You've all read the news. You've all expressed your anger, frustration, and sense of betrayal to the channel for the changes that they have in store for LTL. Some of you have hope that the TB article is misleading and some of you have no hope at all. To be honest, I'm with the second group. The thing is that when the rumor about Mishal's leave came in January, I was very agitated and upset. Don't get me wrong. If Mishal wanted to leave, I could bear that. But if the show continued without him, then I couldn't bear that.
Having been a loyal viewer of LTL, I've followed Dutta's journey, his development, his love for the one woman who completed him in every way. LTL was never anything without him. But honestly, it was Mishal's performance that breathed life into the character, that gave it so many layers and made it as loved and popular as it is today.
The channel is "scripting a strong character" that can "match the popularity of Dutta Bhao"? What they don't understand is that they can script a character as strong as they want, but they can never replace Mishal's performance or the strength and layers and beauty that he put into Dutta Bhao. I've always loved LTL, purely because of Mishal's portrayal of Dutta Bhao. No one else. If he wants to leave, or if the channel are making him leave, then so be it. But at least have the decency, the respect toward the loyal fans, to end the show with his departure.
Is that too much to ask?
Personally, I feel cheated and betrayed. I feel like my feelings about the show, my supporting it, my love for the characters, has been treated like a joke. That I've been lulled into a sleep that showed me dreams of what was to come between Dutta and Naku and how their story would continue and Dutta would develope even more - and then just as I started to relax, the channel snatched all those dreams and laughed at my face.
That's how I feel.
I feel like my support and love and adoration for the show, the characters, has been treated like dirt. Like it means nothing. It's so easy for a successful channel like Colors to chop essential characters from their show, to remove actors that are adored and loved, to ruin a loved story-line. What can we do? Except complain and rip our hair out?
I'm so disappointed that I can't even put words on it.
I want to fight for ending the show with Mishal's leave. I can't watch it continue. No, I can't know that it's continuing with someone else in Naku's life (be it another Dutta). LTL was about how she was Dutta's protector, how nothing bad could happen to him if she was alive. She would have to die in order for him to die, in order for their love-story to end. How do they intend to continue Naku's story without the man who she was made for?
They forget that perhaps the story started with Naku, but it came to be about Dutta. I've only ever watched LTL for Dutta, his story, his character, Mishal Raheja's performance. Mahi is a brilliant actress, but she cannot give LTL what Mishal has given it. Naku's character cannot carry this show - no matter how much they strenghten her or make her don-like.
In addition to that, without Dutta/Mishal nothing will make sense. The whole concept of Naku being his protector, of them belonging together, of how every episode has focused on them and their meant to be from the very start...
No. It can't happen. It won't work.
There can be only one LTL. One Dutta. One man for Naku.
LTL doesn't deserve these changes. We sure as beep don't deserve it.
