Fatal Love
There was a silence emerged through the room. And in the next few minutes everyone bent over to their bags to get their planner out and write their assignment down. Pencils on paper, pen on paper that was what everyone was doing, their heads down, hair covering the ladies side face.
"Dismissed!" everyone moved out of their seats and out of the room. Slowly giving a nod to their lecturer they walked out of the room.
Outrageously people shoved, squeezed, lapped around one another, trying to get their bags out of their lockers. Couples stood at the corners of the building, or against a wall, or a pillar and kissed until there was no end to it. Smirks, smiles, grins were exchanged by pupils around the place, the need to get their bags and out of the place was overwhelming.
"Sorry babe." A young bulky man bumped passed the slick short girl. "Sorry again." He said to the small girl, and then kissed his blond, model-like girlfriend; giving a smile and walking passed her.
"I see that you made it one piece." Jingle like laughed echoed through the corridor, a small woman can walk towards the young girl, who then reached her locker. "What?" she said innocently.
The girl turned around and rolled her eyes and went back to turning her locker combination in. "Shut up Nikki," she mumbled giggling to herself, even though she should have felt insulted.
Nikki, the girl who stood leaning beside her locker; her dark eyes, filled up with giddiness, her lashes stood up glamorously. She chuckled loudly, while the young girl beside her laughed. Her accessories chimed, while she pushed her head back to the locker, watching how the building was getting empty as time passed by. Her blue heels tapped impatiently on the floor, her blue eyes waiting for the girl beside her.
"I see you've made the day without being caught!" the young girl said beside her, as she glanced down at her mini skirt and then up her low neck blue top. "Glad to see that we aren't staying after school for your behaviour!" rolling her eyes she put her belongings into her bag.
"Come on Riya!" Nikki muttered beside her, but then she came to an apparent stop, by the glares of the young girls eyes.
She turned around and started to close her locker, "I do have a real name you know," she side glances Nikki, who started to follow the young girl out of their University.
"Yes, yes I know. Ridhima" Nikki threw her head back giggling, while Ridhima gave her the evils, but then looking at Nikki blooding eyes she laughed along with her.
Nikki laughed and chuckled along side ridhima, but then came to a stop as the made their way towards their cars. "I love you riddz." Ridhima smiled and gave her a side hug as she walked towards her red Porsche.
"Absolutely love your car." Nikki said smirking, as she walked into her Mercedes Benz. "Oh and Riddz remember; tonight" Ridhima groaned as she pushed open her car and made her way towards her house.
"See you tonight!" ridhima said as enthusiastically as possible but was dreading every single word that was spoken. "Kill me." She said as she backed away from their parking lot.
Ridhima looked at herself in the mirror, her eye liner was definitely needing replacement, her eye showdown made it through the day without being changed, and then she noticed her clothes, which definitely needed changing.
She wasn't beautiful, thought not perfect. Her beauty was natural, no need for excessive wall paint on her face, and slowly she picked up the tissue paper and wiped away the entire gross compact, the dark eye liner out of her face. Grabbing onto the stirring wheel she made way into her house, thanking her watchman she drove into her driveway.
"Riddz is that you?" who else could it be, she rolled her eyes, walking in the room. Ridhima turned around to walk into her kitchen to find her mother drenched with flour all over her clothes. "What?" her mother asked coyly.
Ridhima shrugged and laughed a little. Leaving her bag on the threshold of the kitchen, walking in she pulled off her heels and threw it off, knowing she would slip. "I see you've made a good use of your day!" Ridhima mocked her mother, as she sat on the counter.
"I tried my best," Her mother defended, as she pulled off the apron around her. "And you know cooking wasn't my favourite class at school."
Ridhima smirked quietly, as she picked up a cloth, and started wiping around the place. "That's why I do the cooking and you're meant to do the cleaning!" ridhima tossed the dirty cloth on her mother's face.
"I'm probably the only mother on the world, who gets treated so horribly by her very own daughter," her mother said dramatically, while ridhima just looked at her and rolled her eyes.
"God Mother, such a drama queen!" Ridhima muttered under her breath, as her mother and her both started cleaning the kitchen up. "I guess we don't have lunch for today!"
