A small gift from my side in the form of OS on our favorite jodi: - Kumkum and Summit.
The story starts from a house which was decorated beautifully on the occasion of marriage of Kumkum and Summit. Everyone was very busy in the preparations and a marriage was taking place in the huge garden of the house. Kumkum has done her graduation and Summit is a captain in Indian Army. We see Kumkum and Summit sitting together in front of the holy fire and were performing the rituals. The marriage took place and it was time for the Bidaai. Kumkum was crying badly as she was leaving her home for an unknown person with whom she has gotten married just now; but this marriage was not according to her will. Kumkum had always wished to have a love marriage because she believes that love is very important in marriage. So, she was not happy with the marriage. On the other hand, Summit was very happy due to this marriage. He has decided to get married to Kumkum as he saw her pic. We can say that it was love at first sight. He is very happy today as he had married a girl whom he had loved.
They reached Summit's home and Summit's mom welcomed them in the house. They were happy to have their daughter-in-law in the house. All the rituals have been performed but Kumkum hasn't taken part in them with full dedication.
It's the night time and Kumkum was sitting silently on the bed. Summit entered the room and he was not able to believe his destiny that he has found his love. He was very happy. He moved towards her and sat on the bed near her.
Summit: - "Kabhi socha nahin tha ki aise hamari shaadi ho jayegi'"
Kumkum: - "Socha to mene bhi nahin tha ki meri shaadi aise hogi.."
Summit got a little confused after hearing her: - "Matlab?"
Kumkum: - "Matlab ki me hamesha se love marriage karna chahti thi, I don't believe in arrange marriages."
Summitgot the biggest shock of his life: - "What?"
Kumkum: - "Haan, mene hamesha se apni shaadi ko le kar bahut se sapne dekhe the, magar aaj aapse shaadi hone ke baad mere sab sapne tut gaye."
Summit: - "To ab tum kya chahti ho?"
Kumkum: - "Me is shaadi ko todh to nahin sakti kyunki mein shaadi ke bandhan me bahut believe karti hoon, par mujhe waqt chahiye; is environment me adjust karne ke liye and aapke saath adjust karne ke liye bhi."
Summit was so shocked to hear this; he didn't say anything but just nodded his head in order to say that it's ok and moved towards balcony. He was not able to believe all this. He looked upon the sky as if asking from the God that Y all this is happening to him. He has loved Kumkum unconditionally but today, it seemed like his world has shattered. Two drops of tears shed from his eyes. He was not able to forget Kumkum's words.
He came back in the room lately and saw Kumkum sleeping very peacefully. He moved towards her and sat on the floor near her: - "Mein nahin janta tha ki tum is shaadi se khush nahin ho, agar mujhe yeh pata hota to mein kabhi tumse shaadi hi nahin karta; par ab mein intezar karne ke ilava aur kuch nahin kar sakta; intezar us din ka jab tumhe ehsaas hoga ki pyaar shaadi ke baad bhi ho sakta aur zaruri nahin hai ki love marriages hi successful rehti hai; mein tumhe prove kar dunga ki pyaar shaadi ke baad ho yan shaadi se pehle; usse koi fark nahin padhta; pyar to bas ek ehsaas hai jo ek rishte ko mazboot banata hai." Saying this, he moved towards the couch and tried to get some sleep.
It's 6 A.M. in the morning, due to Summit's habbit; he woke up early and went on the terrace to get some fresh air and to do some exercise. At 8 A.M., he came down silently so that no one in the home can catch him. He entered his room and found Kumkum still sleeping. Firstly, he thought he should talk with her but remembering the incidents of last night; he dropped the idea and left for getting ready. After 15 minutes, he came out, fully dressed. He goes near Kumkum and got lost in her innocence. He was so lost in her that he didn't notice her waking up. Kumkum was shocked to see Summit looking at her like this. She called his name which brought him back in the real world.
Kumkum: - "Kya dekh rahe the?"
Summitslightly embarrassed: - "Kuch nahin, me wo tumhe jhagane hi aa raha tha'Jaldi se taiyaar ho jao.."
Kumkum: - "Ok..fine'"
Kumkum took her clothes from her suitcase and left for getting ready. She came out after 30 minutes and was looking very beautiful in a pink saree.
Kumkum: - "Aise kya dekh rahe ho?"
Summit: - "Tumse kuch baat karni thi'"
Kumkum: - "Haanji boliye'"
Summit: - "Mein manta hoon ki yeh shaadi tumhara marjhi se nhi hui, par yeh baat bhi sach hai ki hamari shaadi ho chuki hai aur ab hum is sach ko badal nahin sakte; to is rishte me ghutne se acha hai ki humane rishte ko ek naam de- dosti ka naam; tanki hum ek dosare ko jaan bhi sake aur apne is rishte ko bhi niba sake..to kya marjhi hai tumhari?"
Kumkum: - "Baat to aapne theek kahi hai, par meri ek shart hai?"
Summit: - "Haan bolo'"
Kumkum: - "Aap mujhe kabhi kissi cheez ke liye force nahin karenge."
Summit: - "Mein tumhe kyun force karunga?"
