To go back to what you have said in bold, why i said old fashioned is that in the olden days the MIL told the DIL everything to do in the house, men married to produce children and provide DIL for the family, love and time together with wife not so important. Hetal is more modern she encourages Jigar to give to Rashi gifts and money as she wants her DIL to be happy and their love for each other to flourish. Old fashioned Kokila thinks DIL are to do household chores, procreate and maintain prestige of the house.

I laughed so much when after making her cry earlier by the stairs he took her round the corner and shouts some more (like stop the theatrics and waterworks) I didn't shout at you so much😆 By this time, i was like Aham is Aham, that short temper of his. He utters mood changing words to her like what's your problem, why do you always bump into me and expects her to be composed, with Gopi it would be waterworks, with anyone else it would be anger at him (anyone else would get defensive).

Another example of what happened today was when they went to Elesh's house the first time, Chirag told Aham and Jigar that they should share a car with their wives. When Gopi came to the car, it was anger at her for asking where to sit, impatience with her for not putting on the seatbelt, then he did for her and then asked her a question, what is taking JIgar and Rashi so long. So the CV's do throw in some dialogue between them when his not angry at her (once in a blue moon).

For me too little to get excited about.