"There's always takeout," her mother pronounced, waltzing around ridhima.
Ridhima just huffed in annoyance, as she started washing the dishes in the sink. "Don't we do that, like everyday?" ridhima asked shaking her head
Ridhima's mother just rolled her eyes. "That's why i keep saying why bother with cooking, especially with a terrible cook like you!"
The moments flew by quickly, few words and comments were each spoken by the due, she closed her eyes worthlessly annoyed, with the fact that she was getting annoyed with her mother's words as they tried to clean the kitchen up. Ridhima turned towards the sink, wiping away the sponge in her hands.
"So-" her mother started off, leaning on the kitchen frame. "Ball tonight huh?"
Ridhima rolled her eyes to her mothers comment, as she wiped the water off her face. "Well it's not exactly a ball," she started off saying, as she sat herself on the counter, reading through the Chinese Takeout menu. "It's a get together of all the universities here, and well I think it's a good idea. Gives us a chance to see different people." Ridhima added, knowing that her mother's clocks in her head with clicking.
Her mother quivered her eyebrow. "Boys maybe"
"God Mother, is that all you ever think about?" Ridhima murmured as she walked into the living room with the phone in her hand.
Ridhima's mother nodded enthusiastically. "Well of course riddz, I need a man as well"
"Your 39!"
"And still looking glamorous" her mother defended, while ridhima put her hand up to stop her from saying more. She spoke into the phone and ordered the lunch. "Anyway-" her mother started off, while ridhima took a seat and turned the television on. "What are wearing for tonight?"
Ridhima looked scared for the moment, because she herself didn't know what she was wearing, though the thought did creep her mind a couple of time that week. She was sure that Nikki had probably already shopped for her delight but now she wanted to do the lot.
"No Mother. Not yet" ridhima said, noticing her mother gaping at her.
Ridhima watched as her mother winked at her, and disappeared into her own bedroom, coming out with a plastic bag. Her mother opened the bag and took out a cardboard box.
"Open it" She said handing ridhima the box. "Go on" she urged on.
Ridhima opened the box and came onto an awestruck at the sight in front of her. Her eyes didn't nor did her mouth move from its closing point. She watched in amazement, as her finger touched the beads of the sequences of the dressing. The lovely light orange colour didn't miss her eye.
"Wow" ridhima muttered casually, as she gaped at her mother. "When'.. Wow'. When did you buy this?" ridhima gulped, unable to get a sentence out.
Ridhima mother grinned from ear to ear. "Just a few days ago, when Nikki called me and told me you had no dress" she said angrily, hands on hips.
"Sorry" ridhima muttered apologising. "But this is just''' Wow" murmuring ridhima finished off.
She watched as her mother bowed down in front of her, and then smirked. "Go on them, you have 3 hours before Nikki gets here-" ridhima's eyes wide open. "So you better have a shower and get yourself tidy" ridhima looked at her arms and legs and decided exactly what was needed to be done.
"I'll see you in a bit" ridhima muttered walking upstairs towards her bedroom. "And Mom-" she called out, while her mother turned around to face ridhima from the stairs. "Thank you" ridhima said genuinely.
Ridhima rushed upstairs, with the box in her hand. Her eyes filled with happiness. She turned on her bath, as she ran the bubble soap bottle in the liquid of water, ridhima watched at the water turned soapy and bubbly at the same time. She slowly slid her herself into the long bathtub, the water roused through her gently, ridhima closed her eyes to the serine silence in that one room, she watched the candles around the bathroom melting it's wax into the base. But the soothing smell of the candles mimicked through the room, when ridhima stood up and started on waxing her arms and legs, she ran her hands around her milky thighs, suddenly excited about the night.
Ridhima walked out of the room, 2 hours later, knowing that Nikki would have been on her way here already. She wiped her hair onto one side, as she heard the door bell ring and Nikki's shrieking voice mumbling across the corridor.
"Riya, you decent?" she could hear the mischievous tone occurring in her voice, a without a warning, Nikki burst into the room. "Aw, don't you look....... pretty" ridhima laughed at her, as she wrapped herself into a towel.
