Confusing Character Twists

I have started sensing that the lead characters of "Pratigya" are not very well developed or is it too early to say so? The hint of depth given when the soap started hasn't been earned by the story so far but expected by it. We are just supposed to assume that the pieces are in place for a great drama, that great drama is unfolding before us. That has simply not been the case. I have started having a confusing mlange of mixed motivations.

Krishna:

-He was introduced as a hawt 'bindass' local goon. Interesting!

-His blind love. Happens!

-Mr. Victory Devil? Did wicked things to get his love. Justified the character!

Character Transformation (Went Well with the story)

- He was true to his love. Surprising!

- Gave so much respect to her. C'mon he never forced her to execute his male need. Loved it!

-Went against his much loved parents in her defense. Awwww!

-Tested her love. Human weakness. Justifiable!

-His unconditional love paid off. Was loved. Kriya moments rocked! Deserved it!

-He did the nastiest thing he might have imagined to stand for her. Romantic!

-He agreed to disagree in several situations and compromised to keep the conflict short. Lovely!

-She started teaching him the realization of truth, which had started getting in his skin. Realistic!

Another Character Transformation (360 degree)

-Yells at wife in front of family. What?

-Raises his hand. I thought respecting her was his precedence? No way!

-Ignores bluntly in front of Thakurs Yuck!

-Forgets the road of the realization of truth that we thought he was leading into. Blopper?

-Overlooks the marriage clash he was facing. A Thakur!

Pratigya:

-She was a present-day woman of the word. Cool!

-Surrendered her life for her family sake to stay with her 'pratigya'. Surprising!

-Stay put under the same roof with a man she hated. Quite rare!

-Spoke her mind and didn't give up consenting even with demonic Thakurs. Quite a pratigya!

Character Transformation (Went Well with the story)

-Started loving him exploring his dear heart. Yayy!

-Came across what he was made up of. Offered him lots of esteem for that. Great!

-Romance was in the air. Enjoyed it. Cute!

-Stood for Kesar. Failed. Faced insults, blames. He dotingly took her share. She appolized to him. Lovely!

Character Transformation (360 degree)

-Once again wanted to stand for Kesar using the same method she failed. Foolish!

-Priority is her 'pratigya' of standing for Kesar's rights than to listen to him. Dumb!

- What happened to her "bahut bahut bahut pyaar karte hai" confession? Oops

-Starts questioning his love? No trust? Oh well!

My two cents! 😃

👏 Nice post shefali. This is exactly what I was thinking while watching today's episode. The CVs are bringing about a sudden and drastic change in Krishna's character which is quite different from the one we know.

I found it a bit unbelievable that the same Krishna who used to pretend that all is fine in front of his family while he was warring with Prats is suddenly rude to her in front of everyone. We've always seen his attempts to cover up his issues but now he's not? That's not the krishna we know.

Prats also seems changed but I can't really put my finger on the reason yet.

I don't know, I have a feeling CVs can change the character entirely to suit their storylines. However I dont think a negative Krishna will go downwell with the viewers.

I dont see any character change.....
ppl who were in love with krishna cos of arhaan are shocked.. other wise...he is not really changed... his idea of love was and is physical intimacy...
he didnt care when his Mother was being beaten up(by ss), when his sil was tortured.why would wife be any different

HIs idea of love and his understanding of women is different from most of us-young, educated, upper middle-class brought up in a big city.

and krishna has always been like that.. i dont see any sudden change in this character.

That's one of the sudden changes bronze. I don't agree with you that his idea of love was physical intimacy. If he wanted that, he could have forced Prats right from the first day of their marriage. Instead, he waited until she was compliant. He stood by her even when she refused to let him touch her, even when she blurted out how their marriage was a sham in front of the whole family. Plus his famous line "Hum tumhare pyar ke bhooke hain tumhare body kay nahin" However, after portraying him in this manner, the CVs have suddenly given him an about turn and he's stuck on how love means physical intimacy. I think the CVs just change characters on a whim. In a week or two, he'll be back to his usual self.

Krishna is fed up to his back teeth.....his inner turmoil is reflected outwardly....life is changing rapidly and he is trying to grab hold onto something in a bid to stop the change.....so this behavious is one last remnant of the old......soon enough he will realise it is futile, he needs to go out and work or earn something to provide for his wife and himself....once he has accepted this, he will be back to his normal self...
P, I'm finding is more obstinate. Don't know why.....but I can't understand the logic of trying to put shakti in jail one week and then fighting to ensure he remains married to Kesar (when she opposes his second marriage).....why doesn't she take this opportunity to set her Kesardi free?...she is doing everything for Kesar, why not this?...
In real life marriages, couples do go through ups and downs...periods where they are flaming angry with each other and do not speak to one another and etc....Krishna and P are showing some aspects of marriage.....this does not mean the love isn't there.....in fact the stronger the emotion -love - the more intense the anger is ......passion is the same whether angry, happy, sad, hatred or on love...no halfs at all and certainly no compromise...

It is not the marriage she is trying to save as Kesar's rights as a woman married into that house. Unlike in the west, marriages in many stratas of Indian society are not about the personal relationships as they are about standing in society. Even women married to utter brutes would prefer him alive because the life of a widow is extremely tough.

The life of a discarded wife is even worse. In this society, a second marriage means either dispossession for the woman or an extremely low status within the household. If Kesar is allowed in the house at all, she will not have anything, the status as Shaktibahu, the jewellery she currently wears and not even the glitter she currently sports on her sarees. It is a very drastic drop in circumstances. Those are just the outward symbols, of course, but the social loss is rather severe.
