RECAP:

Armaan pretends to be angry for sometime and Ridhimaa tries to 'manaofy' him. When Ridhimaa is doubtful about the make-up she is supposed to wear, Armaan helps her. Tamanna barges inside and teases both of them. Armaan goes to change after telling Ridhimaa not to be late. Tamanna sees tears in Ridhimaa's eyes and tries to ask the reason but Ridhimaa escapes from the matter. After seeing Tamanna and Matthew off, Armaan drives Ridhimaa to the Gupta House. On the way, he finds Ridhimaa upset. When he asks what the matter was, (afraid that probably she was crying because he was angry with her), Riddhima breaks down and tells him that after she leaves, he would not take care of himself. Armaan promises her that he would and calls her his "Jaan".

PART 424:

Ridhimaa glanced at Armaan. He smiled as Ridhimaa rang the doorbell. A second's wait and the door opened, followed by a shriek and Ridhimaa was hoisted off her feet altogether. Before Armaan could step back in surprise, something (or someone) rammed hard against him.

Armaan: (struggling to free himself) Ouch! Champ… yaar… bas…

At last, Atul relieved him of his steel grip. Armaan's eyes scanned around. Ridhimaa was still being hugged by Maan, both pairs of eyes wet.

Atul: Aur… bol… kaisa hai tu?

Armaan: (grinning) Tum logon ko ho kya gaya hai? Aise behave kar rahe ho jaise saalon baad mile hain. Abhi kal shaam ko hi to…

Rahul: (appearing at Atul's side, followed by Muskaan) Tujhe kya problem hai, hum jaise bhi behave karein…

Muskaan: Aur nahi to kya… shaadi hui hai… shaadi ke baad to ladke joru ke gulaam ban jaate hain… ab kya pata fir tu kitne saal baad Ridzi ke pallu se baahar nikle…

Armaan: Arrey waah Muskaan! Tumhe to bada pata hai ki ladke shaadi ke baad kaise ho jaate hain… Rahoool ko pallu se kab nikaalogi?

Muskaan: (moving towards Ridhimaa) Tum ladkon se to baat karna hi bekaar hai…

Ridhimaa was hugged by Muskaan, then Atul, then Rahul. Anjali, Shashank, Nani, Gazal arrived there, followed by Padma who was holding a tray of 'aarti' in her hands.

Padma: Chalo-chalo… pehle aarti hogi… fir sab aaraam se Armaan-Ridhimaa se mil lena…

But Shashank had already stridden forwards and wrapped Ridhimaa in a tight embrace. Padma looked at Nani and both smiled. Armaan didn't know whether to stand back and smile at this beautiful moment or try to console Ridhimaa, whose cries were getting hysterical. He chose the former, knowing Shashank was the one whom Ridhimaa needed at the moment.

When the tears stopped and Shashank and Ridhimaa separated (and smiled), Padma came forwards and beckoned Armaan to come and stand next to Ridhimaa. She took the aarti and blessed the couple. Armaan touched Padma's feet and hugged her. Then he wiped her tears and smiled, and Padma copied the smile. Next, he touched Shashank's feet.

Shashank: (hugging Armaan tightly) Thank you… thank you so much…

Armaan: (bewildered) Kisliye Daddy?

Shashank: Mujhe tum pe garv karne ka liye ek aur reason dene ke liye…

Armaan couldn't decipher what Shashank meant, but he let it go and went towards Nani to touch her feet.

Nani: (kissing Armaan's forehead after blessing him) Khush raho beta… Ridhimaa ne zyada tang to nahi kiya na?

Armaan glanced towards Ridhimaa, who was looking shocked at Nani's question.

Ridhimaa: Aapko lagta hai ki maine Armaan ko tang kiya hoga?

Anjali: (teasing) Nahi-nahi… I'm sure Armaan ne hi tang kiya hoga…

Gazal: (adding) Haan… Ridhimaa to waise bhi bahut sharmaati hain. Shuruaat Armaan ne ki hogi… fir uske baad…

Ridhimaa turned red and turned back to hug Padma, hiding her face. Armaan almost wished he was a girl, so that he could hide his face in his hands too. To hide his awkwardness he turned towards Gazal and Anjali with what he thought was an angry expression.

