We learn the best from all parts of the world, adapt it and are influenced by it.

Those who condemn the WEST based on some moralistic jingoism SHOULD THEN STOP USING the WEST's best products or their technology.

Those that hate the EAST's mysticism should stop adapting the ART OF WAR of Sun Tzu and Chankya Neeti

CULTURE, TRADITION ALL PERMEATE HUMANITY

Human beings are dynamic objects. THEY ARE NOT caught in a blo*dy time warp, otherwise, today you would have not had airplanes, flywheels, and cars.

Those who want to morally posture that the EAST on PLANET EARTH is so SANCTIFIED MORALISTIC SACRED PUSS should first read some of the lessons in HISTORY about how our so-called great mythological characters, historical characters from here to Hang Sue had indulged in all kinds of treatises and inglorious acts.

For those who are at the periphery of knowledge, all these demarcation zones of WEST and EAST come into play, else they will UNDERSTAND that EAST OR WEST - it still is HUMAN CREED and CREDO to adopt and adapt to anything new be it a nail or nail polish.

Today the world is becoming smaller and smaller with people becoming digital citizens and information flow becoming more faster, speedier and quicker. What is a trend in UK is a trend in Amritsar and what the Mojjiis that are a trend in Bhopal are a trend in Uptown New York.

So people, stop being rats in the rat trap and evolve, enlighten yourself and stop cribbing as well as stop your MORAL POSTURINGS saying this is right., that is bad. Who gives you the authority BTW? And what sort of logic is it that you keep on talking about your own limits and limitations rather than overcoming and coming out of some moral compass box that is just mere hypocrisy and deceit.

Entertainment in the new age will not be dictated by people with narrow minded thinking BUT with people who have the moral compass to embrace all thought patterns and ideologies without condemning them due to their own lack of understanding or depth.

Knowledge is POWER and this INTERNET age is fueled by the INFORMATION DYNAMIC that breaks the narrow walls of cluttered and hedonistic thinking patterns.

Surapaana or madhyapaana or drinking alcohol was there even in the pre historic days in ancient India

They also chew the tobacco leaves. They smoke beedi or rolled Tobacco the type of Cuban or Havana Cigars.

So what the H*ll are people talking about WESTERN CULTURE influencing gals in Bangalore.

The mujras, the sensual show through the INDIAN DANCE FORMS including SHAKUNTALAM and other epics of Kalidasa and other contemporaries glorified the female, the sensuality, and the sexuality.

Vemana, Veerbrahmam and many more such so-called holymen or learned men roamed the streets naked, so what are you talking about Westernization bringing about exposure?

@Bri: rightly said.. from the few years I spent in college in India I'm of the opinion that these new found definitions of morals and the social stigma that prevents them from discussing and being more knowledgable abt important issues is what drives some young ppl to dangerously irresponsible behavior in our cities. it has nothing to do with the 'west'.

Some of our Dance dramas had nothing but erotica and fantasy on display, so what are people cribbing about?

And take bigamy, incest, homosexuality, po*nography, from times immemorial our culture glorified images and myths around these tenets.

Our sahitya is also full of references or yakashas and ghadharvas who had so-called "IMMORAL" by some people's choice of words relationships. So what are we cribbing about? And why are we blaming the Western influence for mores and morals that are ingrained in Indian society from centuries.

Well, read it, then you will realize that both men and women had licentious relationships and illicit relationships out of the bounds of marriage.
