Salman Khan allegedly had differences with Abhinav Kashyap while Dabangg was being made. Arbaaz Khan or Sohail Khan may now direct the sequel

| After setting the cash registers ringing at the box office, Dabangg has now become one of the biggest successes of the year. In fact, the film has marginally broken the record Aamir Khan's Ghajini had set. However, Abhinav Kashyap may not be a part of Dabangg 2. Kashyap who made his debut as a director with Dabangg rose to fame in no time. But apparently, Arbaaz Khan or Sohail Khan will direct the sequel. The sudden change has come as a shock to many in the industry. Grapevine has it that Salman Khan did not particularly enjoy his stint with Abhinav in the director's seat. Our source said, "All is not well between Abhinav and Salman. The actor and the director had some tiffs during the shooting of Dabangg. This has resulted in certain very crucial roles being altered at the last moment. Abhinav will not be a part of the sequel of the film. While most of the cast remains the same the only major change will be the director. The sequel has already been announced. It will be titled Rohinhood Chulbul Pande, with Salman, Sonakshi, Arbaaz and Sonu Sood definitely as a part of it." Apparently, after several tiffs with Abhinav, Salman Khan made it a point to sit at the edit of Dabangg. At that stage, Sallu even took help from his trustworthy friend David Dhawan. It was only when Salman was happy with the final cut that the film was released. Mumbai Mirror had also reported some time ago that Abhinav Kashyap had started demanding very high remuneration from production houses, after the success of Dabangg. The debutant director was severely criticised in the industry for this attitude and he may have lost out on the sequel for this reason too. Abhinav on the other hand has moved on and has apparently signed a film with Shri Astavinayaka Cine Vision that may star Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Arbaaz Khan however said, "As of now, there's nothing like this." |
