Very Well put by Everyone! its always a pleasure to read so many different perspectives abt a Character..

I for on reason finding this whole Gloominess around LTL intriguing! May be because i find such dark stories more pleasant by living in such gloominess for years.. life cannot be simple! its not that easy like how mostly its represented ..

EVery character has a grey side .. its depends upon a person himself ho he/ she handles in a phase of crises and not to let him/herself barry in shadows, here the biggest role which affects a person are external forces .. the prejudices made by the same person ..

Same was in the case of Dutta.. His life started with gloominess .. but AS came into his life as a light ..drew him away .. gave him a simple life .. he grew up with simple ideology of life, surrounded by happiness dreams... then a gal came into his life who fits in his small dream world.. He has tasted the beauty of being in love, there he explored what LOVE means to him ... it was the most beautiful feeling for him .. which he canot afford to lose!! which soon shattered all his believes...The pain Of betrayal took over the feeling of love ... and made him chose a path which will only take him towards self destruction ... He knew it back then ... he WANTED to stay in shadows.. as it gave him energy to fight with the pain growing in side him of losing someone he loved dearly... .it safe to say that his bitter childhood and the pain e went through in that early phase of life revisited him .... wh kehtay hain na ki bachpan ki talkh yaadain Zehen per aik gehri chaap chhor jaati hain ... he made his weaknesses his strength .. and closed himself from the world..

Now this gal comes from nowhere.. be it the game of fortune or just a mere coincidence .. she MADE him come out of his shell...it was so difficult but she made it so easy for him!! he tried to fight back .. convinced himself not to fall again! but no.. he was drawn towards her the day they met! they shared a connection from day one .. which only became stronger with each passing day . in the end .. realization of his love for her grew in him ... the best thing happend to him was this gal has accepted him for what he is... knowing him from upside down ..

it was certainly a happiness of a life time for him the day he got married to her with all his and her will...

But... This whole happiness was abt to be shattered again ??? The instant knowledge of it was unbelievable to him .... he wanted not to believe anything around him!!! for him to "ponder" and hear her side of story at that point of time was just not happening! What a joke his life has become.. anyone can come and play with his feelings.. It wouldn't have been that a big deal if this was done by someone else.. but the gal .. with whom he shared every thing abt himself has done that to him ..... who claimed to KNOW him .. was betraying him all the time??

so a person whose heart is so fragile who has been going through a a lot since his childhood ... who is beaten badly by all the external forces around him ...and by the people he loved in the end become responsible for his pain .. its CERTAINLY not easy for him to THINK and UNDERSTAND other's prospective at this stage .. when there is a war going inside his mind and heart! let him deal with it himself!

pehlay woh khud ko tu samajh le.. phir kissi aur ko samajh paye ga.. he admits he was a fool till now .. and needs to see things with a different prospective .. harsh he will be on others now.. he will distance himself from everyone! only to get a Cure in a true sense....Its only when he will be able to see Nakusha's point! And her unconditional love for him .. and how much that gal went through form him .. after that her mistakes wil look smaller to him in front of what he did to her and to himself'

Im really delighted to get to know a Character so deep and complex like Dutta.s.Patil. the real life treatment given to him adds more to its Charm.

I was listening to "Aye kaash k ab hosh main hum" and it reminded me the song seq from LTL where Dutta Was young and was breathing love, unaware of what life has in store for him .. *sigh* It was a terrible feeling!

So as Make-believe and Anu have put it.. I too am Very much enjoying this tragic and depressive feel track to the CORE! the best part is .. dutta's character doesn't give an OTT feel to it unlike other shows where makers try hard to Capture the DEVDAS kind feel to give to their Characters...

@Sara : All I can say is very well put and thoroghly analysed by u. I agree all u had to say abt Dutta. His portrayl has been the most consistent behavior I have ever seen on screen. He is very much beleivable and as u and some heer mentioend, I am having a ball watching it. Its like watching someone paint a pic on canvas from start. Whats the fun in watching a compleetd pic?. I want to watch , know each nuaince that went behind in making that pic. I saw some ppl hating this track to core and wanting the tragic period to end soon. But as somone once said, how will one appreciate light if they havent seen darkness?. The deeper the darkness the stronger will be the appreciation for light. The stronger the sadness, the deeper will be the love for life and its happiness.

I enjoyed Dutta's realisation of love. I travelled with him in time frame and got to love in its true form. Now I want to have the same feel to this track. I want CVs to take their time, show us how bad a person can get before he/she realizes that he was wrong all along and trace his path back. Whats the fun in watching the end product, its the journey thats gonna be interesting.

Even though I had a pretty fun filled life myself, I have seen many ppl suffer a lot and I know how hard it is for some to cope up with tragedies. So Dutta for me is very much real and a very intruguing character.
