Prosthetics for Akshay in Ekta's film

After their superhit Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai last year, producer Ekta Kapoor and director Milan Luthria are ensuring that the sequel to the gangster film is as big a success as the original. It started with Akshay Kumar's spellbinding entry at Kapoor's award show, Global Indian Film and Television Honours last evening. Now, the filmmakers are roping in prosthetic specialists from Hollywood to give the actor a distinct look for their retro film. It is believed the filmmakers are also considering Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif to play a movie star opposite Kumar.
Kapoor reveals that Kumar will sport two looks for his role as Shoaib Khan, taking forward the character played by Emraan Hashmi in the first part. "Since the film starts in 1977, we want a younger look for Akshay," explains Kapoor, adding, "The second look will be for the portion set in the '80s, in which a major part of our story is set."
Although Kumar has already played a character from the 1970s in Action Replayy, his look in the OUATIM sequel will be decided based on the character and genre. "We want Akshay to look like a gangster but without the hardness, just like Al Pacino in The Godfather," explains Kapoor. Commenting on the several plastic surgeries that the most-wanted underworld don, whose character Akshay's role is based on, has undergone, Kapoor says, "In fact, there's also a dialogue in the film about the surgeries." Refusing to comment on the leading lady, Kapoor says, "We will begin casting once our script is complete."
Insisting that it's too early to talk about the prosthetics artiste they have signed, Luthria says, "We've spoken to an agency in Los Angeles and another from UK to create the prosthetics. But whichever agency we finalise will also do the prosthetics for Dirty Picture (the Vidya Balan starrer based on the life of Silk Smitha)."
