Shama moves into new house

Shama at her Andheri residence Shama Sikandar (Pooja of Yeh Meri Life Hai) has shifted into a new house. She moved out of her old flat (with her two brothers, bhabhi, parents, sister and nephew) in Al Muhajir in Seven Bunglows, to a plush apartment in Oakland Park, Oshiwara. This, too, is a rented flat. Famous neighbours Oakland Park has many folks from the entertainment industry. Actors Amit Jain, Ranvir Shourey, Amit Sareen, Karan Oberoi, Anang Desai and others will be Shama's neighbours. "It's a pleasant surprise that so many people from the entertainment industry reside in this building," says the actress. Sikandar was hunting for a bigger, better apartment for nearly two years and saw quite a few flats before settling on this one. "I didn't want to settle in Goregaon and Malad, like most people from the industry are doing. Many of my friends and relatives are in and around Andheri." "I didn't want to appoint somebody to impose on me, tell me how I should live. So I decided to do it myself. I love bright colours, like peach, yellow, orange and maroon. And I have gone for ethnic furniture; I like it that way." Oakland Park has a gym and a swimming pool. "Now, I guess I'll work out regularly," she exclaims. Will she use the pool? "I have no reservations about swimming. In fact, I love swimming because it is the best exercise to slim down," she smiles. "I love my new house. It is so well-lit and airy, I have no words to describe it," says Sikandar, who shares her bedroom with younger sister, Salma. On the work front, Shama says she'll soon return with something meaty and hard-hitting. "I want to do something really very different. Hopefully, it will happen soon."