Kumkum: - "Aapko pata nahin kya T.V. par sab dikhate hain ki kaise husbands apni wives ke uppar apne decisions force karte hain'"
Summit laughed at Kumkum's reply and replied: - "Are tumhe kisne keh diya ki mein un T.V. ke husbands jaisa hoon.."
Kumkum: - "Kisi ne kaha nahin par mujhe laga, dikhne me itne khadoos jo lagte ho'"
Summitwas shocked to listen her reply but then he said: - "Zaruri nahin na ki jo dikhne me jaisa ho, wo asal zindagi me bhi vaisa hi ho.."
Kumkum: - "Haan, yeh to aapne theek kaha.."
Summit: - "To batao, banogi meri dost; karogi mujhse dosti.."
Kumkum: - "Haan, karungi." She said and both of them shake their hands and became friends. From that day, Kumkum and Summit have spent their time together knowing each other. They used to go on long drives, clubs and any other place where they will get some time to know each other and to understand each other. They have become really good friends. While Summit's love has increased in this time; Kumkum has also developed some feelings for him.
2 months have passed and now, it's time for Summit to join his duty as his leave has ended. Kumkum was not happy on hearing the news; she is used to Summit and his company. Kumkum was feeling very uneasy; she wanted to talk with Summit but she was unable to define the reason behind it.
Only one day has left of Summit's leave. That night, when Summit was packing his luggage, Kumkum came to him.
Kumkum: - "Sari prep ho gayi kya?"
Summit: - "Haan, bas ho gayi'"
Kumkum: - "Oh'Good."
Summitfound something unusual in Kumkum's behavior so he asked her: - "Kuch kehna chahti ho kya?"
Kumkum: - "Haan bas puchna tha ki aap vaapis kab aaoge?"
Summit: - "Wo to mein kuch janta nahin, kyunki humhari job me kisi ko yeh nahin pata hota ki kab hum kahan par honge; apne desh ki seva karna hi hamara dharma hai aur is dharma ko pura karne ke liye hum kuch bhi kar sakte hai."
Kumkum smiled at Summit as she noticed something different in Summit's behavior. She has noticed proud and love in Summit's voice and that proud and love was for his country.
In the morning, Summit left for his mission and Kumkum was left alone in her room. She was feeling very lonely. After some days, Summit called her and Kumkum picked up the phone.
Summit: - "Kaise ho tum?"
Kumkum: - "Mein theek hoon. Par aap kab aaoge? Mujhe aapki bahut chinta rehti hai; please jaldi vaapis aa jao'"
Summit: - "Mein abhi nahin aa sakta Kumkum; my duty comes first. Please try to understand."
Kumkum: - "Par'"
Summit: - "Acha abhi muje jana padega; mein tumhe kal phone karunga." Saying this, he cut the phone and Kumkum got tears in her eyes. She hugged a pillow and said: - "Please Summit, jaldi vaapis aa jao. Jab hamari shaadi hui thi, mene kabhi nahi socha tha ki mein is shaadi ko nibha sakungi par agar aaj mein yeh sab kar pa rahi hoon to uski vajah sirf aur sirf aap hain; aapne mujhe bilkul badal diya; aap hi ke karan aaj mujhe apne is rishte par bharosa hua hai, aap par bharosa hua hai aur shayad aap se pyaar bhi hua hai."
Many days have passed to this event, but still there is no sign of Summit. Kumkum was very worried. It's the night time and all the family members were sleeping in their respective rooms. But Kumkum was awake; she heard some noises outside; so she came out to see what is happening there. But to her disappointment no one was there; so she thought that it must be some illusion. She came in her room and closed the door. She turned and saw Summit standing there. She was so happy that she can't speak a single word but tears started flowing through her eyes. Summit saw this and couldn't control himself and immediately, hugged her.
Summit: - "Kya hua'mujhe dekh kar khush nahin ho kya?"
Kumkum: - "Nahin, me bahut hush hun'"
Summit: - "So, Mrs. Kumkum Summit Wadhwa, aapne humhe miss kiya yan nahin'.?"
Kumkum: - "Bahut miss kiya'"
Saying this, she hugged him. Summit was happy to see Kumkum like this. After sometime, they parted and Summit asked Kumkum to close her eyes and Kumkum did so'
When she opened her eyes; she found a beautiful cake placed on a table and Summit was singing'Happy Birthday to U'Happy Birthday to U'.
Kumkum was really surprised to see all this
Kumkum: - "Aapko kaise pata?"
Summit: - "Are ek hi to biwi hai meri; uska birthday kaise bhool sakta hoon me?"
Kumkum: - "Achaji, to mera gift kahan hain?"
Summit: - "Wo to me jaldi jaldi me nahin la paya; par aaj tum job hi mangogi wo tumhara'"
Kumkum: - "Pakka?"
Summit: - "Haan Pakka'"
Kumkum: - "Mujhe aapka saath chahiye umar bhar ke liye; ek dost ki tarah bhi aur ek jeevansaathi ki tarah bhi.."
Summit was really happy to hear this and replied: - "Wo to tumhare pass shoro se hi hai na'I love U"
Kumkum: - "I love U too'"
And their love reached its destination. Sometimes, we thought that love marriages are more successful than arrange marriages. But we always forget that a success of marriage doesn't depend upon the fact that whether it's arranged or its love. The success of marriage depends upon the understanding and the trust between two souls'