Ridhima looked at the bag of Victoria Secret in her hand, she groaned quietly, and in her other bag was House of Frasers, but as well as that ridhima saw the huge compound of make-up box.
"I'm going to regret this" ridhima murmured while Nikki giggled at her, and then put the bags onto ridhima's bag.
"What shall we do first?"
*~*
2 hours later ridhima stood in front of the mirror, with her best friend right beside her, her eyes moved towards Nikki lovely mid-long blue dress, it had definitely suited her body, and it made her blue streaks of make-up look dazzling on her. Nikki had brought beautiful blue pumped up shoes, which definitely showcased her legs out, wearing dark blue accessories; she had everything planned out superbly.
While ridhima herself, wore a lovely orange dress, the sequences fitting, hugging her body enchantingly, while the long dress reached to her feat, the cut slit across from the side of her dress towards her thigh was mesmerising, she herself couldn't believe how sexy she was looking in the mirror, devastatingly beautiful the dress was, such an oxymoron to describe a dress of devilishly prude.
"Ready to rock the ball" Nikki smirked at the side of her. While all ridhima could do was nod at her best friend, Nikki had definitely out done herself with the make-up department for sure. Ridhima's eyes shone beautifully orange, the dark mascara was a perk on her eyes, the eyeliner dark orange, and it was shimmering on her skin.
"Kudos to you Nikki" ridhima muttered, while they left the room with purses in each of their hands. Ridhima gripped onto the side of the railings, hoping she wouldn't fall; her sliver shoes were not as stable as her.
Ridhima smiled at her mother who was grinning from ear to ear at the edge of the staircase. Ridhima watched as she slowly wiped a small tear away from her eyes, all she wanted to do was laugh at the dramatic action. They both reached at the end of the staircase, before her mother pulled both her and Nikki into her a hug.
"Aww don't you both look beautiful today" her mother said kissing them both on their forehead.
Nikki gave a look. "Aunty, Make-up" she said defensively, making both ridhima and her mother laugh. "Very funny, now come on riya, it's nearly 8, we have to get going" she said tugging onto ridhima's arm.
Ridhima waltzed away with Nikki, as she saw the black Honda standing in front of her house, ridhima shook her head at the amount of cars Nikki actually had. Too many to count
"Oh and girls, remember-" her mother called out. "You have uni tomorrow, so get home early" both the girls groaned annoyed at the fact that they had to do to university tomorrow, even after the amount of drinks they were going to dunk tonight.
"We'll try" Nikki whispered, as they both speeded out of the house and onto the main road. "Ready"
"Like i'll ever be"
*~*
It would be an underestimate to say that the ball was terrible; it definitely was the most gorgeous thing ever. Ridhima eyes wondered to the champagne fountain in the middle of the room, and then the enormous orchestra at the background. She watched as everyone was draped with a mask on their face, while ridhima herself was masked with a beautiful orange one. Her eyes wondered around to see Nikki dancing with a man on the floor, ridhima laughed.
"Of course, only Nikki could find a guy in about 10 minutes" ridhima smirked, as she watched Nikki wound her arms around the man's neck, her body rubbing against his.
"Well so could you" Ridhima jumped off her skin, she turned around to see a figure standing behind her. A man more likely, he was just a few inches taller than her. "Would you like to dance?" he asked softly, his voice filled with oozing lust, but from the mask covering the edges of his face, ridhima could see the burning passion in his eyes.
"Hmm yea" Ridhima whispered silently, as she watched in utter dismay the Greek God like man, taking her hand swiftly into his large deep ones, as they made their way to the dance floor.
Ridhima slowly put her hand on his shoulder, as she felt his palm being placed flat across her back, and in those soft moments the pull from the front was immense. Ridhima closed her eyes as she felt her body being pushed forward, colliding with the fresh figure in front of her, she looked up to see his blue eyes pouring so vividly in front of her.
