This week, a new animation movie of 2 hours - Ramayan - the epic - surfaced in the theaters.

Wanted to see how many of you saw it, & what did you think? I saw it on Navami, and will post my views on it later, but was curious on what those who've seen it thought about it. Hence my poll questions above (Choices 3 & 4 are tongue-in-cheek, in case you didn't get it 😈

This would be a good place to discuss this movie, and what yall thought of it

Oh, & a belated happy dusshera/bijoya dashami to all of you. (Wish they also had a similar movie out on Durga vs Mahishashur, which wouldn't have to be culled for a 2 hr movie)

Thanks Vrish, happy belated Dusshera to you too!

Didn't see the movie yet, but plan to soon...is it good? Would you recommend it?

The voice of Ram is Arun Govil, right? Someone told me.

Never mind, the voice of Ram was supposed to be for the animated Luv Kush movie, not Ramayan, lols.

No, the voice of Rama wasn't Arun Govil - it was Manoj Bajpayee, while Sita was Juhi Chawla. Incidentally, the same woman played the voice dubbing of Urmila & Shurpanakha, so had Lakshman married Shurpanakha & had his eyes closed, he'd not have known the difference 😆

For a 2 hour summary of the Ramayan, this movie was okay. The language was shudh Hindi, and the same type as one would get from both the Sagar serials, which is appropriate as it's for the Ramayan, and yet sounds too grown-up for kids, who are (presumably) the targetted audience. But if the target of this movie was adults, then the answer is no.

Lols, that's what I thought. The target audience usually is for kids, so if grownups want to watch it, they should prepare themselves for a light movie to watch for entertainment, not for any 'religious awakening' or anything. But these kinds of movies are cute, because they entertain the kids and they also make for some pleasant entertainment on a rainy Sundary.
I loved the Animated Hanuman movie (1st one, 2nd was so weird), and the Ghatotkach one too.
