I really liked this week's episodes. I think this is my second favourite week after the Madhuri special one. I think Malaika's challenges brought out a lot of creativity from all the jodis. Some very interesting performances we got to see this week.
My two personal favourite acts were Sushant-Shampa's and Chang-Marisha's. Sushant and Shampa toh I've been fond of since the beginning of the season, but Chang and Marisha surprised me with how involved I got with their performance. Usually that only happens with Sushant-Shampa for me.
But Chang-Marisha's act this time was too sweet, really. And so creative too! I think Marisha's really talented. I simply loved the little moments/bits she added to the choreography. SO creative! Like the little sliding thing her and Chang were doing in the beginning. And there was this one part where they used their bodies as drops of water or something on the box and it went with the lyrics of the song. So well thought out! There were so many moments like this in their act, they added so much more to the song with their dance! Loved the simplicity and sweetness to their performance. And it had depth too with the way they used the music/box prop/and the moments of the song. Really loved it! 👍🏼
I LOVED what Mallaika and Madhuri said about Sushant and Shampa's jodi. My sentiments exactly. No body brings depth and SOUL to their performances like these guys. They actually USE the music, the mood, the lyrics, plus their own concept to make their performances memorable! I'm really rooting for these guys to win. They really just take you to their own world through their performances. And I kind of think that's the whole point of dance or any form of art...at least for me. For this act, I loved how they used the arial challenge and integrated it into their performance, instead of simply using it as a side prop if that makes any sense. It felt like the dance was incomplete without the arial bit you know what I mean? Especially as the mood of the music went from really elated and happy and they used that swinging on the silk rope move. And then as the mood of the music got more romantic their arial bits got slower to fit the music. You know moments like these give their performances, that depth and soul that Madhuri and Mallaika were talking about.
Savio and Mahi's concept was nothing extraordinary in itself but I think Savio enhanced it with the way he choreographed the act. Things like using the props with the teddy bear, the crib, the photo frame and even the stairs..those touches enhanced an otherwise seen it before concept. And Mahi was really adorable with the way she was completely in tears afterwards. Awww! You could tell how into her performance she had gotten. I was def. really into the performance too! Mahi's such a sweet sa kid! :)
I think Ankita and Nishant's act could've been better actually. Like choreography wise. There is scope to be much more creative with the shadow concept as Remo also mentioned. And the song itself was so powerful, that the choreography needed to be in par with it. But I did like how the scenery was used in their performance. That was very visually appealing. And Ankita is SUCH a graceful and elegant performer! 😍
Ragini and Neerav's act was pleasantly surprising as well. So entertaining. Ragini's such a natural with her expressions and she just has SO much fun. She has actually improved so much, it's seriously amazing! Loved the MJ moves on such an old fun song! :)
I expected more from Salman and Yaana too. You could tell the two were having trouble at one point which kills the smoothness of the performance that these two usually are so good with. The overall choreography wasn't that imaginative also. Especially compared with the other awesome and creative acts we got to see this week. The mood/depth of the music wasn't really used either. These two can do much better.
Anyways, sorry for the huge analysis on each performance...just felt like discussing all the acts somewhere. There were already enough votes for Sushant-Shampa so I voted for Chang and Marisha instead. But I think they were both awesome this week. :)
Thanks for the post. :)