Don't tear me down for all I need
Make my heart a better place
Give me something I can believe
Don't tear me down
You've opened the door now, don't let it close
I'm here on the edge again
I wish I could let it go
I know that I'm only one step away
from turning it around
The moments grew longer, but ridhima still felt as if she was floating in the air, as they waltzed around the room, she saw Nikki from the corner of her eye, and saw the wicked wink sent from her way. Ridhima felt herself blushing at the sudden overwhelming sense easing through her, but suddenly she felt a hand on her cheek, as she looked up and saw that the man in front of her was simply curious at her, she tried to tell him that she was fine, but her eyes were betraying her, as her body felt like she was on fire, wishing that this man could just take her away, away from the gazes of everyone's eyes, and leave it between just them two.
"Is everything okay mia Princessa?" Ridhima gasped at his tender yet rasped words, cruising through her sensitive ears, wishing he would whisper more words through her.
Ridhima simple nodded, and watched as he smile, which automatically made her smile.
"I think you were wrong before" Mr Greek God whispered in her ears yet once again. Ridhima looked up, confusion ripping through her face.
Ridhima shrugged slightly, unable to profane any words. "What about?" she could hardly recognise her own husky hoarse voice, which felt as if it was floating across the room?
"That only your friend was going to find a guy, I think you've captured every man's heart in the ball" his voice whispered in soft murmur, ridhima closed her eyes as she felt her self get intoxicated by his scent.
She shook her head, as she looked up to notice his mischief gaze. "I think your being too kind" ridhima whispered to Mr Greek God.
"No Mia Princessa-" he shook his head, as she watched his eyes shift between the mask. "I would never lie, I speak from my heart"
Ridhima's breath hitched, as she paused at his words, yet swiftly they started to waltz once again through the room, though she had no idea how she was to stop herself from staring at the God like creature in front of her.
"I think you've captured far too many hearts" ridhima closed her eyes as the words slipped out of her mouth before she could stop herself, her eyes lowered onto their feet, as the danced.
Wordlessly she shyly looked up from her lashes, just to see a perfect smirk sitting on his lips. "Did I capture your heart Mia Princessa?" his words filling up her heart, as she blushed, watching him chuckle at her discomfort.
"I'm not sure, I haven't made up my mind about you yet" she had no idea where the confidence and boldness came in her, but the sense of proud ness scattered through her. "But I'm sure I should have by the end of the end, ask me then" ridhima grinned, as she watched the man's facial expression change, so remarkably beautifully.
Slowly ridhima watched, as he pulled her even more closely, her back arched against his body, as she felt herself heave against his broad chest. In such agony his face dropped down, his ice fingers brushing her hair to one side, and then his sweet lips touched her ear bud. "Mia Princessa, I can't wait for you to share your thoughts" did his voice just drop octaves?
Ridhima shook her head, trying to clear your mind. "You shouldn't do that" ridhima accused him, as they now slow danced to some song, but ridhima's mind and body was occupied by some other.
"Shouldn't do what?" his voice filled with innocence, yet ridhima knew that he was faking, due to his mysterious yet cunning eyes. "Do tell Princessa"
Ridhima shook her head, annoyed, as she started to hear the song now, had they been dancing through 2 songs? Time had flown by, ridhima looked around and spotted Nikki is some guys arms, not a surprise. Though what was a surprise was this man in front of her, who still seemed interested in her, well it seems that way because he hadn't ran away'. Yet
"Dazzle me like that" ridhima muttered feeling annoyed about herself; while she looked up to see his confused face. "Don't tell me you don't know that you dazzle people?"
He shook his head, his eyes moulding so gently in a swift surrender. "I don't know what you mean Mia Princessa" he said, as suddenly she felt herself being twirled around.
Ridhima shook her head, and just smiled, as they began dancing across the room, she could once again feel the excitement building up from below her foot, as she felt herself twirling and waltzing around the room. Her hand firm on his shoulder, while his palm sprawled across her back, it made things feel more magical, as their feet moved smoothly around each other.
"Mia Princessa" ridhima looked up to hear his husked filled voice flittering her ears yet once again. "Do you want to keep on dancing?" she watched his eyebrows cock up.
Ridhima tilted her head to the side, as she heard the music change into a slower pace again. "What else did you have in mind?"
She watched Mr Greek God smile, as she felt his hand placed firmly into her own hands, in sudden remark, her fingers interlocked with his. Ridhima looked up to see her Greek God walking her out of the ball room, suddenly she felt scared and frightened, she didn't know who this man was, nor had she ever seen his face before, and unknowingly she was trusting him with her everything.
