Fardeen hurt himself in Pyare Mohan climax

Fardeen Khan in 'Pyare Mohan'

Producer Ashok Thakeria and director Inder Kumar's 'Pyare Mohan' had not only Boman Irani on the casualty list but also the protagonist Fardeen Khan as well. Khan had sustained injuries on his right hand when shooting for the climax of the film in Bangkok.

Boman Irani (who plays an eccentric Don) knocks out Pyare (Fardeen). When he regains consciousness, he starts calling out for his buddy Mohan (Vivek Oberoi). Since it is his legs that are hurt, Pyare can't even get up. He feels a wire mesh near him, and holding it, tries to get up. At one point in the wire, the metal was sticking out. Says Fardeen, "It went right inside my hand and started bleeding profusely."

Khan stopped shooting for few hours, and had lots of difficulty in getting sleep that night. "I had to undergo some stitches on the hand. However, I did not need any medical attention from my Mumbai doctor on that front, when I returned."

Thakeria admitted, "Well, Fardeen had hurt himself quite a bit. We were shooting at an old rice mill. We called the doctor and the nurse to the site."

"The leading ladies of the film, Esha Deol and Amrita Rao, were not present at the site, but they were very concerned. After they learnt that Fardeen had a cut in his hand, they kept calling him on his mobile. Viveik Oberoi was with Fardeen when the undesirable accident occurred," Thakeria adds.

It can be recalled that on November 9th, Fardeen Khan, Vivek Oberoi and Boman Irani were enacting a fight scene that had Khan and Oberoi dragging Irani and punching him in the face. When he was being dragged and turned around, Boman's shoe heel caught on the floor, and he ended up with a twisted and swollen knee.
