Yesterday watching jdj i was pleasantly surprised that Shampa the choreographer is Shampa gopi Krishna the little girl who played the 8 to 9 yrs old Krishna in B.R. chopra's Mahabhharat. She has been dancing since a little child and is a fantastic dancer and choreographer now. Anybody else seen that Mahabharat its the best one made and in it she dances on the serpent's head.

i'm having trouble uploading photos, but here is a video and she dances at the end of the episode on the serpent. She is my favourite child krishna actress.

sorry the video is in dubbed in another language, but im sure you can find another version on youtube or elsewhere. But the song at the end is all in hindi.

me too i love shampa since i was really young, i loved this mahabharat. Before this she was in a song in a film where she is a little younger, again Krishna and Yashoda is Hema Malini this was really good.

yes, her father gopi krishna is a very talented and famous choreographer from 60s-80s in hindi films. you can see his name in a lot of hit films from that era, credited under 'dances' (as choreographers were usually known as dance masters then). i believe he also made a film jhanak jhanak payal baaje, starring himself, which had wonderful classical dances.