"Don't be afraid Mia Princessa, I would never hurt you" his words comforted her, as she smiled at him, leading away from the ball and out into the grass field.
Ridhima looked around, the backyard field was beautiful. Small white lamps filled the yard, little butterflies sweeping across the trees and through the small bushes. Ridhima smiled as she saw the white swing stocked in the middle of the Greenland. She turned to see the man beside her, suddenly all the urges of running away were scraped away from her mind, and all she wanted now was to curl up against her Greek God.
"It's so beautiful" Ridhima muttered, as she started walk before he could reply back. But she was sure to hear the words; 'yes you are' from his lips.
Ridhima walked over to the swing, as she sat down on it, childhood memories started to flood back, she felt the swing shift as he sat beside her. Ridhima stared at him, as he smiled back at her, letting her smile back. "Mia Princessa, tell me about yourself"
And that's how it went.
It felt like forever, but 2 hours had passed by, and neither of them was bored. Ridhima stared at him through her mask, only to find him in his mask, the only thing either could see was their eyes and lips, and not the whole face. But 2 hours, they laughed, they told stories, and it still wasn't enough, all that was going through Ridhima's head was 'More'. The urge to have more of him, more of his time, see more of him, and yet she couldn't do anything to take away that need. Ridhima looked at him now, as she remembered they talked about their passed ex's, she also realised that he was only 2 years older to her, and fresh out of university, she found out that he was an only child, and he found out about her erratic mother. Then they talked about their childhood, she found out that his first kiss was when he was 10, his first girlfriend was when he was 14, and that from his first girlfriend he has had 15 girlfriends since then, yet no one appealed to him, no one reached or touched his heart. Then how swiftly their conversation moved to, favourite song, favourite movie, favourite actor and actress, all time embarrassing moment, and that was funny on both sides of the swing. And still none of them had enough; all she had in her head was more.
'Love at first sight is nothing but a whole lot of guff'
She could hear her professor's words ringing in her mind, and all she could think about was the fact that he was lying, that love at first sight has the same possibility as love happening as time goes on. Ridhima turned her head to see her man, a soft grin crept up her face, her man, and still even after 2 hours of their conversation, none of them had said their names yet. How she wished she could whisper her name, when her touched her hand, or when his fingers weaved through her hair, how she wished he could moan her name when she would tug on his hair. Yet it was impossible, and then a few seconds later the moment was gone.
Ridhima came startled as she saw her man laughing at the side, ridhima stared down at her phone, was her phone really on her all this time? Ridhima shook her head and pulled out her phone from her purse, and a scowl appeared on her face as she saw Nikki's name caressing on the screen. She watched as the call ended, she automatically turned to her man, her face filled with sorrow, she knew it was time to leave.
"I have to go" Ridhima whispered as she stood up and pulled her dress properly down. "It was nice meeting you" Her voice was filled with remorse and rage that she was leaving.
Suddenly his hand tightened on her hand, pulling her closer. "Don't go Princessa" his voice begged, pleaded, but all ridhima could do was stare in those blue eyes and pray that she was not to fall. "Please"
"I'm sorry, my friend's waiting for me, and I must take your leave" Ridhima muttered unwillingly, she turned to leave but his fingers on her wrist just got tighter. "Please, I have to go"
"You can't" he whispered, as ridhima felt his standing right behind her, she could feel his body heat pressing onto her orange so called dress. "I want to know you, I want to talk to you, and I want you" Ridhima gasped at his words, as she felt her head loll back onto his shoulder, his fingers pressed ever so lightly on waist, as she felt herself being pushed behind. "Don't leave"
Ridhima tried to reason with herself, and knew that the moment she looks around and turns to see him she wouldn't be able to say now. But in that exact moment her phone rang once again, ridhima looked down to see it ringing in her purse. She slowly leaned her head back, and saw his gazing stare looking down at her, his eyes beseeching her, how she wished she could lean into him and his earnest request.
