Kunal Kumar recently hurt himself while shooting a cameo for SaharaOne's Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki. The actor was shooting a dance sequence with co-star Rupali Ganguly, who also makes a cameo appearance in the show.

"I was rehearsing for a really lavish song when it happened," Kunal says. "I think I got a bit carried away and ended up stepping on my toe. I should have treated myself then, but chose to ignore it and continued dancing."

The next day, Kunal had a swollen foot and had to go to the doctor. "I didn't think it would be so serious. It's only the next day that I understood the gravity of my injury." Kumar decided to carry on with the shoot and wore socks to cover up the swelling.

"It wouldn't have been ethical on my part to leave such an important shoot and go home and rest. There's lot of money at stake and the Rajshri people are great to work with. They took good care of me after my mishap."

Besides television, Kunal has directed digital short films and won awards as well. "I recently made a film called Timeless Life, on two folk dancers in Rajasthan. I have also directed Let's Smile and Water bottle, in the digital format. I think it's cool to make short films; they have a great future."
