I don't think nationality has an affect on success, but many of these foreigners probably disappeared because they didn't have any connections. It's sad but one of the most important factors in success are these connections.

Foreigners in Bollywood certainly have a big advantage. Tell me where in the world anyone can get acting roles without understanding the language/dictation? They sure get a lot more oppurtunities even the really bad actors because Indians love foreigners. It's up to them what they do with the oppurtunities. People seem to give them more attention and when they get the part even partially correct, they get huge acclaim.
