Part - 7
Mayank Sharma was very busy the next morning, after all, it was the 6th day of his Ma's 7 day conditions and he found himself most unprepared for this exam, than he had ever found himself before. He had been sitting in the library, HIS library, in the Sharma Mansion, that he was the proud owner of. A small room converted into an almost library about a year ago as per his requirement because he knew that he wanted to grow old with the books he owned and he loved spending his free time there reading. So he was busy scribbling something on a notepad, pausing a lot in between in order to ponder over his thoughts as he did so.

Shashi Bhushan had called up Sameer Sharma in the morning in a hurry. He wanted to know the reason behind Nupur's odd behaviour since he had last mentioned to her about the Marriage thingy. She had been avoiding answering that question quite easily, and she was actually good at making excuses, coz talking was entirely her department and sometimes it made things difficult for Shashi Bhushan to handle her at it.
Sameer Sharma learned about Nupur's behaviour from Shashi Bhushan and holding the phone in hand, he consulted Shilpa Sharma for the same since human behaviour and psychology was the thing in which she excelled her husband and he let her have her share of authority in this case, always. He passed her the phone so that she was again narrated Shashi Bhushan's story and so she replied back, "Nupur jaroor koi plan banaa rahi hai, usne kuch soch rakha hoga aur woh aapko batana nahi chahti, mujhe to yahi lagta hai"
Shashi Bhushan replied, "Jaanta hoon, isiliye toh soch raha hoon kya karoon?"
Shilpa Sharma asked, "Aapne Gunjan se nahi poocha is baare mein?"
Shashi Bhushan replied a bit dis-appointed, "Poocha naa, par woh kuch bataaye isse pehle hi Nupur usse apne saath kheech kar lekar chali jaati hai, aise bonding hai in behno ki.....ki mujhe koi madad nahi mil sakti Gunjan se"
Shilpa Sharma laughed at his helplessness coz he was the first father she had seen who was now in a fix because of the great attachment that Nupur and Gunjan shared rather than sibling rivalry which worried most parents
Shashi Bhushan added, "Main bas itna jaanta hoon ki Nupur iss baarein mein seriously bilkul nahi soch rahi hai, bas situation se peecha chudaana chahti hai, i hope ki woh dhyaan deti aur samajh jaati ki uske liye yahi best hai"
Shilpa Sharma replied in the same thoughtful tone as his, "yahaan bhi kuch yahi haal hai Bhushanji, Mayank mujhe prove karne par laga hai apna point, logical baaton se...par mujhe lagta hai ki mujhe usse uski psychology samjhaani hi padegi...baat karni hi hogi usse"
Shashi Bhushan replied, "Haan mujhe bhi....waise Mayank office chala gaya kya?"
Shilpa Sharma replied, "Haan kabse busy tha library mein as usual, abhi gaya hai kuch hi minute pehle, aur Nupur?"
Shashi Bhushan replied, "Nupur abhi so rahi hai, uska office zara deri se hota hai naa"
Shilpa Sharma replied back, "Theek hai, main usse final baat karke aapko kal phone karti hoon, theek hai"
Shashi Bhushan replied, "Theek hai, achcha ab Sameer ko phone toh dena, mujhe usse bhi kuch baat karni hai"....Shilpa Sharma passed on the phone to Sameer and continued with her work

Nupur came back home in the evening completely drenched in the rain since she had been apparently enjoying the rain on her way back home walking while she had sent her car home by calling her dad's driver so that she doesn't miss out on the precious moments of rain. And now she had caught cold soon and already had had her dosage of scolding from her dad who only scolded Nupur and Gunjan when
necessary and this time it was. Nupur had a very carefree attitude and this Shashi Bhushan regarded as Careless Attitude when it came to her health, she had the knack of not taking care of herself often and now having got her dose from Bauji already she was a little bit mad at him, so he thought its better to talk with her about important issues later since he may fail to get her complete attention towards
the subject which was once and for all necessary. He waited to have a word from Shilpa Sharma about Mayank before talking to her.

