Part 90 - Business Trip Results
"I wish that you didn't have to go, well, actually, I wish that I could go with you, but I don't feel comfortable with Priya traveling at this age, and I certainly can't leave her for a week."
"I don't have to go. I'll stay if you want me to." Maan smiled, watching his wife stride back and forth around their office, talking at her usually super fast speed, and totally oblivious to what he was doing.
"No, you can't do that. This project of Mr. Sen's is the biggest we've had yet, and you have to actually meet him in person, as well as view the sites yourself. No, you have to go, even if you're missed."
"Missed?" Maan smirked and came up behind Geet, placing his hands on her shoulder, and moving his head to place his cheek next to hers.
Geet quickly moved out of his embrace, stuttering, "Haan...woh...uh, the whole office will miss the CEO, of course. But, work will still go on. Yes, work. Actually, while you are gone, I want to start interviewing architects with Adi. It's been 5 months since you let Sasha go, and we haven't replaced her yet. Adi and I will screen the candidates, and have a short list prepared for when you come back. What do you think of that?"
Geet turned around for Maan's answer, but unknown to her, he had been stalking her as she continued to flit around the office. He was so close that she bumped right into him, sending both of them falling. Maan's arms went protectively around Geet as he stumbled back on the sofa. Geet landed on Maan's lap, her mouth wide open in shock.
"I'm sorry," Geet said quickly, trying to get up.
Maan wasn't having that. His arms quickly went around her waist holding her tight and pulling her back towards him. Months ago when they had the office redecorated, Maan had insisted that they have a sofa so that Geet could rest during her pregnancy. Now, he had an entirely different use in mind, and he was going to take full advantage of their position.
"Where do you think you are going, Mrs. Khurana? Now that I have you where I want you, do you think I will let you go so easily?"
Geet looked into Maan's eyes, clearly seeing his desire in them. When he looked at her like that, she could drown in his gaze. Certainly she would find it very easy to forget they were in their office, and not their bedroom.
"If I'm going to be away from you for an entire week, then I need to compensate for all that time that I won't be able to spend with you."
Maan's mention of his impending business trip reminded Geet of where they were. Pulling away slightly, and turning her head, she complained, "Maan, what are you thinking? Let me go. Someone might come!"
"Let them come!" But no one will come, as Maan had left instructions that they were not to be disturbed and locked the door.
"Someone will see."
"Let them see!" But no one will see, as Maan had closed all the blinds without Geet noticing.
Realizing Maan had no intention of being put off, Geet blushed, and said softly, "Someone will hear."
"What will they hear?" Geet just shook her head and blushed more. Maan grinned at how flustered she was. His little wife had no idea that the walls in his office were sound proof. He had them designed that way so that conversations with clients could be kept private, but it also had other uses, that he intended to take advantage of.
As Maan pulled Geet closer, he could hear her breathing increase, and was sure that her heartbeat was also going faster. Her blush became deeper, giving her cheeks a rosy glow, that severely tempted Maan to abandon his slow assault, but he held firm. He intended to savor every moment of this precious time with his gorgeous Geet. When their lips met, time stood still, and the world stopped revolving. Without breaking the contact, Maan lowered Geet gently back against the cushions, pleased that his wife offered no resistance, only enthusiastic cooperation.
Much later, Geet again complained, "You are bad, very bad. Look at how messed up our clothes are. And where is my earring? Did it fall out, or did you take it? Dusht danaav!"
"I am dusht danaav. Tumhara dusht danav. I do what I want, when I want, and everything I want centers around you." Maan gave Geet a very self-satisfied look as he held her earring up so that she could see it in his fingers.
"Humph! Dusht danaav in deed! If this is what I have to deal with, coming back to the office, then it's a good thing that you have to go away for a little while on business."
Geet didn't really mean it, of course. While Maan was away, they both missed each other like anything. Even Priya was fussier than usual, and Geet knew it was because Maan wasn't there. When ever they talked on the phone, she always made sure that Maan got a chance to speak to Priya, and those times that she could hear her father's voice, she was almost back to the happy, easygoing baby that people were used to.
The time apart was also productive. Geet was able to get a lot of work done, without Maan there as a distraction, including choosing some very promising candidates to fill Sasha's position. Maan was also able to finally put his finger on something that had been nagging him for a while. It took a lot of self thought, but he finally realized that Geet had never told him that she loved him. He was sure that she did, he could see it in her eyes every time she looked at him. And, he was absolutely sure that she would never respond to his advances the way she did, if she didn't love him. However, having confessed his own feelings for her verbally, he wanted the same admission from her. It frustrated him that she had yet to say anything.
The time they spent apart, while he was in Australia, only increased his desire to hear her say the words. Several times he tried to encourage her to say it over the phone, without asking outright, but she never said anything close to what he wanted. His return flight home was scheduled such that he arrived quite late at night. When the driver picked him up at the airport, he passed on a message from Geet that she wanted him to come to their room right away when he got home. That suited Maan fine. He had one or two things that he wanted to say to his incredibly frustrating wife!
Upon arriving home, Maan bounded up the stairs, determined to confront Geet on this important issue. He strode almost angrily into their room, intending to give her a piece of his mind, but he was stopped in his tracks by an incredible sight. Standing next to a small, candlelit table, was the most magnificent sight he had ever seen. Geet was standing there, waiting for him, in a black, see-through saree, with red and black rose designs. Her black blouse was strapless, and left little to imagination. All of Maan's plans went right out of his head, so stunned was he by the picture his wife presented.
Geet walked up to him, and grabbed his hand, leading him over to the table. Maan could see that it was filled with all his favorite foods, and a plate was already prepared. The only strange thing, was that there was just one plate, and one chair. Maan questioned Geet, but she just smiled and made him sit in the chair. She then positioned her self comfortably on his lap, and held the plate in one hand, with a fork full of food in the other. Finally understanding what her entire plan was, Maan opened his mouth, happy to give in to his wife's romantic scheme.
