes over and over again of Dutta being bad to Naku and their wedding day.. we have seen this all before!!.. out of the half an hour of the drama about 20mins is recap and 8 mins is repeated emotions again and again the remaing 2mins is something new (not including the 10 mins breaks inbetween- lol a bit of exaggeration)... If i leave this drama for a week i will return to find them in the same position.. lol getting really bored of it now..

To me, it's never been just about the love story. It's been about Dutta's character. It's been about the show as a whole, which includes the way it's been directed and edited.
People can say whatever they want, but it's an obvious fact that LTL has been lacking directing-wise and editing-wise for the past several weeks - and now we can add out-of-character/show dialogues to the mix.
If I watched it only for Tasha's love story, then I could've cared less about everything else. Unfortunately, for me, LTL in itself has been a magical and beautiful journey of each and every character - and the foundation of its beauty has been Dutta.
If the foundation is shaken and if typical changes are made to what is unique, then it kind of hurts. A lot.

Wow. You sure are cheesed off! First of all, sorry i haven't responded to that awesome analysis of my post. I will, soon. It's been a crazy week, and i've been watching LTL in bits and pieces. Plus, i've had no time to post my thoughts. But i just had to reply to this.

I watched today's episode. It wasn't perfect, but i think it was close to perfect! I mean, an epi with 20 mins of TaSha and 2 mins of Kala and co, you've got to be kidding me!

There were moments today when i went Whaaaat! and moments where i went Ah!

When Dutta said, a woman is meant to serve her husband acc to tradition, i went duh! But then he completed the dialogue and i heaved a sigh of relief. I agree, there has been less focus on Dutta, but it's not bcoz they're focusing on Naku more, there's just something wrong with the camera angles. Plus, this jungle isn't green enough. lol. I'm just waiting for Monday. i think it's gonna be a sweet night.

Sigh. There were moments that made me go awww. When he asks her to forgive him. When she washed/wiped his face. That scene was hawt. I am sure Dutta was having ahem thoughts there, the way he had his eyes closed.

But the scene that totally made my day was the one where he told her that he would love her so passionately that she'd forget every bad thing. He said it, that which we've been dying to hear. Elysia, you wrote about the scene where the flowers fall on Naku instead of Supriya. That, is one of my fav scenes, one of the earliest scenes that got me hooked to this show. When AS or someone explained that if the flowers fell on the bride, her husband would shower her with love, i knew that they'd fall on Naku. And i knew that Dutta'd love her like crazy.

LTL has never been about perfection. It has its phases, insipid one moment, spellbinding the next. But this story is worth every glitch. :) Because i don't know when i'll get another one like this.

Sigh. Did you see the smile on D's face in the end? He knows exactly what she's doing.

I am not sure if we have been watching the same episode..Yesterday was good and today was excellent as far as I am concerned.

Somehow I feel, we have built too high a expectation from the show and when that does not happen we feel disappointed..

Dutta is at his lowest right now...not just b'coz he has lost his eyesight but to loose a sister, whom he had held closest to his heart has broken him..He is trying to show himself strong, but his wife, knows where he is hurting most, so she is giving her strength and support to him. Something all good wives does. It is just not when ir husband asks for ur support that you give it's when you let him know that you are there for him in all circumstances of life, that actually describes a relationship.

I don't think it is fair to compare LTL with anyother show!! if they show too much of romance overdose, then it will be compared to GEET, if they show Naku strong it is compared to some other show. LTL is LTL. we cannot even compare this jungle scenes with the previous one...that time Dutta was discovering love, now Dutta's love is at it's zenith. circumstances have changed.

Two people in love are sharing their strength, weaknesses and thoughts. I felt the scenes were superb. No complaints here.

Liz, as much as I want to agree with you, I can't. I felt like they made a joke out of D's character today. They gave him such cheesy lines that he had to save them. They were so out of character. Not just him, Naku as well. From the line about her "sambhaling him" to "a woman can endure more than a man" to "I want to bring back a man who is filled with only love".
Look, honestly, I could pick out everything that was out of character and ridicilous and totally proof of carelessness from the director's and CVs side, but I'm tired.
I'm just so tired. And so done.
Dutta's journey was the sole reason I started watching this show. I know him, probably better than I know my sisters or my parents. And I know that today Dutta was only present for very brief moments throughout the episode, because the CVs gave him such cheesy out-of-character lines, it was painful.
I never watched this show for Tasha. I watched it for Dutta and his journey, and a very huge and important part of his journey is Naku (his love-story). Just because they feed us a few sweet moments between them in this episodes doesn't mean I'll ignore what they're doing to his character. LTL, to me, was perfect. Up until February.

