She shook her head thinking it was just last minute jitters. She took comfort in the fact that she was going to marry someone who loved her and would protect her always. Maan Singh Khurana maybe arrogant, possessive and overbearing, but he was fiercely loyal and loved her unconditionally.
Meera's soft voice bought Geet out of her musings.
"You look beautiful," Meera said while placing the gorgeous red duppata on Geet's head.
Geet walked up to the full length mirror to admire herself. She looked stunning in her red lengha that had heavy gold embroidery. She had minimal makeup and jewellery on, and looked very elegant.
Suddenly the door opened to reveal a chattering Pinky and Pari standing at the doorway.
"Wow," Pinky said in awe, "Arre Geet yaar, you look so beautiful."
"Pinky tu bhi na..." replied a blushing Geet.
"Arre dekho toh, kitna sharmari hai yeh... vaise Geet... aaj toh tu Mr Dreamy ki hosh uda de ghi ha," giggled Pari.
"Ab bas bhi karo tum dono," reprimanded Meera, "but Geet I'm gonna be honest with you, lagta hai ki aaj raat hubby dearest will loose control" winked Meera whilst giving Geet a slight nudge on her shoulders.
"Uff, stop it guyz" Geet blushed again. As she raised her hands to fix the khandani neck piece Dadi had given her to wear on this special day, Pari couldn't help but let out another series of giggles.
" Ab tujhe kya hua? " muttered Pinky while munching on some ladoos.
" Kuch nahi, I was just checking out Geet's mehndi, look at how dark it is. Vaise Geet, you know what the saying is about dark henna right?"
Without waiting for Geet's response, all three girls shouted "Arre... gehra rang ka yeh matlab hota hai ke Maan toh tujhe bohot pyar karenge!"
The girls then broke out into a fit of laughter causing bechari Geet to turn a even darker shade of red if that were possible. As their their laughter and teasing continued, Tasha came stumbling through the door.
"Oh silly me" she chuckled.
As for Geet, if the dancing butterflies in her stomach were doing the waltz before, they were doing the Salsa now.........