Armaan: Tum dono ko sharam nahi aati ye sab bolte hue?

Anjali: Tumhe ye sab karte hue sharam nahi aayi… to hume bolte hue kyun aayegi?

Armaan: (indignant) Maine kya kiya?

Muskaan: (alarmed) To tune kuch nahi kiya?

Armaan: (calmly) Kya kuch nahi kiya Muskaan?

Muskaan: Wo…

Atul: Arrey wahi…

Armaan: Kya wahi?

Gazal: (unabashed) Wahi… suhaagraat and all…

Armaan wanted to either kill Gazal or kill himself at the moment.

Armaan: Maan… apni would-be-wife ko samjha dijiye… agar iska muh band nahi hua to…

Maan: (consolingly) Sorry Armaan… meri ab itni bhi himmat nahi hai ki is FM Radio ka muh band karwa sakun…

Gazal: (angrily, her hand on her hips) Kya kaha? Main FM Radio? Radio honge aap, aapka pura khaandaan…

Armaan: Oye! Sasuraal me khade hokar sasuraal waalon ke liye aise bolte sharam nahi aati?

Gazal thought about what Armaan said and clapped her hands on her mouth. The others laughed and Padma called the rarely-blushing Gazal to join the embrace too. Armaan, relieved of the discomforting questions, touched Maan's feet, who hugged him.

Maan: (whispering) Riddhi ko tumne kitna pareshaan kiya? Dono ki aankhein itni red ho rahi hain jaise raat bhar…

Armaan rolled his eyes and turned to leave withut bothering to retaliate.

Maan: Achha-achha… sorry-sorry…

Armaan: Nahi… it's okay… mujhe jaana hai…

All: (together) Jaana hai? Kahaan?

Armaan hadn't expected all of them to glare at him. He faltered a little.

Armaan: Wo… bas Ridhimaa ko chhodne aaya tha… ab jaana hai…

Shashank: Ridhimaa ko chhodne aaye the, matlab? Tum ruk rahe ho yahin…

Armaan: (remembering what Ridhimaa had told him) Main kal aaunga na… Ridhimaa ko lene…

Padma: Yahin ruko… kal saath me chale jaana… ye tumhara bhi ghar hai.

Armaan looked at Ridhimaa, who nodded hastily. Armaan knew she was feeling guilty even now.

Armaan: Aaj nahi… abhi RIDZ jaana hai… shaam ke Reception ki saari preparations bhi karni hain…

Atul: Tujhe khud saari preparations karni hain kya?

Muskaan: Yahaan se call karke order de dena… wo log sab kar lenge. Tujhe jaane ki kya zaroorat hai?

Armaan: (a little angry at the suggestion) Wo log mere naukar nahi hain jo main unhe order dekar apne Reception ke liye kaam karwaun.

Rahul: (defiantly) Muskaan ka ye matlab nahi tha…

Armaan had calmed down.

Armaan: (giving a one-armed hug to Muskaan) I know… Muskaan, I'm sorry. But Rahul… jis tarah Muskaan tere liye special hai… usi tarah Ridhimaa mere liye special hai…

He glanced towards Ridhimaa. She was looking at him only, like everyone else.

Armaan: (his gaze not wavering from her) And I want to make it special for Ridhimaa… I want to do it myself…

Ridhimaa was captivated. There was no way by which she could take her eyes off and break that eye lock. Armaan turned to leave again and Ridhimaa got her senses back.

Ridhimaa: Armaan…

Armaan stopped at the door but did not turn.

Ridhimaa: (calling again) Armaan…

Armaan turned around. He couldn't look at Ridhimaa. He knew if he would, then he wouldn't be able to leave.

Ridhimaa: Lunch karke chale jaana Armaan…

Armaan looked at her. Ridhimaa's eyes were beseeching him to stay there, even if for just a few more minutes. Armaan almost felt that his feet were glued to the floor. He couldn't move, captured by Ridhimaa's earnest gaze.

Armaan: (to the room at large) Shaam ko milte hain… Reception me… 8 p.m… bye.

