very well written....though nvr read much abt mythology stuff u pointed bt had checked few facts on certain kings on net long bac...i kno wat u mean here...such thngs/practices watever u name it were existent n predominent in our societies very well long before bt they hve been well glorified to such an xtent tat they are deemed as pure n DIVINE jus in the name of holy n love!

Prior to the invasions into India from different parties from Alexander to Mohammad Ghori; India had a free and open society where women had freedom to live their life; like any invasion the invaders when they invaded India, pillaged and raped women and hurt children just like today it is happening in Haiti. That is when Indian women started to go into purdah to protect themselves much like Muslim women were forced to be in the veil.

In my opinion it is all about individual selfish convenience/greed as far as things do not mess up with the perceptions of what is right and wrong people can go to any lengths to achieve what they desire...it has nothing to do whether one lives in eastern or western hemisphere....ultimately it is about Human desire nothing else...

And you are right about women forced to follow veil system...

Nice thread Bir👏 Sometimes I do wonder whts the big diffrence between East & West. where the culture & tradition conflicts? whts up with ur dress up or whats matter with ur education & how it effects in ur religion or culture? c'mon ppl. There was some period in human history when mass ppl were not alowed to get educated. The blue blood hold that power. After that we witnessed women were victimised & thrown into the darkness of ignorace. But now we hav this equal rights almost everywhere. I m not saying the situation is fully changed but almost changed. So whts the usage of these education & degrees we r having. We get them to hav a good job. Is it enough? whats our contribution in society? Isnt it our duty to throw some light to the deprived?