I actually quite enjoyed the episode.
Coming to the point about Dialogues and they being cheezy, I didnt feel that way at all:
Naku - her character is known to give bhashans, her long lecture to Dutta on love, was a good example of that. She has always been that God fearing typical woman - but also one of strength. Her Aai Bolti Hai line that women are capable of more tolerance than man, is also so in character and frankly what is wrong with that statement? Its true - any woman who has gone through labor and delivery can attest to that fact, that men however strong they are, are incapable of bearing that pain, and hence the statement.

As for Dutta's dialogues, my interpretation is how much of Naku's influence he has in him now, that he has become a believer in these facts about marriage, how two souls can complete each other and become a better half.

Their expressions also conveyed a lot, and were also very much in character.

As for the editing and direction, I am not expert in that area, so I really cant comment.

Ultimately as a viewer, I look at the "Rasa" or the emotion the characters bring out in me, and I felt Love today, that is a successful team effort in my mind.

I'm not surprised that so many disagree with me, but I still stand by what I've said: The dialogues were out of character to me, cheesy, and in places they were completely unecessary statements in which the scenes would've been more beautiful if the actors had been allowed to convey their thoughts through facial expressions, just like Mishal is awesome at doing.
I still think that the conversations were jumping from purple-prose confessions to Kala and back to purple-prose confessions whereas DN could've played the scene out with D confessing, then moved on to the topic of Kala and spoken about that issue a bit more. In addition to that, I just do feel that a lot of the cheesy dialogues were unnecessary as DN are perfectly capable at conveying their emotions and thoughts through silence and actions.
Dialogues such as "you're thirsty?" and D saying "you can always tell" was unecessary as Dutta smiling at her question would've been enough for us to know what he's thinking. The statement about women enduring more than men - yeah, it's true, but to me it felt awkward that she said it right then and there. To me, that moment was about their relationship and interaction, not some general statement. Had she only said "I'll be your strength and stand with you", then I would've been a lot more convinced. But bringing up the men-women comparison was needless to me. I wanted the focus on their relationship as partners, but D still being the leader. That was lacking for me.
Naku does see D's pain and soothes him however she can. But she also knows his strength. He isn't weak. He can be vulnerable and mentally exhausted, which he is right now. But he just isn't weak. The CVs made him weak in this episode, in my opinion. Naku telling him that she wanted to bring back a man who was only filled with love really gave the wrong impression. Doesn't she love the man he is? Did she ever care about the blood on his hands? No, she didn't. She washed it away with her tears, but she never saw the blood on his hands. To her, he's perfect.
I can tell that everyone are on a Tasha rush right now, which is understandable. But my focus has always been Dutta and Dutta's journey. That included Tasha. But because Dutta, to me, is the heart of this show, I'd like him remain a strong character, vulnerable, but strong. I'd like the camera to focus on him in a scene. I'd like his dialogues to reveal love, as they used to do before as well, but at the same time I need to see Dutta in those dialogues.
No matter how vulnerable or helpless he seems to be, he would never let Naku wander off alone for even a second. Not when he has been away from her for two months and now there're people after them in the jungle, for all he knows, and it's night. He wouldn't sit like a good boy and wait. I feel that the past episodes have been poorly executed, the dialogues have been poor, and now they're even out of character. Whatever reasons are behind it, I don't know.
But if these "changes" or whatever they are continue, if the camera continues to move away from Mishal during his scenes, if he continues to get cheesy lines, then for his sake I hope that he leaves the show. I'd rather see him leave than watch his character get assassinated just so we can get some Tasha moments.
As much as I love Tasha, I never watched this show for the couple alone. If Mishal leaves at this point, then at least he'll be leaving while the show's rating's on a high.