"I'm sorry" Ridhima whispered, as she flung herself out of his arms, and started to run her way into the ball to find Nikki. She could feel how wrong it was, that all she wanted was to spend some more time with Mr Greek God, but even she knew that it was over, that this was it.
"Princessa!" Ridhima halted in her steps, as she heard his voice shout from a distance, turning around she saw him running towards her, how gorgeous and delightful he looked in his tux, yet she knew that this was it.
Ridhima stood face to face in front of her man, she could hear the phone ringing in her purse, but that was far from her mind, all she could think about was the intense gaze of this man in front of her, her heart started pounding, she could hear it so loudly in her ears, yet she made no move, all she did was give back that same gaze with everything from her heart.
"Princessa-" he started off, taking a step closer to her, ridhima felt her body flush at the movement. "You have something I need, I want" his words short yet filled with that same need that was oozing through her.
Ridhima looked at him confused as she saw him taking another step towards her. "I don't know what you talking about, I-"
Before she was to finish her sentence off, her lips were shut, with none other than his lips. Ridhima heaved in delight, as she felt him pulled her body right up against hers; her eyes came shut, as her hands quickly fastened around his neck, she felt his hand come sharply around her waist, and then one cupping her cheek, as their lips fumbled around each other, whispering, dancing, and electing each other in a teasing manner. Ridhima gave everything into it, she could feel his tongue entering her lips, cutting it yet so softly, and then suddenly both fighting for dominance, the sweet want of surrender and the deep need of want raced through her. She slowly pulled back, as she stared at him, their faces only inches away, her breathing ragged completely and suddenly that wasn't all she wanted.
"More" before she could comprehend her own words, his lips came crashing down on her, as now her fingers started tugging on his hair, how she had wished for so long to touch his silk like hair, as now her fingers curled around them, pulling it from the his scalp and rushing it through the kiss.
Ridhima could hear once again the phone ringing, and it was the third time during the kiss, she knew that now she couldn't ignore it, and that Nikki would go mental if she didn't get back inside. Ridhima pulled away from the kiss, as now she slowly pushed away his mask out of his face, to come face to face with the amazing man species she had ever acknowledged, ridhima stared at his flushed face, his soft blush on the edge of his neck, how she itched to touch his face again.
"I need to see you" And in that whisper her mask was ripped out of her face, she turned to the side, as the breeze brushed past her face. In slow agonised movement she saw his hand reaching out to brush her hair out of her face. "Mia Princessa" his words came out grasped and tattered.
Ridhima closed her eyes and took in that moment, because in exactly a few seconds later her phone rang, and this she had to go. "Bye" ridhima whispered, as she lifted her finger to touch her lip, and then press that same finger against his lips.
And then she ran.
*~*
"Wasn't that magical?" ridhima was sure that she was going to slap Nikki soon if she doesn't stop talking. "I mean, isn't Abhi just amazing"
Ridhima gave a fake grin, as she tried to hide her annoyance. It's like as if it was yesterday, and it was, that she met her Greek God Man, the same night that Nikki met her so called Abhi, because since last night all she could talk about was; 'Abhi this, and Abhi that' and ridhima was very close to committing murder for the first time.
"Look I have to go okay" ridhima said softly, as she hugged Nikki and made her way towards English, and on her way to English there were too many new rumours flooding around.
'Oh, did you hear our professor is gone to Vegas'
'Apparently his getting married, - you know what happens in Vegas never really stays Vegas'
'Have you seen the new teacher though? Swoon'
'I heard his only 2 ' 3 years older to us, yikes, maybe i can have a chance with him'
Ridhima shook her head, as she tried to reason with herself, knowing that her old professor was probably on holiday, which meant that she would just have to do with this new teacher, who apparently might not know anything, because he was only 2 years older. Not much experience then. Ridhima took her seat in class, as she watched all the eager girls take the front seat, ridhima rolled her eyes, she laid her head on the desk. Suddenly she could hear the sharp intakes on breaths in the class, and obviously the scoffs on the boys coming from the back row.
Ridhima looked up and suddenly she came shocked with the visitor in front of the class, her breath hitched and she knew that she was dead. "Morning class, I'm Mr Malik, and you can call me Armaan, Armaan Malik" and suddenly his eyes paused and opened with the same shock.
