Part 1
Jyoti continues by telling Pankaj that she can't fulfill his desire, and that while Kabir wants her to do that, she too has her duties towards him & his happiness, and can't do that to the person who worships her. She points out that Kabir was prepared to sacrifice his marriage for her happiness. So she can't betray him like that. She tells Pankaj that she knows that he loves his daughter, and so does she. When Pankaj abandoned them, she bore it for 9 months in her womb. It was her misfortune that she couldn't see it after it was born, and tells Pankaj pointedly that it's the result of his selfishness that their daughter is suffering. She then says that if her faith is true, then the gods won't snatch her daughter from her. However, she is not going to carry Pankaj's baby in her womb again. She turns & leaves.
Back @ home, Jyoti is back to her legendary crying, w/ mala hibra & all that [XX(] and says to herself that she doesn't have the right to be called a mother. At the site where they met, Kabir apologizes to Pankaj (why?) and tells him he tried everything. As it is, neither of them can pressure Jyoti. As her hubby, it's his duty to support her in each decision of hers. He assures Kabir that as long as Roshni is w/ them, he'll do what he can to keep her happy. Pankaj agrees and whines that since God snatched the Roshni of his eyes, it's now come to this, and protests that it was not right.
On the phone, Padma tells Jyoti that the giving & taking of lives is up to the almighty, and there's nothing they humans can do about it. Jyoti is not convinced, and turns to the shrine (where else?) asks her why she didn't punish Jyoti instead, and complains to Padma that the goddess is not answering. Padma suggests that she come over for a few days, but Jyoti tells her that she can't leave Roshni (I thought Padma was suggesting that she bring Roshni as well) and that she'd not let her see her tears while she was w/ her. Padma too looks @ her shrine.
Part 2
Next morning, Jyoti & Roshni are sitting on the floor doing the alpana, and Jyoti asks Roshni which color she wants to use. Asha, Bhavri & Reshmi arrive, and are amazed @ the decorations, and come down, and Asha praises Roshni for doing her magic. Asha asks whether the doc has prescribed a cure, but Jyoti says that happiness doesn't depend on how much time one has left. She's decided that however many Deepavalis Roshni sees will all be memorable, and also asks them not to mention any sad things. Whatever situations arise will be faced w/ a smile. She doesn't know how much time Roshni has left, but regardless, she won't allow any sadness to fill in her life.
Bhavri picks Roshni up and starts dancing, and Jyoti is happy @ the scene. Then Asha takes her, and the 3 continue. Kabir is watching this secretly, and admires Jyoti's courage, and appreciates the meaning of her name.
Jyoti is lighting a diya, and Asha notes that she's arranged everything, not leaving anything for them. Jyoti tells them that there's a lot left and they need to attend to the guests. Then RP comes in and marvels @ the arrangements, and Asha tells him that it's all Jyoti's work. (Today, Raghuveer finally resurfaces - he had been inconspicuous by his absense the last few weeks) RP praises them, & Bhavri decides to horn in on the credit, claiming to have helped her. They all chuckle.
Everybody does the Lakshmi pujas, & Jyoti the arati, and Jyoti notices that Kabir is not happy. However, she notes to herself that she's not going to let any sadness befall them. Raghuveer asks Jyoti to quickly distribute the prasad, so that they can start the celebrations & Bhavri says she's ready. She asks him whether he meant singing & dancing, and Raghu says no, he meant fireworks. 😆
Outside, everyone is enjoying the fireworks - Asha is helping Roshni w/ some sparklers, and everyone else is enjoying, and Kabir & Jyoti are happy to see Roshni happy as well 😊 Vikrant & his friends are drinking 😲 (probably since in his previous avatar as Lakshman-ji, Vikrant is used to being welcomed, not do the welcoming himself 😆) while he eyes the new girl and she blushes. Vikrant goes up to her and ask her if she wants to hear her praises, and she says that she knows she looks very beautiful. Vikrant tells her that he wants to tell her something she doesn't know. She asks him to tell her in front of everybody, but Vikrant tells her that the fun would be spoilt. He then drags her inside and takes a gulp, and the girl tells her that he's not in his senses. Vikrant then hands the glass to a waiter, and then takes a plate of sweets and they both start feeding each other in a romantic manner. Asha arrives and notices this from a distance, shocked.
Part 3
Bhairavi arrives @ Jyoti's place and wishes her Diwali greetings. She however wonders how long it would be happy (for Roshni), and Jyoti tells her that as long as she can keep it that way, she will (and stop calling her choti-ma, Jyoti, she's no longer that for you) Bhairavi tells her that if she wants, she can enable that to be for good, and Jyoti tells her that she's made her decision. Bhairavi tells her that she understands that it's very difficult for her to carry Pankaj's baby but for the sake of her child, it's surely possible for her to do it.
Jyoti tells her that had it been just a question of her, she would give her life for Roshni, but it's not just her. She's married into this big family and has a hubby who supports her every step of the way, and is willing to sacrifice his life in her support. Even if he doesn't say so, it's her duty to fulfill her responsibilities to him & his family.
Bhairavi tells her that these decisions are all right in & of themselves, but the wrong ones for a mother to take (Bhairavi, the only thing you ever cared about was Pankaj and his ego and ignored everything else, and today, he's in the state he's in. Jyoti would do well not to follow your example.) She tells her that if not today, she'll be more aware of it in the future, and may even regret it. By then, it would be too late. She tells Jyoti that if she changes her mind, she has very little time to do it. That's all she came to say. Bhairavi then leaves.
The diyas all start going out one by one, but Jyoti uses her hand to cover one diya and keep it burning. Just then, Bhavri comes & tells her that while playing, Roshni's health again failed. The diya in Jyoti's hand also goes out.
Comments
The episode was a good one, w/ Jyoti deciding to make the best of it and tackling the situation courageously & cheerfully. That way, although Kabir has misgivings about her decision, he isn't left guilty about Jyoti being upset @ the situation. It was also nice to see Jyoti involving Roshni in decorating the house for the puja, and have her participate. Wish Jeet had also been there - they didn't show him.
Bhairavi coming in @ the end was a spoiler, but hopefully, Jyoti stays firm, despite Roshni's attack. Take her to hospital again, get her treated, and then drag it on as long as it lasts, and stay firm on the no. Hopefully, if Jyoti is pregnant w/ Kabir's baby, that puts the kabash on this whole stupid plan, since that then ceases to be an option (and if Jyoti didn't consider an abortion when Pankaj abandoned her, she'd be even less likely to have one when Kabir worships her)
Speaking of which, Jyoti's bhashan to Pankaj was right on, & long overdue. In addition to everything she said, she should have told Pankaj that unlike him, she valued and values her marriages, and is not going to sacrifice their sanctity for any reason whatsoever. But it was good to see her tell Pankaj point blank that what Roshni is suffering is a result of Pankaj's selfishness.
