We all know that top 10 are bound to contract with zee, but once your each top 5, you have to sign yet another contract. Sometimes I wonder is it even worth being in top 5 if you are bound to a tight contract. That means for 2 years no one can contact you to do the shows for them or to sing for them because Zee Saregamapa will ask heavy amount of fee. By the time the contract is over, it's often it appears that these singers have somehow faded away from public's memory.
Harpreet did have a his own fan following during C2007, but he totally got lost in crowd. We don;'t hear much about him.
I hope Sniti mishra voice will be utilized by the MD, it's a rare voice and would hate to see it fade away because of contract.
Nihira Joshi from C2005 was not bound to a contract (by her choice) but at the same time did not get much exposure from Zee. It appears that Nihira's beautiful voice has faded away.
Amanat Ali broke the contract and went ahead to do his own thing and is very successful, but Mussarat abbas remained in the contract and was brought back in Ek Se Badh Kar Ek. When Mussarat was asked why he came back, he said he no choice, as he was bound to a contract and also he fel that he was not getting any exposure once he moved to Pakistan.
India produces wonderful singers every year, but somehow singers go unnoticed because of the contracts.
Thanks to Vishal Shekhar who have contributed their share of support for the new singers...Zee really needs to limit their contract to 1 year.