All except Ridhimaa: (half-heartedly) Bye…

Armaan's eyes pleaded with Ridhimaa to release him from her penetrating brown stare. While Armaan's feet were immobile, Ridhimaa's were desperate to bring her where she most wanted to be.

Armaan: (waiting for a response) Bye Ridhimaa…

Ridhimaa scarcely remembered moving at all. It was simply a blur; as was running across the room, rushing upto Armaan, and jamming onto his chest. Yet, Ridhimaa was completely conscious of her actions by the time she pressed her face against his neck, kissing him softly there.

Ridhimaa: (her eyes watering) Mat jao Armaan…

Armaan was overwhelmed at her request, the tears in her eyes disturbing him even more.

Armaan: (tenderly wiping away Ridhimaa's tears) Ridhimaa…

The others present there were at a loss. They couldn't understand why Ridhimaa was crying. She had been so happy when she came there with Armaan, and now when Armaan was leaving, she couldn't let him go!

Shashank: (to Padma)Tum to mere jaate waqt kabhi aise nahi karti…

Padma: (hitting him with her elbow) Shashank!

Shashank: (not able to stop himself) Haye! Ab humari beti sach me parayi ho gayi hai…

Padma: (a little aggressively this time) Shashank!

Shashank obediently shut his mouth. Others were still being the silent spectators of the scene going on in front of them.

Armaan: (wiping all the tears spilling continuously from Ridhimaa's eyes) Shh… bas Ridhimaa… ab nahi rona… mujhe tumhare aansuon se…

Ridhimaa: (completing for him) Takleef hoti hai? Itni takleef hoti hai to mat jao. Fir nahi roungi…

Armaan: Ridhimaa… hum is bare me baat kar chuke hain na?

Ridhimaa: (blinking back her tears) Mujhe kuch nahi pata…

Armaan: (desperately) Jaan…

Ridhimaa stopped crying and set her beautiful, watery eyes upon him. Armaan now knew how to handle Ridhimaa.

Armaan: (repeating lovingly) Jaan…

Ridhimaa smiled.

Armaan: Ab rona nahi… okay?

Ridhimaa did not answer.

Armaan: Okay Jaan?

Ridhimaa sighed and nodded.

Armaan: Main jaun?

Ridhimaa shook her head.

Armaan: (smiling) Jaan… main jaun?

Ridhimaa didn't answer, not did she raise her head.

Armaan: I love you Ridhimaa…

Ridhimaa: (looking up) I love you too Armaan…

Armaan: (cupping Ridhimaa's face in his hands) Meri Jaan apna khayal rakhegi na?

Ridhimaa: Hmm…

Armaan: Good! Ab ek achhi si, pyari-wali smile do…

Ridhimaa wasn't going to obey Armaan's orders if he wasn't going to stay there. She didn't smile. Armaan knew Ridhimaa was angry.

Armaan: Agar tum smile karogi to tumhe tumhare patidev ki jadu ki jhappi milegi…

Ridhimaa's smile was blinding. Armaan engulfed her into his strong arms. He lowered his head to kiss her cheek when Ridhimaa turned her head, joining her lips with his. Armaan stiffened for a second, conscious of everyone's presence, but then he let himself to be driven by Ridhimaa's passion. The kiss was slow and deliberate; quite a contrast to the wild beating of the hearts.

Shashank tried to look indifferent, but then Padma held his hand and smiled. Shashank nodded and relaxed. Maan was determinedly looking at anyone or anything but at the couple in front of him. The others were beaming, looking utterly relaxed and satisfied.

Ridhimaa was the one who started the kiss and she was the one who ended it too. When she pulled away, Armaan didn't open his eyes for a few seconds. Ridhimaa's cheeks grew hot, now realizing that she had kissed Armaan in front of her family and friends. Armaan opened his eyes to find a blushing Ridhimaa in his arms. He dropped a quick kiss on her forehead, muttered "I love you" and rushed out of the door. He started the car and drove away before his heart could demand to go back where Ridhimaa was standing at the door, waving him goodbye, expecting Armaan to return back any moment.
