As ice descends onto the East Coast, "Gossip Girl" is all hotand bothered.
Blair is all giddy about her new internship at "W," the magical Bibbity Bobbity Boo that will turn her into a deep caring fashion Anna Wintour. Serena is putting on the gloss for her just-released not-really-a-convict boyfriend. And Chuck is still in bed with the enemy's daughter.
Sorry, but we're going to be hating on Dan and Blair all the live long day. They're not Dair. They're BlanD. They have gone to see four movies together. Whoohoo. It's a writer's sign of desperation because they are the only two who haven't slept together on this show. I say introduce some new characters - they're in school and living in a city with millions, it's not a huge stretch there.
Of course there's a big ball at the end of the show. This time it's the "W" party.
Dan is sucking up to Lilly for getting him an internship. He's the only one talking to her at this point. Whoops! Turns out he's at "W" as well, because he's so into fashion. Serena, in a bad ski sweater, is sad because her convict wants to leave for an organic farm. She walks out of the coffee shop and runs into Damien, the drug dealer guy who sold Juliet the drugs that almost killed Serena. Drug dealer feels bad. But not so bad that he won't sleep with Eric.
Nate's convict daddy is all boasty about his new job as the financial adviser to Thorpe Enterprises, the company that is screwing over Chuck Bass. Nate tells Chuck. Chuck kvetches to Thorpe's daughter about it and tells her to fire Nate's Daddy. Nate's Daddy is upset that Nate tried to have him fired.
BlanD are bickering at W. Whomever brings the best author to the "W" party wins and the other must resign. Blair admits that he makes good coffee and is a writer. Serena tells her not to sabotage Dan. Blair tells her to let Ben the convict go. Good luck on that.
Damien runs into convict Ben at the coffee shop and tries to sell him drugs. Ben says he knows Damien is the one who testified against him. Ben calls Serena, but she doesn't believe that Damien and Eric would be together.
Oh look, we're at the party. Eric is blowing his ex off for the drug dealer. Blair and Chuck sparkle at the door. They are so much better than BlanD. Dan screwed Blair by telling her author not to come, because he assumed she did the same to him. But she didn't. The two of them have a brawl on the floor. They're both fired. No more Cinderella story.
Ben gives Eric a little speech about staying true to yourself. Eric says he'll break up with the drug dealer. Rufus tells him not to do drugs. Eric is sad, sad and feels all alone because everyone is off in their own little world. Ben then ditches Serena to make his way in the world. And Dan makes a call to the "W" boss, saying he's sorry for screwing Blair and she shouldn't be fired. With a wave of the wand, she's back!
Rufus offers Ben an extra room at his place, in thanks for giving the daddy talk to Eric. Because that's not weird at all. Ben then threatens drug Damien and tells him to disappear and leave Serena and Eric alone. Damien ignores him and offers to be Eric's friend, which is all the little lost lamb wants right now. And Chuck still wants to be with Reyna, even though she's already sleeping with someone else and is determined to help steal his daddy's company.
Any predictions on whether Ben will kill Damien and end up back in jail? Is Ben the new bad guy?