Mayank came from the office in the evening and seeing her made a loud expression to Shilpa Sharma showing his index finger saying, "Ek minute"
Shilpa Sharma was quite surprised at this behaviour of Mayank since he did not mostly show his calm and composure taking a backseat.
She waited for him eagerly and also she wanted to talk to him now.
Mayank came back rushing towards her with the notepad on which he had been scribbling things and showed it to his Mom like a school kid who was proud of having done his home-word, he said, "Here"
Shilpa Sharma read out the heading confused and surprised, "why Nupur Bhushan is not tha right choice"
and she glared at Mayank after reading some of his points as, "Ziddi, Sar-phiri, Nautanki, Drama Queen...." and smiled a little suprised,
and said "Mayank yeh.....par achcha hai....ab jab tumhare ander yeh saari baatein hai hi nahi toh mujhe lagta woh Nupur ke zariye hi poori ho sakti hai naa...."
Mayank said surprised and a bit seriously this time a bit annoyed, "Maa aisa lagta hai tumne jo soch liya hai wahi karogi, jaise meri koi opinion ka koi matlab hi nahi hai, main kitna bhi kyun na kahu....."he breathed out and said, "kya tum mujhe force karna chahti ho apni baat manvaane ke liye?"
Now Shilpa Sharma had to reply seriously too, now that Mayank refused to understand by himself and was in no ways getting her point, she said "Mayank mai tumhe force nahi karna chahti, kabhi bhi nahi, kisi bhi cheez ke liye nahi aur yeh tum achchi tarah se jaante ho"
Mayank knew she was right here so he replied, "toh Maa ye sab kyun?"
Shilpa Sharma replied smiling, "Kyunki Mayu main woh dekh rahi hoon jo tum nahi dekh paa rahe ho....ek baar shaanti se sochke to dekho, Nupur kitni pyaari ladki hai..."
Mayank sarcastically smiled and replied, "Haan, bahut pyaari hai....kal jab maine usse sapne mein chup chaap meri baatein sunte hue dekha tha tab laga tha mujhe bhi ki bahut pyaari hai.....par Maa guess what.....naa woh kabhi meri baat shaanti se sunegi aur naa main uski"
Shilpa Sharma chuckled and said, "Arrey wah, toh ab woh tujhe sapno mein aane lagi hai, waah lagta hai kuch asar ho raha hai...good good...."
Mayank glared in dis-believe saying, "Maa!!!!"
Shilpa Sharma replied, "achcha achcha theek hai, lets talk seriously, beta Nupur kaun hai?"
Mayank replied perplexed, "Maa yeh kaunsa naya game khel rahi ho Maa.....Main"
Shilpa Sharma cut in to say, "game nahi hai bol naa...seriously bolna"
Mayank replied as if someone being asked the most basic information, "Nupur...Nupur hai Maa aur kaun hai"
Shilpa Sharma giggled and said, "Aur Gunjan kaun hai?"
Mayank replied, "Ab Gunjan kahaan se aag gayi.....well Nupur ki behen hai..."and added thinking she may ask that too, "Bhushan Uncle ki beti hai"
Shilpa Sharma looked satisfied with the answer and asked further, "achcha tumhe yaad hai, Nupur ne uss din party mein kaunse colour
ki dress pehni thi?.....aur haan Maa se hoshiyaari nahi...sach hi bolna" giving him an ultimatum
Mayank knew she would easily catch....though he never lied....he may try to get away with random answer but now he had to say this on
her ultimatum, "Maa......Purple"
Shilpa Sharma was now enjoying it and asked smiling, "Aur Gunjan ne?"
Mayank asked now, "Maa yeh Gunjan ko kyun baar baar beech mein laa rahi ho, ab iska kya matlab hua...?"
Shilpa Sharma chuckled and replied, "tu bata naa Mayu...darr kyun raha hai"
Mayank replied, "Shayad orange...?"
Shilpa Sharma replied, "Nahi wrong, you are wrong Beta, she had worn Brown...and i am abosolutely right to have thought of what i have
thought..."
